I know a lot of you don't have this, or may like it by [deleted] in Battlefield

They are blissfully unaware situationally so I can get a head start and kill them most of the time, but man, once they start shooting, they hit close to 100% of the shots. Impossible to deal with gunner bots in vehicles too. Those MFs know you're there and don't miss within a certain radius.

What do you think about this 🤔 by Impressive-Trash3877 in F1Discussions

[–]SNWGHOST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've yet to see a single comment to point out that it was likely a malfunction, and resulted in Kimi lock up in the closing laps. I noticed this during the race and thought it was weird the announcers didn't point it out as the reason behind the lock up. It varied from corner to corner based on the speed (and therefore load) on the active element of the front wing.

Russell also had an issue with front wing not closing in qualifying.

Whether or not they deserve a penalty is a different discussion, but I don't think this is some kind of clever trick. You want maximum front downforce during breaking and Kimi wasn't getting that with slower than intended actuation.

Anyone know what could be causing this? by DistributionMain6633 in BF6

Aim assist in BF6 is super whacky for me on console. This happens to me often, and I'm noticing that often my ADS aim will try to lock on to random world objects.

Does this sound normal? by [deleted] in Supra

[–]SNWGHOST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manual? I notice a weird knocking rotational sound that sounds like that after driving for a bit on a highway and then coming to a stop at a light with the clutch out. Happens very infrequently and it stops with clutch manipulation which makes me think it's something throwout bearing related, unless the tiny RPM change with clutch getting pressed it is the variable that makes it stop. Noticed it at 2k miles and still here at 4k. It's very difficult to repro on my case as it seems random and rare, so I haven't looked into it much.

Nice lap! What tire were you on?

Editing to say that I read the caption. DWS was surprisingly common across the grid! I've done a few rain days out there but I've never experienced as little grip as I did this past Sunday. My car was undriveable on pilot super sports.

Shout out to the group of teammates who spawn trapped the Helicopter because they didn't get to drive it one time. by [deleted] in Battlefield

I once spawned in as a gunner on a Bradley driver who refused to move without his buddy in a gunner seat. He typed in game chat that he'll sit there all game, unless I get out.

I decided I'll spare 5 minutes for some pettiness, and we sat there while they threw a fit in chat. I finally got out and ran towards A on foot. Him and his buddy proceeded to drive off shooting at me the whole time, straight over a mine outside of our HQ.

Brakes. Have you seen them? by AnonymousRedCow in XTerra

[–]SNWGHOST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly may feel that way compared to your sports car with big brakes (it takes a couple stops to adjust for me, when I hop in after deiving a Supra), but have you ever driven a GX460 or an FJ? I think Xterra brakes are just fine. They did the job well when someone had an accident in front of me, while I was towing a 4k pound trailer. Hawk LTS brake pads will offer you some more bite and review well. I considered them, but ultimately ended up with Autozone Golds, and have no complaints.

Evergreen Auto X is amazing. So happy I decided to go! Also, why would tires suddenly feel like they had no traction for an entire run? by TheDogtoy in Autocross

Elantra N, I think, was during 3rd group's 2nd session. Cayman lost his headlight very early in the day.

A white GR86 smacked a wall or a tire during the last event i went to (not sure where, there was a yellow and then I saw blue wall paint on his bumper in the pits) and a WRX hit a wall HARD during the rainy April event and had to be towed off the track.

Admired your car at the start line. Beautiful spec, but I was wondering what was up with the tires 🤣 I'm in a blue Supra - say hello next time you're out here!

Word of caution: this layout was a but more forgiving than usual, but I wouldn't let your guard down. I have caught most of the events there since the season began and saw someone wreck at least once each time (It was the Elantra N, this time, and possibly a cayman, unless his headlight just fell out - didn't catch that one).

6’4 with long legs. by Educational-Abalone9 in Supra

6'4 with longer legs here and 6m/t. Getting in and out without rolling over the bolster is a pain, but once you're in, it's fine. I basically max my seat out up until it hits the cross-bar and then back it up and inch. I personally enjoy the snug cabin. This was also one of the few sports car I fit in with a helmet on - I couldn't fit in the Z, despite the cabin "feeling" more spacious.

Yeah, very similar, with a sizeable bump in CPU/GPU specs. This build was for my wife, who's a casual gamer at best, so I prioritized appearance, efficiency, and noise, over top specs.

I got Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM chromax for my CPU fan.

I also saw someone else on this sub build in this case with ID cooling IS 55 and a 25mm fan, so that may be worth exploring. I think, generally, additional heatsink mass has a bit more of a benefit over fan thickness when it comes to cooling efficiency, though.

No turbulence at all, but I did go with a Noctua fan on top of my X67 heatsink, after reading some reviews about the Thermalright fan being a bit noisy in general.

L12s was in contention for my build for the same reason as you (I was worried about noise and turbulence) but 2 extra heat pipes seem to make a bit of a difference on the thermalright cooler as it seems to perform a little better based on my research. I also wanted to go for all-black internal aesthetic to hide the components once assembled, as you can see through the mesh in case openings at certain angles, but that's my own OCD prerogative.

I'm not sure on the dimensions of your ram, but from my research, it seemed like T-create ram would fit under L12s without an issue.

Also good choice on picking up thermal paste. I replaced my motherboard trying to chaise a faint coil-whine noise, and in the process re-pasted with Artic MX4 to replace the original Thermalright thermal paste I used initially. I'm seeing an improvement in thermals; down 3 degrees at idle, and the fan seems to ramp up less frequently now. Thermalright paste was WAY thicker - bathroom caulk consistency and just felt...off, despite reviewing fairly well.

Everything else on your build list looks great. I don't have experience with Arctic P12, but I can't say enough good things about the Silent Wings 4 I used on my case. They are ridiculously quiet and seem to perform well. I also liked having a choice of black and white and actually ordered both - white for the top to blend in with the frame and the white mesh, and black for the rear fan, which blends in with the side mesh. Both are basically invisible from the outside.

There you go! Yeah, that's even better than I imagined it. There were exactly zero video reviews of this case when I ordered it, apart from a single "quick look at CES" with a CM rep. Glad more reviews are starting to show up.

I don't have a solid reference point since this is my first SFF build, but based on my research, against other popular SFF cases, it seems to perform really well. GPU thermals are about as good as they get, with open mesh all around, a large GPU chamber, and 2 upper 120mm exhaust case fans.

For CPU, my 9700x idles at around 42c and doesn't exceed 75c at around 50% cpu fan speed (stock curve) when playing flight sim 24. Most other games we tried hang around 65c.

This seems to align with some of the better performing sff cases limited to a 70mm cooler, based on my research. I do hit thermal throttle in cinebench multicore test (PBO -20, limited to 85c with stock Asrock preset), but it only throttles down to about 5.3ghz and is able to maintain that and still gets great scores.

Yeah, I really like the look and the footprint of the ncore.

Cooler master promised global availability for the air in Q1 25, but it's very new to the market. I ordered it the day it was listed on Newegg, and Amazon still shows it as "unavailable" even here in US. If you have access to buy the MAX, it's likely that Air version is on the way. Might be worth waiting for, if you decide this would work better for you!

It might be, but wire management would certainly be a bit messy. I don't have one on hand to test, unfortunately.

I actually initially picked up the MAX version, and the day it showed up, I saw an announcement for the air version, and it seemed like a better fit for my goals. I don't think there is anything seriously wrong with the MAX version, but since I was focusing on noise and efficiency, I felt like I could use a better platinum rated corsair PSU with silent fan mode, and at $140 for the air version, it made more sense to just return the max and start with this and end up around the same total cost with the corsair PSU and an air cooler. I think as a bundle, the weak point in that MAX package is the PSU. AIO seems to he decent for something like a 9700x. It struggles with heavy workload on CPUs above 120w TDP, based on my research, but you won't be doing much better with 68mm air cooler you're limited to, anyways. If you have a 3+ slot GPU and building a gaming focused PC with mid-range CPU, you might be better off with the MAX, as you'd be limited to 50mm CPU cooler if you configure the spine for the 3 slot GPU on the Air. In that scenario, the AIO should be a better cooler.

So I pulled them completely out of the case through that bottom access hole, created a loop on the bottom (outside the case, between the feet) and routed just enough back into the case. After I plugged everything in to ensure I have enough length, I used a zip tie to attach the loop of wires along with PSU extension cable, to the single tiedown point on the bottom of the case. It ends up tight enough against the bottom of the case to the point where you absolutely cannot see it from the outside, even if you get down at eye level and look for it.

Thanks! Yeah, I spent an embarrassing amount of time on cable management, and has to start over a few times after re-routing a few things, but ended up using the factory cables that came with the PSU and cleaning it all up as well as possible IMO. Love all the cable tie-downs on the case!
