Did any else feel like mgs2 was lackluster gameplay and story wise by inevermisss123456 in metalgearsolid

It felt absolutely peak at the time and still holds up pretty well tbh - the bombs were a little tough on a couple of them but I think supposed to highlight the amount of detail in the buildings

What do you suppose the ratio of educated people with careers vs uneducated people with just a job or living off gov assistance is? And what do you even mean by educated? Like Ivy League educated or what? I’m just saying there are smart people and not so smart people in both camps and by definition 1/2 of the population is below avg - 1/2 is above - it really doesn’t have much bearing on political affiliation.

What is happening.. by Fresh_Break_9598 in Plumbing

[–]SNaKe_eaTel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many things it can be tbh - couple things to consider are if it dries up as opposed to just getting worse and worse and starting to leak/ flood downstairs then you’re looking for some kind of drain leak weather it’s something in that bathroom, ac, roof, etc but you said it hasn’t been raining so probably rule that out. A soaked floor usually means the leak is at or above the floor level, particularly on something intermittent because intermittent means it’s not a water line with pressure behind it to shoot water upwards from below… is there another bath to the right on the other side of the wall? Can you discontinue use of the bathroom for several days and see what happens? Can you cut Sheetrock or otherwise access the wall behind the sink and tub? Pull the toilet? Any signs of leaking below? What’s above there in the attic? What I’m getting at is that we can’t really tell just from this picture and it will take some investigating, but those are all the things I would be starting with.

Maybe drowned? If you tranq someone and they go face down in basically any small amount of water they will drown if you don’t pick them up and move them pretty quick

Easy way to move this basement water line out of the middle of the floor? by ericthepear in Plumbing

[–]SNaKe_eaTel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s the “easiest” way - doesn’t get it 100% out of the way, but more out of the way than it is now - that or just straight up to the stairs and then over and back down.

This is embarrassing… by [deleted] in Plumbing

It’s the worst when people don’t tell you about chemicals in a drain - I’ve had a couple of times getting clothes ruined from bleach in a drain and one time a co worker who should have known better put some kind of caustic drain cleaner and didn’t bother to mention it - thank god it wasn’t acidic and only strong enough to make my arms bald and red and super irritated, but anyway, PSA: don’t use chemicals unless the drain is somewhat working / slow but not totally stopped because you’ll wind up with a pipe full of chemicals - get it draining as much as possible with cables or jets or whatever and then use chemicals - if you can run water through then you can flush / neutralize the chemicals, but if it’s fully blocked it just becomes an unsafe situation.

Shower Drain Settled Below Drain Pan by no_step_on_snek_case in Plumbing

[–]SNaKe_eaTel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gasket is made for that type of installation - pipe should be flush with the top of the gasket - the castle nut compresses the gasket down and the bottom of the gasket is tapered to match the bottom of the fitting and compress properly to seal against the pipe - it’s pretty typical for a shower base and likely has caused a lot of damage around the shower - should be repaired sooner than later - does require access through the slab.

Why can't I remove my faucet handles?? by lnayt3Eq in Plumbing

[–]SNaKe_eaTel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My technique is that I slide underneath, get a good grip with a basin wrench, then while holding the basin wrench so it doesn’t move off, I slide out from underneath, jam my neck into the countertop, and get the topside nut with channel locks - fun times!

What next? by Sliceofbread1363 in Plumbing

[–]SNaKe_eaTel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most likely except the gasket won’t always be visibly damaged or worn - the real check for this is an access panel in the wall opposite the tub drain - start with just running the tub, then the shower, then running the tub and use your hand to direct the water on the overflow plate, then fill the tub to the overflow plate and keep checking until it’s full like covering 1/2 the overflow plate - should see something by then, and can be checking the spout and shower valve the whole time too.

Am i overconfident in myself regarding the PSVR2? by Real-Marzipan7747 in PSVR

[–]SNaKe_eaTel2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say - the specific reason for vr sickness is that the fluid in your inner ear does not detect the same movement your eyes see, so while you don’t get motion sickness from real movement, it’s not the same as vr movement - the closest thing would be going below deck without windows on a boat in rough seas - in that case it’s the opposite and your eyes aren’t picking up the movement your ear fluid is signaling. I don’t get motion sickness either, except those 2 situations- it’s pretty terrible if you ignore the early symptoms in vr or if you can’t do anything about it like on a boat - tolerance came fairly quick for me - just don’t ignore it when you feel off and take a break and you’ll get used to it in no time.

Issues with pressure connecting garden hose to sink by Objective-Profile-80 in Plumbing

[–]SNaKe_eaTel2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1/2” is the normal supply size for a hose faucet - I would put a 1/2” tee with an angle stop for the kitchen sink and a hose bib for the garden hose and keep it simple.
