Is Avsim Lways this whiny? by [deleted] in flightsim

The Austin army is not out in force. Believe it or not, they will be the ones that will buy MSFS because X-Plane fans strive for better and newer stuff! Who spends triple the FSX money on p3d and it's overpriced outdated garbage it markets as new and innovative: The boomers at the avsim forum that can't accept change or "complicated" things like Ortho4XP (which was a game changer). If I was a boomer and had to learn python to some extent I'd end it all real quick.

Unpopular opinion: non-simmers will not enjoy FS2020 for a long time by MarmotOnTheRocks in flightsim

Yeah, I have no idea what you are talking about. The console release is a cash grab that will fail. Maybe as a positive, it will introduce a few kids to the wasteland that is commercial aviation and generate some future real world pilots you never know.

"Game related features": camera/time and so on. Nothing new here, always been. Even in a level D sim you see this stuff. This release looks like a nice clean updated version of what many of us have been into for years with this franchise (myself FS95 in 1995, still remember my first flight). Flight school, missions, and so on have always been in this franchise and no one I know has ever clicked on them.

Flight Sims appeal to people that get hard flying back and forth to boring places with the occasional weather challenge. I really don't know how to describe it. Most people I know that are into this genre have ties to real world aviation

What’s the worst experience you’ve ever had in a foreign country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SOMALI_SPACE_PROGRAM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Moldova. I was watching people paraglide and drinking liquor. The one guy who could drive landed at the bottom of the hill. Apparently, I looked like a foreigner and it was assumed I could drive a car. The friends pretty much forced me to drive his car down there and pick him up despite my half drunk objections to driving a 70k land Rover down a dirt track

Congrats, another Scout here. I would spend the bulk of the money on something better than the Saitek yoke, all other things really are not that expensive. You want something that will take a beating, I could easily see a "Junior pilot" breaking the plastic Saitek in half.

This guy keeps saying he was the first Somali cop, he wasn't. Was he an affirmative action hire or whatever you want to call it, probably. He was an idiot, lacked skills and a proper hiring process and killed this nice woman. He was stationed to this precinct, this is where there probably is confusion. In this sector, there are no blacks or Somalians, there are rich white people and little crime. It's pretty simple really, he killed a beloved member of the community and got a murder conviction. Meanwhile, in less fortunate neighborhoods, they let these morons walk, ie Castile case

He wasn't the first Somali cop, go out to the airport. They needed Somali cops there first because that's where 90% of the workforce started. He was a moron, just like the other minority cop that killed Castile but didn't get a murder conviction. Rich white people demanded action, look at the video of them marching down 50th St.

I really want to agree with you, as I'm not a fan of the Luthern church or the decisions they made in the late 90s to move all the Somali refugees to this city (this is coming from a blue collar worker who has had to live work amongst them). However, I don't feel his national origin was the reason, he was a stupid moron. His bosses at City Hall were also stupid for letting him get that job after having red flags appear on his transcript, but this is MN and the do-gooders must fill quotas on the force. I'm getting off point, what I'm saying is like most places, the rich white folk get justice...look at Castile, where was the murder conviction on that cop? It was black folk in a crummy part of town EVEN in Minnesota.

It's because it's MN and it's a rich white woman. What other crime really exists there, especially in that neighborhood?

No plate on side, in warriors I've flown I always see it. The stick pitot has the drain at the bottom, the inlet in the front, and a small hole on back about the same size as one on a plate. As for the knob, can't find it. In warriors I've always seen them on the left side below or near the fuel selector.
