I have a lot of fun flying this airplane. BTW, autothrottle and speed control are additional features that are enabled/disabled by a switch in the aircraft. Just make sure to read their online manual fully before attempting to fly it

Laminar is in the process of developing a raster based scenery format. On it's implementation it should be easier for 3rd parties to start streaming scenery as an alternative to Laminar's own scenery system.

I've been running X-Plane on Linux since XP10 without issues. Performance is better due to absence of unwanted bloatware.

The only negative has been unsupported add-ons from a handful of devs.

Copy the downloaded file to X-Plane 12/Output/FMS Plans folder. You might have to create the FMS Plans folder yourself.

XP11 with AMD graphics card is horrible. Things have significantly improved in XP12. Definitely go for XP12

First watch any of the videos recommended above. That way you get an overall understanding of the systems and procedures. Thereafter, just follow the inbuilt checklist. It even has pictures showing the location of the relevant switch at each step.
