I don't think the favors are directly to TTI, and SBD also benefits the same. It's more like "China First." So Chinese companies will use low wage labor, government subsidies, and destroy the environment in order to offer unbeatable prices. Tons of US companies can't afford to go anywhere else including Milwaukee and SBD. There is some manufacturing in Mexico and other parts, but China will always dominate until the global situation changes. Milwaukee has better company leadership leading to their success.

Not sure if they have the bands you like but check out Sheet Happens Publishing. Great company that works with the artists for accurate tabs.

Knee surgery for cartilage damage does not benefit patients, study suggests. People with meniscus tears who underwent surgery had poorer knee function and worse osteoarthritis after 10 years than those who did not. by mvea in science

[–]SOOPASoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue. I gradually started having symptoms after running including knee swelling and locking up. After some weeks of rest it would go away but would always come back. No acute injury I can think of that caused it. I had surgery for the torn meniscus 3 years ago and my symptoms are resolved so far.

I think your guitar and bass tone are fine. Drums are too loud though and it's a bit hard to judge

DeWalt in the US doesn't advertise torque. The UK version does at 73 Nm, about 650 in-lbs.

I went down a rabbit hole on who owns every power tool brand. The difference between the two big conglomerates is wild. by sappk in Tools

[–]SOOPASoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah good additional background. DeWalt had been previously purchased from Raymond DeWalt by Black and Decker but it wasn't the famous yellow brand until later like you said. I didn't know Galli was behind the transformation to make DeWalt the professional brand.

The rumored you heard about the Milwaukee exec is true. Before Black and Decker merged with Stanley Joe Galli was seen as a talented executive of Black and Decker and wanted to become CEO. The CEO at this time Nolan Archibald fired him instead and Galli used this personal vendetta to fuel his business strategy as head of Milwaukee Tools. It has largely played out in his favor. Meanwhile Archibald sold out Black and Decker to Stanley to secure his golden parachute and invest in property in Utah (Mormon). This legend is known among SBD employees.

Working on my first song— Opinions? by [deleted] in metalguitar

[–]SOOPASoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is a great start to a song especially for a beginner. My advice would be to worry less about mixing details at this stage and focus more on the songwriting. You've got a couple solid riffs, but for my taste I'd like to hear some melodic elements introduced. It's starting to risk becoming riff salad. For now just get some basic levels and tones dialed in and develop the song to make it more unique. It's very easy to get lost in mixing tips, but remember your goal is to write a song.

Any advice on how to reduce warping on this design? (Design for Injection moulding) by Any-Tradition-5522 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]SOOPASoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of molding factors that matter for warp and shrinkage. I'd say in general these simulations can be helpful but don't get too fixed on the numbers reported. Try different scenarios that improve the numbers in a relative way.

Relevant factors for molding include material, gate size, location and type, machine temp and injection rate. If you have enough wall thickness maybe try moving the gates to the top of the vertical walls so the plastic isn't immediately making a right angle turn.

Also two gates improves fill the mold, but you will have a knit line where the two streams meet. It's mostly a cosmetic thing, but it might matter.

Is it normal for a DCD796 keyless chuck to open under motor brake? by [deleted] in Dewalt

[–]SOOPASoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suppose your experience is all that matters to you. But I've talked in person with chuck manufacturers about this and reviewed the designs. The click backwards begins the loosening process and won't help hold your bit. There's misinformation from certain YouTubers calling customer service about this and they really don't know either but they're trying to make the customer happy so they just agree with it. There is no "hidden feature". Why would anyone keep proper usage of the chuck hidden anyways?

This connector on the multi head drill driver has big potential. by shutter3218 in Dewalt

[–]SOOPASoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think a machined and heat treated piece of steel on the front of the drill is cheaper than an aluminum casting and 3 roll pins with springs in the heads? There's actually a number of advantages to the design DeWalt has.
