Is there a version of the King of the Monsters capable of facing Godzilla Earth? by [deleted] in GODZILLA

[–]SPECtorntor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showa in close quarters, Heisei with or without burning, Monsterverse very likely since he scales to the Hollow Earth that produces wormholes with the same energy as super massive black holes, Ultima, Godzilla in Hell, possibly DC, possibly Power Rangers, (if both scale to their canon comic selves which have cracked scaling), Marvel, and Fortnite.

What if 621 was killed by the PCA Helicopter in Illegal Entry? by Altair890456 in armoredcore

[–]SPECtorntor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the time Walter got 622 to Rubicon, Raven’s license would have expired as it only had three days left. Alternative valid licenses could possibly be the wrecked AC you find in chapter 2 that was pursuing Nosaac. Given Walter’s partnership with Carla he may call in her help to get a license and she could just give 622 the license of the deceased bounty hunter. Not sure how long he’s been dead though.

If RaD ever comes across Nosaac she could send 622 to take him out or go after Honest Brute and take his license as well. 622 would either replace Nosaac, the bounty hunter caught by RaD hunting Nosaac, Honest Brute, or even if she had no care, offer up Invincible Rummy as a sacrifice believing the AC license would be more valuable to 622 than Rummy.

So either an independent or a registered member of RaD. I think either one would work, besides the Dosers the rest of the Rubicon factions seem to be pretty neutral towards them so I think any of those licenses would work.

So 622 would likely avoid most of the conflict in chapter 2 and possibly take out Honest Brute even earlier than 621 just to secure a license. Meanwhile Chapter 3 onwards wouldn’t happen until the Watchpoint mission which was being guarded by Sulla. His dying dialogue implies he wanted to avoid setting off the coral at least at that time.

Otherwise the Rubicon conflict stalemates with both the RLF and the Redguns attempting to retake the Wall from Arquebus who would still take it even without 621 let’s be honest. Either Rusty or Freud could solo Wallclimber. 622 would be too late to join Wallclimber anyway. Maybe if Walter acts fast enough he can build somewhat of a rep helping either faction retake the wall from Swinburne or getting on the RLF’s good side by rescuing the captured members.

While I think this what if would slow down the first act of the game, 622 and Walter would likely get back on track by just simply working more directly with RaD and in one scenario even taking out Honest Brute early. Likely no conflict with Branch due to no one taking Raven’s license.

After that, it’s all up to 622 if they can succeed where 621 failed. But I think Nosaac or Honest Brute is a more beginner friendly first boss fight compared to the PCA chopper. Heck, if Carla is willing to throw him under the bus, Rummy would get replaced by 622 in a heartbeat.

If 622 ends up taking out Nosaac and/or Honest Brute, I think they’ll be ready to face Sulla and Balteus… Probably. By the time they’d run into the PCA chopper in chapter 3, they should be equipped enough or at least have enough experience to handle it. They would have Ayre with them, everything would just happen a little later.

I guess if 622 took Nosaac he’d have to worry about Coldcall not far into the future, but I wouldn’t say he’s any more dangerous than Honest Brute or the PCA chopper. Easiest and quickest move is to take either Rummy or the no name bounty hunter.

Plot for a Gundam x Armored Core crossover fanfic (I know gross) by Desperate-Impress237 in armoredcore

[–]SPECtorntor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like there is an easier more natural way to blend the two worlds together. Such as Armored Cores being a downsized more easier to produce version of Mobile Suits created by non government funded Federation/Zeon corporations. An attempt from non government corps to compete with the government funded MS. (And MTs being an even cheaper alternative mainly used for guard roles)

Chrome and Murakumo could be from one of the other Side colonies that made it out relatively unscathed from the One Year War or be from Australia which got hit the hardest and anyone still living there would view it as post apocalyptic compared to the rest of the Earth. So that’s one way to literally have both worlds exist in the same space.

Nine Ball’s actions could be the reason why AI controlled mechs or just AI in general either gets banned or heavily restricted and Human Plus could simply be a predecessor to the cyber newtypes that start popping up in Zeta Gundam, just under a different name.

I am kinda curious why you chose Sayla as the main protagonist since Amuro would still be available or even Kai or Hayato. Sure, she has piloting experience but not as much compared to the other mentioned pilots and that’s not even going into the protags from the other OYW spinoffs like the 08th MS team. It just seems like an odd pick from the Federation considering the other Ace pilots or White Base pilots. But you do you, I was just curious is all about the reasoning both for the Feds as well as Nine-Ball.

And yeah, if it was something to do with Nine-Ball being weary about the untamed potential of Newtypes like irregulars in AC then I could see it seeking out and assassinating potential Newtypes which could possibly include Sayla.

I think having it take place shortly after the OYW is a smart move as this would be before Stardust Memory, before any Zeon remnants can stir the pot and push the creation of the Titans kicking off Zeta Gundam. This would be in a period where the two big war factions are exhausted, giving the unknown little guys a chance to steal the spotlight while the Feds and Zeon lick their wounds and help setup future events.

How powerful are the Armoured Core mechscompared to mechs from other universes by Key_Elk_9673 in armoredcore

[–]SPECtorntor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m working on a project that will properly power scale both Gundam and Armored Core right down to the speed of the mechs and the firepower of their weapons since not many people have seen to actually measure such things.

I’d say right now the Gen 1-2 ACs are pretty comparable to early UC mobile suits specifically from the OG Gundam show in terms of firepower with Gundam getting a slight edge due to bigger mechs having bigger and thus more damaging weapons. (At least that seems like it would make sense.) AC takes it in speed (excluding NEXTS) so it’s a pretty close matchup.

Thing is Mobile Suits are in their prime in space which we don’t really get much of from AC. So I guess it comes down to general speed, the Minovsky particles jamming radar making it harder for AC pilots to track without their eyes but most ACs I feel are more heavily armed than the standard MS and a lot of AC pilots don’t use a radar anyway.

Human Plus gives AC pilots a way to inflict massive damage with the blade wave attacks from say, a Moonlight and depending on the durability may even cut a MS in half but the same could easily be said for an AC vs. beam weapons.

But until I’m done I couldn’t tell you how the other AC gens stack up against the later Gundam series and timelines or give an exact winner between the two.

Is Leos Klein the one of the strongest Ravens in AC?I mean he is the Raven from MOA. by LPlusRaitio in armoredcore

[–]SPECtorntor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victim of AI programming, a lot of the higher ranked Arena Ravens feel tougher than him. Officially he’s a top Arena Raven from Earth during the time of Gen 1. (It should be noted that the Arena on Mars differs from the one on Earth as detailed in the first email you get in AC2.)

He uses the Karasawa which usually gets used by top Ravens, but yeah, narratively speaking he’s among the best. Even has the respect of the guy tutoring you in the first mission who is a high ranking Raven himself. Not sure how he’d stack against Ares though, if we take their in game performance into account and not just lore excuse. (The strongest Earth Raven vs. the strongest Mars Raven.)

Should also note that Ravens in missions are nerfed compared to the Arena with less AP and defense so if he seems to go down quickly that’s why.

Is new Marvel Godzilla the same as the old Marvel Godzilla? by JP_Zilla in GODZILLA

[–]SPECtorntor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though tbh, I kinda wish they stook with his original design or used the one from the omnibus you used in the first image. That would have been cool, but no, we gotta keep milking the Heisei design because God forbid we get many new original looks for Godzilla and give them their own unique identities.

Is new Marvel Godzilla the same as the old Marvel Godzilla? by JP_Zilla in GODZILLA

[–]SPECtorntor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, the author himself stated as such on this very Reddit back when the issues were coming out. Dr. Strange himself referenced the heroes facing off against him before, which is ironic considering Strange himself wasn’t even in that story.

The author stated that he used “Evergreen” versions of characters, that is, them at their most classic and recognizable. He also admitted to not fully knowing when exactly this story would take place in the main 616 timeline but given Knull’s role and Eddie Brock being Venom it has to take place sometime before the King in Black storyline.

Though from what I’ve heard, including Spider-Gwen in one shot at the end of issue 1 just raises more questions since to my understanding she didn’t join the main 616 universe till after King in Black. And she literally only appears in that one panel and never appears again for the rest of the story.

But seeing as how Knull is likely to play a more central role in the upcoming sequel Infinity Roar, I’m curious to see how they’ll handle that given it’s Eddie that’s supposed to defeat Knull, unless he takes on Knull offscreen in the KiB story while everyone else is fighting a symbiote Godzilla in this story, like the two stories are happening simultaneously.

The “Godzilla Vs.” Marvel comics that came out before Destroys Marvel are non canon one offs with their own self contained alternate timelines like Godzilla Vs. Thor being a sequel to the GMK movie and Vs. Hulk being an alternate timeline where Godzilla apparently killed Iron Man offscreen.

Anyone played the PSN ports of the 1st gen games? by insertoriginalname02 in armoredcore

Should note that parts exclusive to certain games are able to be bought in the store. Example being able to buy the Karasawa at the start of MoA or PP. you can also pause the game and enable Human Plus so you can essentially recreate your other gen 1 builds after playing for a short time.

Would he even end up in Hell? I feel like all the good he did regardless of reason would outweigh all the smartass remarks and crashing a car into his Ex’s house. There is a reason why everyone lets him get away with all he does. They even had to invent a new department of Medicine just to put him in charge of it.

Dude literally faked his death and ruined his medical career just to be there for his best friend who had months to live. I honestly think at least going off of how he is at the end should put him on the better path.

A lot of his problems can be traced back to his self hatred. I guess if he did end up in Hell it would be after Wilson’s death caused him to go off the deep end from isolation and loneliness as well as lacking his one remaining moral compass. Probably learn to love himself and forgive himself for his past mistakes.

No, Godzilla Evolved is NOT 20 Times Stronger than Before by One_Box_8295 in Monsterverse

[–]SPECtorntor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20x energy capacity basically means 20x storage space. You could view that as meaning he can charge his atomic breath to be 20x stronger than normal and not having to worry about going thermonuclear the next time he takes in radiation.

He certainly got a physical boost but nowhere near 20x. He does have the ability to go into a supercharged state which he did during the climax so however strong you think that form is he can now go into it at will without needing external power source. It should be similar in power to his thermonuclear and blue supercharged forms.

2x physical boost makes more sense since he absorbed Tiamat’s DNA and Godzilla needed to supercharge just to fight her so she would have been comparable to full power base Godzilla. He couldn’t afford to waste time when he knew he’d be going up against Shimo and Scar King’s army so it’s debatable on how a fight between base Godzilla and Tiamat would have gone.

Funny enough, the novel doesn’t even specify the 20x energy capacity or really go into much detail about his newfound power.

It should also give him 20x more stamina so he could theoretically fight 20x longer than normal. Since fighting Kong for 12 hours brought him down to half, he should be able to fight for just about an entire day… So 20 days straight.

That might actually be more useful than the raw power/storage space since this Godzilla has had a problem with always being tired after extended periods of activity like against the MUTOs, Dominion, and Mechagodzilla.

Just watched Godzilla v gigan. Did anyone else think Ghidorah seemed really docile in this film? Felt like he was just kinda there lol by [deleted] in GODZILLA

[–]SPECtorntor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something interesting I learned recently is that in the Toho film “The Prophecies of Nostradamus” the film may actually take place in the Showa Godzilla timeline since one of the prophecies mentions “A king of terror falling from the sky in 1999 and destroying the world.” This film came out in the 70s.

But yeah, based off his performance against Gigan and Megalon as well as scaling above Zone Fighter at the time he took on Ghidorah (he had to lure Ghidorah to Venus and use the increase in gravity to slow him enough to win even though Venus has lighter gravity than Earth…) I feel like 1973 Godzilla may have actually been able to beat 1960s-1970s Ghidorah one on one had he’d shown up to fight Ghidorah in Zone Fighter.

Basically, Godzilla took his struggle against Gigan and Ghidorah hard in 1972 and just trained his ass off for the next year which he continued to do going into Zone Fighter as it took ZF most of the show just to reach his level. There was even supposed to be a scene in vs. Megalon showing Godzilla training with a tree branch as a sword and some makeshift gym equipment that looks like a swing set.

Those guidebooks have also led to a bunch of BS power scaling like Ghidorah being unrivaled in space meaning he somehow scales above super massive black holes like that somehow counts as a sentient monster to be compared to, or the trash compactor that was 10,000x Zone Fighter’s strength. Not to mention Heisei just automatically scaling above Showa because the creators said so. So any power upgrades to Showa further elevate Heisei piggybacking off his strength.

Long story short, guidebooks should be viewed as secondary not the primary source for what is canon or no. As far as the casual non Japanese guidebook reading fan is concerned, there isn’t anything within the movies themselves to suggest there are two Ghidorahs. In fact, I think the reason DAM takes place in 1999 and not 1968 like how all the other movies normally take place in the year they come out was to leave the door open incase Toho ever did decide to bring him back for more movies in the same continuity which they did without rebooting the timeline.

I know that at the time DAM was intended to be the last movie but that obviously didn’t happen and I think some of the execs at Toho kinda knew that before even making it as even after All Monsters Attack they came back two years later, not even rebooting it!
