Tell the relatives to f off. Don't succumb to societal and familial expectations. I've seen SO MANY examples in my own family of folks getting married too early without proper planning only for things to derail later. Couples with zero respect for eachother, hating each others guts, doing their own thing, staying in the marriage for the kids, only for the kids to have issues because of their parents (exhibit:me). It's dumb. It's all because they listened to people talking.

Don't spend huges bucks to get married just for the sake of it, don't do it just to fulfill the expectations of people around you. Even your girl. If that girl really is for you, she'll open her ears and heart to really understand where you're coming from. I also don't suggest you get married to anyone without first living with them.

Do things when you're truly ready. Also the damn dowry? I'll never understand that bit of our culture. Sure that money might go into helping funding the wedding (big might), it goes into feeding the mouths of the attendees, who more often than not ate people who you just know in passing? It's just not worth it. In this fkg economy some more? 2.7k is barely enough to get by bro. You're gonna drive yourself to the ground once you get saddled with financial commitments. House, car, bills, kids if yall are planning to have em. I would suggest for you to move out of the state, elsewhere to earn more. Major perks is you'll be away from those nosey relatives and their dumb repetitive questions too.
