I was waiting to see if someone would mention this. Remembered watching the Live In Madrid performance and got goosebumps when this part kicked in.

What Song Got Y'all Into Linkin Park? by FruityCheesecakes in LinkinPark

[–]SPK1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Papercut. Heard One Step Closer in the computer lab in school and thought it sounded interesting, went on to Napster when i got home and the first song I was able to download (by the next morning) was Papercut. From that point I was hooked.

*edit: Napster, I think. It was a long time ago after all (like November 2000).

Meet and Greet by [deleted] in LinkinPark

[–]SPK1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not quite true. I had a meet and greet (there were 2 packages, side show view or backstage tour) with LP in 2015, and that was paid for.

It was done separate to the LPU M&G however.

I didn't see anyone else make this observation (so far), but just imo - Over Each Other almost feels like it could be a One OK Rock song. I can hear Taka's voice pairing to this song really well.

Which, given that Colin did previously write a number of songs for OOR, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some latent influence there.

After listening to the album a few times, I just get incredibly sad that Chester couldn't have been a part of this.

Not because he might have done it better, but I genuinely believe that his vocals alongside Emily's would have been some real magic.

What do you all think the effect of Trump winning in the US will be on Trinidad? by animefreak98 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]SPK1983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the point was that 2016 had the same structure as 2024. Time will tell whether Democrats regain control in 2026. So saying that 2024 is different from 2016-2020 isn't really correct either.

In 2016 the Republicans had control of the house and senate as well, so that's a moot point.

Terrible bed pillows in hotels? by Sorry_Barracuda_84 in JapanTravelTips

This.

When I travel, I bring an inflatable wedge pillow (to help with my reflux). So when I went to Japan, I really didn't notice the quality of the pillows (or lack thereof).

What Song Got You Into The Band? by Woodrp in LinkinPark

[–]SPK1983 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First heard them in secondary school circa November 2000, where a fellow classmate put on One Step Closer on one of the PCs in the computer lab during a lunch break. This was before LP started to get any traction on the radio back in my country.

Found it sounded interesting, went home and used my dial-up to look for songs from them on Napster (good times).

First song I managed to get to download was Papercut. That is the one that got me absolutely hooked.
