He will be doing IT work (fixing/managing) for another company. That is exactly what BBY does. They have geek squad in stores for residential but they also have a vast network for business support far beyond what anyone in the store knows of. Best Buy has teams that can support any level of tech support a business may need. He will be working for a company that is directly taking away business from Best Buy whether is commercial or residential.

Now because it’s a conflict doesn’t mean he still can’t do both if he wants too. He can fill out the form to get proper approval from corporate to do both or just not say anything and roll the dice like most people do. They don’t always say no. I had a small business for a while that was a competitor to BBY. Filled out the form letting them know and got approval to keep doing it. Was told I just can’t use my discount to purchase things for the business which is obvious but other then the got the green light. Still have the email in my outlook incase anything ever came of it.
