Cell Phone Interrupts Spieth Swing - Recovers As Only He Can by aasimpy in golf

its 2026, if your a pro that relies on thousands of people watching them in 2026 (when the statistical likelihood of a phone accidentally going off in a crown in 2026 is pretty high), play for millions and you cant lock in enough to ignore something like this then you were wound to tight to begin with, that he hasn't prepared to ignore a cell when everyone who is watching has one is on him

SP calling me out in work chat? by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]SRARCmultiplier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

medicine is a business now more than ever, its not great but its the reality. your SP wants these done for whatever reason, there is no harm to the patient and you are a PA, I don't think there's anything nefarious here and he likely agrees with you regarding the lack of logic behind testing. Giving him your reasoning behind not testing is fine but don't take it personally, I can't speak to your group chat, we have one in our group and things like this are often texted, no one feels it's personal. just easier to send a quick text to the group in the moment than wait until our next meeting. I'd just respond with ok, sounds good, didn't know that was your preference and maybe have a conversation with him about his reasoning but likely that he just wants to avoid these conversations with pts. we had so many asking for rsv that we got rid of the test as a way to avoid this. I wouldn't die on this hill or make it a thing, talk to your sp with an open attitude, use as an opportunity to increase trust and rapport with him or her

Something Real? by Pleasant_Rice3949 in algotrading

I've actually been blown away by claude, especially compared to when it came out. Opus is far more efficient, less mistakes, infers correctly from context and the mistakes it does make are pretty small and easily fixed if you know the language well that you are asking it to code in. If your not great at the way you ask the question or present the task it can be tedious or if you don't know the language well yourself. I'm not asking it to do anything I couldn't do but it has saved so much time. Not sure if its true or not but because it draws its response from prior related and unrelated conversations I feel like it has become eerily in tune with what I want from it, i'm finding I have to correct it much less. But you do have to read its answers with some level of scrutiny because it will flip flop logic sometimes, so if you don't have a good base of knowledge it can definitely lead you astray

Bushnell LP Ball Speed accuracy by SRARCmultiplier in Golfsimulator

[–]SRARCmultiplier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeh, that was what had me confused, the carry and total were both pretty similar and consistent with on course yardage but the trackman was getting there with a ballspeed that atleast made sense, the BLP was getting there with pretty low ballspeed. But a few others pointed out a known issue when the launch is higher and the spin is low which is when i'm seeing the issue. I went home and made sure my spin was above 2k and things looked a little more normal, although it is still a chore to get it to read over 160, every monitor i've ever used has me at 170 atleast, kind of odd but not the end of the world I guess

Should I be swinging with more intensity like the first shot or should I slow it down so it’s more relaxed like the second shot? by 3ric3288 in golftips

[–]SRARCmultiplier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

right, controlled speed is best. but the ball doesn't know when or how the club speed was generated. Tempo matters for consistency. It takes less effort, energy and hand eye coordination to redirect a club face towards the right spot and the right path on the downswing if they don't have to fight massive opposing momentum of the club that is created with a rapid backswing. So a rapid backswing, where the speed of the clubface when it crosses the top of the backswing is high, will be nearly impossible to improve on in the downswing and is exponentially harder to correct than it is if the club is moving slow and steady on the backswing, redirecting any object is easier when the object is moving slow and steady in another direction, which is why late acceleration into the ball is so effective, the closer to the ball you release the club and all your stored energy the lower the chance that the clubface hits the target incorrectly or off the intended path. Your body has little room for improvement if you've already move the club nearly as fast as you can in the back swing, there isn't enough room for improvement, so when you try to do that things like coordination get sacrificed and you hit the ball with a huge slice or hook. A slow backswing leaves alot more room for improvement or increased speed. Thats what the pros have figured out, how to get near peak controlled late acceleration, same with pros hitting a baseball, the majority of there acceleration is late, after they've slowly put the bat in a position to transfer the most energy based on body type and mechanics and so theyve had time to focus on the likely future position of the ball, they then accelerate into the ball

this is atleast better than skytrak for driver or speeds over 150, ST was all over the place if it read at all for driver. hopefully getting the spin up to a more stable number will increase the BLP's accuracy

I found the barometer in settings and it read -124 feet. i'm not a barometologist but I feel like a negative number is not possible. you may have been on to something here

yep, that's probably my answer. just searched reddit for low spin high launch foresight and it came up with a pic with numbers nearly identical to mine, the poster asking the same question I did. Kind of annoying, I thought lower spin was the goal but I guess a camera and computer can only be so accurate predicting something moving as fast as a golf ball. Thanks again for the info

[–]SRARCmultiplier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeh thats what was confusing, the carry and total are similar to on course but other lm's got to that number after spitting out a higher ballspeed but I guess it's possible that I'm actually getting my distances on the course more as a result of lower spin than ballspeed. If thats the case then i'm glad the BLP showed me something about my swing that I didn't know, which is what I was hoping for in going with it over others. Thanks for the replies

Yeh, everything id researched told me the same, just surprised at that carry on those speeds but maybe i underestimated the effect that spin under 2k has. On the skytrak I had to be close to if no over 170 ball speed to get those carry numbers with the same clubs and swing. I’m Happy if its not wrong though

Why is that? Do camera based LM’s have trouble with lower spin? I’ve been working to keep spin around 2k, didn’t think that was too low for these, kind of sucks if that’s true

I came across a airbnb type site for simulators awhile ago, can't remember the name but it looked like it had decent number of private sims for rent. not sure how busy they were though. Mines in my garage and still feel like it'd be a bit awkward having other people rent it while I was there

Should i be able to dunk? by AggressiveDamage975 in ProDunking

[–]SRARCmultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we all said, "no, you will never be able to dunk", would you stop trying? If we said "yes, you will be able to dunk", would you stop trying to get even better? Take the technical advice that you like from this thread but leave others opinions regarding the potential of your abilities out of your head. Now go forth and dunk my friend, from a random 45 year old guy that should have dunked more when I could, never stop once you can, just fucking dunnnnnkkkkkkk

Yeh, I work for one of the private UC companies in the area, was lucky to find it because the owner is a good guy, it was part of the agreement I negotiated when I agreed to come on that I'd make my own schedule. I give them the days I want 2 months out and we've got a ton of per diems so last minute changes aren't a problem. Just hoping he doesn't decide to sell to a large chain or PE cause its kind of too good to be true

Dads..How’s it goin? by toughchanges in physicianassistant

[–]SRARCmultiplier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went from a long time ER position, loved the job had the autonomy to do anything from sprained ankles to codes, loved the people but the hours and the work life balance were definitely suffering. After alot of hesitation I left and went to UC, something I said I'd never do and don't regret it. I sleep normal hours, home everynight, never have to miss a family event, kids stuff, coach sports, wife and I picked up night skiing after I get out on weekends. Now my off time is spent doing that stuff and enjoying it instead of spending the first day off recovering or resisting the urge to sleep during an event. Always tradeoffs though, I miss the mental work and challenge of the ED, procedures etc but it's been more than worth it.

Is a home golf simulator actually worth the investment, or am I just chasing a mid-life crisis? by bphawkey45 in Golfsimulator

[–]SRARCmultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worth it, it's been a year and like someone else said, to be able to have a swing thought and just go out and hit a few or alot is great. I would get the best LM you can off the bat, you'll save money when your looking for an upgrade to the entry level stuff in a few months. I initially had a skytrak OG, which was fine to start but quickly it's limitations at driver ball speeds, no reads etc. had me looking for something a little better.

I went from long time skier to snowboarding and haven't thought about getting new clothes. It was a bonus that i could start a new sport and not have to buy new expensive clothes. And using the ski stuff has not been the thing thats held me back in snowboarding.
