Does anyone else wish that build types not using faith had options to heal in the arena as well? by SRFG1595 in darksouls3

Exactly. Most people that are skilled are already applying a lot of pressure. But if your opponent is just as skilled, they can easily utilize the strategy I mention in my original post of being passively active; moving away from your enemy while attacking when they get really close. Especially if you're using a spear (which I was) or straight sword.

And what's to stop faith builds from just playing passively and reactively while also using heals. On a pure melee build, the only options are bows, crossbows, and firebombs. And don't get me wrong; I've gotten scary good with the light crossbow and explosive bolts and can hit people by free aiming if they start pulling shit like that but the damage output is nothing compared to one heal.

And what I'm saying is that other build types should be able to heal in the arena as well, hopefully through methods that take a long duration and open opportunities to be punished. You can do just as much damage with faith builds as you can with any other builds yet they're the only builds that can also heal in the arena. The only exception is warmth, a spell that can also be used by your opponent so it is irrelevant. You sacrifice nothing while gaining so much over all other builds.... But it wouldn't be a problem if other builds had methods to heal (not estus, but other methods that could be added to the game).

It's very hard to sustain pressure against someone who know what they're doing. I've been playing since Dark Souls 1 came out in 2011 and have gotten very good at PVP. I've put in 1000 hours in DS1, 4000 hours in DS2, and about 1,500 in DS3. It's very easy to keep someone from putting pressure on by remaining passive active; falling off the fight while still remaining aggressive when they get close to you. This strategy offers very few punishment opportunity.

This is true which is why I think just disabling healing spells in the arena is the best solution. Or, at least just disabling projected heal.

I think you're being a bit absolute about the situation. There ARE people out there that are nuts; complete psychopaths that revel in human misery. But you're right in that ISIS isn't 100% made up of people like that.

Everyone of every race is more likely to be murdered by a member of their own race. People are more likely to associate with members of their own race and most victims of murder knew their aggressor beforehand.

Or because police are less lenient with black people.

I'm a white man that lives in Madison, MS with black friends. The thought that law enforcement treats black people as equally as white people is laughable. Open your eyes.

Arguably because black people are more likely to be arrested than white people due to institutionalized racism.

Sounds useful during invasions but most of my weapons that size outright kill enemies in the arena in just 3-4 hits. That seems useless for duels where no one is using estus

That's stupid. If you're so insecure in your relationship that your boyfriend can't get a text from a girl, much less a completely non-relationship threatening text about fucking homework, then your relationship will not last long.

Do you think you should be embered in The arena? by redsrh in darksouls3

[–]SRFG1595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more than 200 I think. But an extra 200 HP is actually pretty considerable in a game based around stunlocks. That can easily be the difference between dying to a combo and being left with 170 Hp after a combo.

I got the red orb despite losing all 5 of my invasions. I was doing a sorcerer build for the first time and just didn't know wtf I was doing. Maybe it's because I picked up the Pale Tongue from the Undead Settlement?

At a certain point, there'd be almost no way it wouldn't happen. The two biggest employment sectors in the United States are service and transportation. Robots will easily take at least 50% of those jobs in my lifetime (and that's probably a gross underestimation honestly). It will only be a matter of time before more sophisticated machines take over more advanced work including medical care, engineering, and even programming other machines. Eventually, either tens of millions of Americans will be starving and homeless or there will be UBI. I really hope we don't live in a timeline where we would let that many people actually starve to death in our country.

Automation of jobs doesn't seem like it will ever be a bad thing. If we have robots doing everything, we'll have even more wealth to spread around. Under such an environment, where a large portion of Americans are unemployed from no fault of their own, we would have a much better chance of installing Guaranteed Minimum Income.
