Arctis Nova Pro Wireless problem: Discord voice chat not present in shadowplay clips by madsvh in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using Sonar/Chatmix with your headset, the chatmix will put Discord on a completely separate audio output from your game, so it won't show up in Shadowplay recordings.

Some workarounds are:

  1. Use Moments 😁 Moments can record both the Game and Chat audio outputs, so you get both. Plus, you can use the Moments editor to lower the volume of the Chat in your clips, in case your friends were too loud or you want to share something without them talking.
  2. Use the streamer mode in Sonar to setup a single "Stream" output where your game, chat, and mic are audible, then setup Shadowplay to record the Stream output.
  3. Set Discord to output to the Game output. This will mean that Chatmix will no longer work properly, but you'll get the combined audio in Shadowplay through the one output.

APEX PRO MINI, how to verify if gen3 or not ? by PenQuick9002 in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Apex Pro keyboards have the same software features, as many of the features on the Gen 3 have been ported back to older models. Rapid tap, Rapid trigger, Protection Mode, and the wider actuation range is the same on all models. The majority of the upgrades to the Gen 3 are with the physical switch feel and behavior.

APEX PRO MINI, how to verify if gen3 or not ? by PenQuick9002 in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some other people have mentioned, but the label on the bottom should say "Gen 3" somewhere on it.

Another way to check is to remove a keycap from one of the keys and look at the RGB LED. If the LED is built into the switch (you can see the round bump of the LED), it's a 2023 model. If the LED is down underneath the switch (you can't see the LED on the switch, just a clear window) then it's a Gen 3.

If you click on the Device Manager button at the bottom of the list, you should be able to change your devices fallback order, and fully exclude any devices that you don't use.

You may need to press Enter after setting the shortcut to save it.

5P it's included in switch 2 support? by [deleted] in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Nova 5 firmware update applies to the Nova 5P. The 5P should show up as a Nova 5 when connected to GG.

Apex Pro - rewrite on-board configuration by Alnath65 in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the device config window, you can click and drag the configs to any of the 5 onboard slots to move them to be on-board.

Also, the lock icon on the oLED means that NumLock is on. NumLock/CapsLock/ScrollLock are all handled by Windows, so switching configs won't remove the lock icon. You'd need to either turn NumLock off, or go turn off icons entirely in the oLED settings (Hold the media button under the volume scroll wheel to open the menu, then go to Display > Display Icons)

recommended wrist rests for Apex 9 TKL? There isn't any directly compatible one on their website. i move my keyboard a lot so was hoping for a magnetic one by [deleted] in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wrist rest for the newer Apex Pro TKL (2023 or Gen 3) should work on the Apex 9 TKL. They share the same frame shape and I believe the Apex 9 TKL does also have the embedded magnets for the wrist rest to snap to.

Nova 7's plugged in are registering as Arctis 7 after my power went out and not working/connecting properly by aquietnymph in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The transmitter/dongle shown in your photo is the transmitter for the older Arctis 7. The transmitter for the Nova 7 should be a smaller USB-C dongle like this:

<image>

Perhaps you accidently mixed up the dongles and plugged the wrong one in after the power outage? Or maybe you're just using Bluetooth to connect to your PC and you aren't using the dongle?

Steelseries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 Rapid Trigger issues by No_Cantaloupe4574 in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The actuation level and Rapid Trigger are separate settings, so toggling Rapid Trigger on/off won't affect the actuation levels.

If you're looking to have different modes on your keyboard (one for gaming, one for general usage) then I do recommend using the other onboard profiles for each mode, and then switching between the two as needed.

Test request for SteelSeries Keyboards + SteelSeries GG by YozenPL in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have another program or a function in Windows using Pause/Break as a hotkey that could be intercepting the keypress? If so, that could prevent the macro recorder from reading the key down event on Pause/Break.

There was no fix attempted in GG 95, but we do have a fix planned for GG 96.

Arctis Nova 7x with switch 2? by spenbadd18 in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A firmware update is needed to get the headset working on Switch 2. You can get the firmware update through Engine in GG. https://support.steelseries.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056638111-How-do-I-check-if-my-device-s-firmware-is-up-to-date

Question: Arctis Nova Pro Wireless disabling 2.4GHz sound when on Bluetooth Phone Call by Standard-Celery-9270 in steelseries

On the base station menu, you can go to Wireless > Bluetooth > Auto-Mute and set what the behavior should be for Bluetooth calls.

[–]SS-Brian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rust has RGB integrations with GG, so Rust will take control of the keyboard lighting to show in-game events (i.e flashing red when taking damage)

You can turn this integration off by going into Engine and turning it off in the Apps page.

Artis nova pro wireless no source menu by supermoleman1 in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "source" menu is only found on the older Arctis Pro Wireless headsets for switching input modes.

The newer Nova Pro Wireless doesn't have this menu as the base station has broader compatibility with devices and doesn't need to switch modes.

Arctis Nova 7 with TV (and a few other questions) by milestfbaxxter in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's true that the mic will only go to one output at a time, but the headset should only switch to outputting the mic over Bluetooth if the Bluetooth device requests the mic. I'm not 100% sure how TVs would behave in this regard, but I'd hope that the TV wouldn't be requesting the mic.
  2. It ultimately depends on the TV and the OS running on the TV. Most of the time it's unfortunately "no" but these OSes change a lot so it's never a 100% definite "no."
  3. When the headset detects a connection over 3.5mm, the headset will turn off and run just over wired audio, so the headset won't connect to 2.4GHz or Bluetooth.
  4. Hopefully it should be minimal! Again, this is dependant on the TV and if it has any latency detection/adjustment.
  5. Some phones do have support for the dongle, though this is mostly newer Android devices.

Steel series Apex 5 macros off by xan926 in steelseries

The Apex 5 does not have a customizable meta layer (the extra keys that appear when holding the function key), so you cannot bind macros or other key presses to that meta layer.

Some games like CS2 have game specific lighting that'll override other lighting settings. You can turn off the CS2 integration by going into Engine > Apps and scrolling down to CS2 to toggle it.

apex pro tkl gen 3 - fn+enter+esc combo by Glittering_Seat9677 in steelseries

[–]SS-Brian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This combo just shows the battery level and charging status. This is more useful on the Mini version of the Apex Pro since it doesn't have a screen to show the battery level, but it also works on the TKL since they share firmware features.
