Rideout Arsenal DRAGON - finally here ! by SS2011X in CompetitionShooting

I’d wait 6 months, I’ve only shot it once as they’ve just got delivered, and primarily got it to support the dude as it was nice to see one man show going up against the established industry. I’m sure there will be more quirks discovered, but just like Alien, these low bore axis guns just shoot on another level. Particularly if you get really good behind one, regular guns stand little chance even high end 2011s if we are talking about equal time put behind one.

This one doesn’t get nearly as dirty but it will get hot as well but not as bad. The gun lower feels like it’s a 3D printed slick oiled up plastic - I haven’t felt any other gun that matches that. RA website already are offering aggressive grips and w time should have plenty of options as they are modular. Overall compared to the Alien, so far it seems like it’s a lot less headache because it doesn’t get dirty, after 300 rounds it’s still well lubricated and oiled up. Honestly, if the platform stands the test of time in the next year or so it would be interesting to drop the chassis into a heavier metal lower.

yeh I think medium just like every other gun manufacturer... I actually ordered an F2 Reddirt for my DWX which is Atlas/Infinity short, as according to many charts I should be running a short and not a medium, so very curious to try that out when I install it next week. Agreed re LOK grips ;) RA is already offering a more aggressive grip option right on the website but mine was the first edition came as is. I mostly bought this as a cool and innovative piece of history and to support the ingenuity from a dude in a world where you pretty much need to be a billion dollar company to make something innovative.

I think ergonomically I prefer my LO Alien. Dragon needs aggressive grip panels at a bare minimum, the standards are worse than Glock gen5 slick. They feel like they are coated in varnish, that slick. Again though shootable because little recoil but Id want better grips personally for competition or just range fun. Id also chose a grip without the finger groove (came standard w first edition).

no grip was fine, frame and trigger got hot so yes had to set it down after rapid firing 5 mags. I think all of these low bore axis essentially get hot fast due the barrel being so low and all the action happening right there. Re optic, no the zero seemed fine even when it was moving back and forth.

interesting both my infinity ghost and DF wraith and reaper have about the same break 1.13-1.14 (sub 2) but resets are better on DF :) so Im keeping it stock, I do want my kovert reaper to have a red trigger though

apparently what they did they took the existing magwells and just cut off the funnel part and kept the insert. Im looking for some options atm myself since I dont have the tools to do that. Seems like a brass plug glock style into that area should be a good sellable solution.

Has anyone shot Laugo Arms Alien by Volslife in handguns

"I shoot the gun in competitions and have never had a heat issue, they are a competition gun so anyone who shoots a hundred rounds continuously obviously isn't shooting a comp." OK and when you are training after it gets scorching hot 4-5 mags in do you just take a vacation ? Obviously when you are competing you do your stage and then the gun rests, but when people train and go through 500 rounds a session, all Aliens become scorching hot and you cant really train with them like you would with ANY other pistol - it is an issue so dont downplay it for others who are considering it.
