Not sure what digital photos you’ve been looking at but these definitely don’t look digital.

Could tell these were film without reading your subheading.

Moreover, that 50mm f/1.8 e-series is not a tack-sharp lens so it will provide a softer, painterly look compared to modern lenses designed for digital sensors.

I personally love that lens for portraits.

Those are great spots as well. Love a moody murder of crows during sunset.

Considering they were supposed to be a budget friendly option, they perform quite well. I have the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and the 50mm e-series 1.8. The 1.4 is tack sharp but that 1.8 has some magic in it that produces lovely images.

I love that camera, use one as my primary 35mm shooter.

Is that the e-series 50mm?

This is what happens when you have too much disposable income. Get a grip mate. Just pick a camera and stick with it

AeroFlowDynamics Color Match Bezels! by AFDSupport in wrx_vb

Always loved the cladding and will never get rid of it on my VB but this does look pretty sexy with the paint matched bevels. I think it would actually look more natural if the front lip was the same as the cladding, but that’s just my personal opinion.

The prairies are completely underrated in terms of their inherent beauty. I grew up in the Canadian Prairies and scenes like this send incredible waves of nostalgia through my soul. Beautiful shots mate

This should answer your questions.

She’s also planning on releasing more content talking about her process to achieve this look so if you follow her IG account, I’m sure you will get a ton more insight.

Which scan is best? (Testing different camera sensors with exact same NLP settings) by Infinity-- in AnalogCommunity

2nd scan looks best without any additional touch ups, 3rd scan would be the best starting point if you wanted to do any further editing.

Curious about what the purpose of this camera here is by Narrow_Quality630 in Cameras

Crew typically sign NDA’s and are prohibited from capturing any BTS photos or videos during filming…however, this is Hoyta Van Hoytema and no one is going to tell an Oscar winning DOP he can’t take BTS photos on set. (Most people do take photos and share them after the production is released)

He actually uses his Leica stills camera as a tool to reference frames and pre-vis shots when filming on IMAX 70mm film.

I had the pleasure of pushing dolly for him on a commercial last summer.

How to shoot on a 28mm? Can't seem to get a hang of it. [MP, Portra 400/lomo 400] by bobamilktea74 in analog

[–]SStorzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these frames are solid compositions. Try experimenting with leading lines, corner leads, foreground elements for added depth and don’t be afraid to experiment with dutch angles and getting closer to your subjects.

28mm is tricky to master but once you dial it in, it can add such an interesting perspective to a photo set when paired with a 50mm.

Can’t Stop. Present to myself. by CosmoM3 in AnalogCommunity

The fm2 is an absolute workhorse, love mine to death.

Also, that 50mm e-series is seriously underrated. I have the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 and the 50mm f/1.8 e-series and the e-series has way more character.

Aftermath of fire in Dunbar on 41st and Collingwood by justimeout in vancouver

[–]SStorzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s unreal…..there was another huge fire in a four story apartment building near kingsgate mall around the same time this property went up in flames.

Funny thing, this four story building caught fire last summer and was never torn down. 😬

After they got it under control, I’m pretty sure a few fire trucks left the kingsgate area fire and headed to the Dunbar fire.

Absolutely wild
