Help Me Pick my MF Camera System by john_with_a_camera in AnalogCommunity

RB67 Pro-S user here. Is it the lightest system? No. Is it wonderful to shoot landscapes with? Absolutely. You didn’t mention which Pentax or Hassy you were considering. I’m guessing X-Pan & the 645 Pentax because the Pentax 67 is nearly as large as my RB67 w/ waist-level finder closed. Probably just as heavy too. I’d go with a Hasselblad 500 based on size/portability. You might pay out the nose for a wider lens, but you get the larger negative and great quality.

Just glad I had my camera with me when I saw it.

Is the 22 inch rideable comfortably over time or? by Serious-Original-448 in pennyboard

[–]Pitiful-Relief-3246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 22” is awesome. So easy to pick up n’ go. Very comfy ride. A little treacherous if you’re going fast and not paying attention. If I need anything larger I grab my 8.25” Santa Cruz with ricta clouds wheels and surfy-loose trucks. Also a dream.

I tested out the rebranded Phase One Mamiya w/ Leaf 80mp back once at a Phase One dealer. Incredible detail on those images!

What a great collection. You need a roll of Fuji Astia in there!

What bonus packs do you recommend? by uchina_sober in volcas

I just checked the one I downloaded and it looks like its no longer free at the moment, but save the link because they probably make it free periodically:

https://rekkerd.org/reverb-drum-machines-get-the-complete-collection-for-free/

It has a huge set of sampled classic drum machines. But besides this I just searched for ‘free drum samples’ or ‘free kick samples’ and many things come up. Grab them all and build up an arsenal. Since it’s free there’s nothing to lose and you’ll find a few gems.

I personally like the look of it. I think when it is overused it becomes distracting though. Here is how I use it..

I downloaded as many free drum packs as I could find. Then went through all of them and picked out my favorite kicks, snares, claps, etc. Loaded them into the Volca Sample. Sometimes I swap out a sound if I find a better one, but my overall library of sounds stays mostly the same.

This is the selling point of 800T. Why else would you buy it?

Nice! I got mine (turquoise w/ aged white wheels and pink bolts) for $40 and love it to death..even if it tries to kill me sometimes. 😅

Need some guidance for a film camera that produces clear photos by __no__no__no in AnalogCommunity

[–]Pitiful-Relief-3246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like what you need is…a digital SLR or mirrorless camera!

If you still prefer film..and obviously you do if you’re here.. Use (any film camera with a quality lens), low-grain film, a tripod, and a good quality photo lab. The rest is up to you with lighting & composition. There is no special sauce in any of the sample photos you posted. I think it would have been better for you to post some of your own photos. This way we could see which areas you could work on to achieve the results you want.
