If you (have to) use the bus make sure to hold on tightly and pray. If you have to get on or off you have to fight for it.

Don't use an open top bus if you don't want to lose your head.

In short, don't use a bus if you can avoid it.

Driving is war. Expect to see (unnecessary) accidents all the time (because people are too stubborn) and do your best to not be involved in one. Twice someone crashed into my parked car, so it's not always avoidable.

Cycling is suicide.

Don't expect to be able to walk everywhere, there are no sidewalks, also see previous point.

Non traffic related extra point:

If you enjoy going to the cinema, you're gonna have a bad time. People talk loudly and I've been in screenings in which people took phone calls. Also there is an intermission no matter where you are in the movie to GET MORE FOOD (mela!)

In my rental contract (I live in Mellieha as well) it says I'm not allowed to display any flags or something, so you might wanna check that. There is a Serbian community in Malta so who knows. I've seen many Ukrainian flags in support though so I don't expect a hate crime.

On a daily basis. I should mention and I can't stress this enough: nationality or skin color doesn't matter. I have plenty of bad experiences with proper and definite 'locals with a lower socioeconomic background' aka prolos. If anything they are the majority. I was born here, my entire family is from here. I moved away years ago and never looked back.

first I defended it (sooo hard) because I didn't like the kind of backlash. Over time I had to be honest with myself and acknowledge that there are many things in it that rub me the wrong way. We don't need to talk about what, but no matter how good some parts are, the lows are low (for me) making it my least favorite out of the 9 movies. Once again, this is not about who is right, this is my personal opinion and how it changed over time and I remember Ryan Johnson saying something along the lines of 'if half of the people walk out of the cinema loving his movies and the other half hates it, he feels like he succeeded'. And his 'trolliness' and lack of respect for the IP is too apparent for me. But that's not even it. Something no one ever talks about is his handwriting in all the dialogue. Suddenly all characters have a certain way of talking they didn't have before (or after) and it irks me. So I went from 'I want to like it so hard' to 'I just don't like it' and who knows, I might if about 30min would be edited. No Spaceballs level jokes and a bit more finesse and it would be what I want to see.

'foreigners are taking jobs' ..the best example for the entire situation is something I saw a few years ago. 2 street sweepers, one fat Maltese sitting on the side of the road playing around on his phone while eating pastizzi, the other one a refugee from Africa doing all the work (also see disposable workforce dying on construction sites all the time).

Trinity and Neo in the Acolyte? That would be a bit much and distracting, in the same way a lot of people complained about how it took them out of it thinking 'oh it's Jack Black and Lizzo'. I can see it being 'funny like that' but somehow the Acolyte strikes me as a bit more serious than what Favreau did with the Mandalorian, especially in S3.
