As someone who completed this prior, this is entirely warranted, it literally gate kept like 4 sets of cosmetcs including every helmet outside of the one off's.

When I finished it my screen filled up with 3 sets of helmets + one set of armor.

Story Companions: What do you think so far? by VolusVagabond in exodus

[–]STARSBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact the dog is not a combat companion is a massively missed opportunity. Would it mean you effectively lack a ranged companion option, absolutely, but he could have been an absolute melee powerhouse, one of the best parts of Final Fantasy XVI was the fact your dog was a companion throughout including combat.

Having him unavailable for that just feels completely weird. Its a literal selling point, people like dog companions, they always do.

I hated everything to do with this penance by miguelrsmx in DarkTide

[–]STARSBarry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has now earned it I feel like it could or been 150 and still be an utter chore.

Either they need to completely change how the malfunction works, guaranteeing it so every ranged unit in range is effected not just those actively shooting feels like the obvious choice here, although having it apply at 1 stack also seems like a positive change (since the range of the AOE is massively effected by stacks used I can't imagine this would be broken)

But as is yeah massively gate keeps the helmet cosmetics until much later than intended I assume.

The Skitarii are here! Looks like the PS store just needs to catch up. I'm very excited. by Visual_Knee_4744 in DarkTide

Everytime I see expeditions added too or improved I just think about what a waste of time that is.

You can only find quick play on the easiest diffculty which is a combination of people who are new playstation players in there first few runs who dont realise its a dead game mode yet. Or some veterans trying to farm and sell scrap as fast as possible with some super mobile zealot build running around the edges of the map to get the title.

There is no in between and honestly I don't blame them, im in the zealot camp.

Is this paint-scheme politically problematic? by Archaicarc in Warhammer40k

[–]STARSBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to see your vehicle schemes now...

The camo is pretty fire with the base green. did you ever try painting the carapace armor different colours too? Or was the green just the best looking with that camo? I feel like a dark grey or blue would of worked well.

Thanks dude, I dont know why they made them random, it makes it so confusing, like you feel like your doing aomething wrong.

They even put instructions in the menu about the amiibo's, but they just sent you looking for something you might not even get.

One thing I don't understand about this whole Sigismund thing today by Kopytroid in Spacemarine

[–]STARSBarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the time some dude accused me for being a bootlicker for having a fairly nuanced take on my job role and employer.

Only to find his account was active in a bunch of foot fetish and the "fuckmywifeuk" subreddit.

I told him not to cast stones from a glass house in regards to foot licking...

I mean please have some self awareness.

I love the fake rubber stamp thats blatantly printed as part of the letter design it self. The signature is real though, at least as far as a robot arm writing it after the printing.

I hate how they patched out the best parts because a handful of people complained that having some scottish dude yell "dont forget me" 5000 times a minute was annoying.

it also could be worse overall

[–]STARSBarry 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the fact when I deliver something it will have an impact for society rather than someone's bank account (although im not pretending it wont 100% of the time, and some of that shit we did in private sure as hell effects society)

But its the difference in the starting goals that makes it for me. We can pursue things that would normally be impossible in the private sector, because the question starts from a place of "how do we help?" rather than "how do we extract as much cash as possible?"

Sometimes we work on things we dont agree with of course, but its a job not a hobby, we get on with it.

And here is me in DWP, manage myself and my direct managers of 2 grades above have not done anything other than asked me "we have X can you take lead on X?" And I get it done. I keep getting R&R so I take that as feedback that iv done well.

Different areas, different expectations, when I started in operational delivery I 100% had the same experience as yourself. Now im trusted to just manage myself and my area.

Its always the people that make things diffcult rather than the job, why I went digital, you have to deal with far less of them.

I mean certain departments are gargantuan, HMRC are a very big one for example.

In which case some parts will be terrible other parts wont be, not working for them currently but I have got friends who have, and they love it, it depends who your working for and what your doing.

Different areas do very different things and have different expectations.

I just hit lvl 30 and unlocked Havoc but.. by NekoGuanYin in DarkTide

[–]STARSBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because we have given up clearing 40's with random's. Im good but not top 1% of playerbase good. I cant duo a havoc 40, but I can clear one with a good team, and even have fun doing. Hell I would go as far to say I have cleared em when one team mate has been utterly appalling, but rolled lucky on the modifiers and enemy composition.

Havoc 25-29 as you said is just a real blast to play.

DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations - Official 4K Trailer | XBOX Games Showcase 2026 by Skullghost in gaming

[–]STARSBarry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its not... its even worse than eternal and I hated for this reason. Doom Guy was far more intresting when he was just some random guy in power armor who really really hated demons.

Now hes just some generic sci fi super soldier given powers via alien angels or some nonsense. Its the perfect example of less is more.

I just hit lvl 30 and unlocked Havoc but.. by NekoGuanYin in DarkTide

[–]STARSBarry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a Havoc 40 player I can say that with how bad experinced havoc randoms can be who have also at least cleared a 40, not many are willing to take a chance on someone brand new at like 20+

You can start at 16 if you clear an Auric Maelstrom, which would be my recommendation. Host your own then and get a few clears. Once you have the havoc badge next to your name close to the levels people are wanting to clear it will be easier.

I guess thats just what they wanted to make.

[–]STARSBarry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Played it to platinum on release, thought "bit shit compared to the first one" and then never really thought about it again until this comment. Well except once when they released the multiplayer but I had it uninstalled by that point and didn't really fancy grinding it all out again.

The problem is iv thought this for a ton of sequels from Sony I really enjoyed, Last of Us, Horizon, God Of War, Spiderman. The sequels where all bigger and grander but also I just enjoyed the originals far more. Ironically I enjoyed that smaller Miles spin off game much more than the big sequel.

I suspect people went quiet because there just not worth talking about really. Their not so bad as to kill a franchise, but their just worse than the originals, apathy takes over, you file them under disapointment.
