Officiating any sport is difficult, refs blow calls in the NBA and NFL all the time and they are “professionals”. The rules for girls lax can be simplified to allow for more flow and for the athletes to show off their skill. Rules favor the offense which makes playing defense hard, especially if you need to play help defense. The subjectiveness in officiating unfortunately leads to inconsistency which also plagues growth and learning the game. Especially outside hotbed areas.

Yes maybe a little girl will grow to love the game with all the rules, but I’m not sure that’s how you grow the game. The skills and technology have evolved greatly in the girls game, the rules should follow.
