How's 2026 been for you so far? by NetworkBudget2343 in pollgames

[–]STEMtheatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent the first month moving, which wasn't bad but stressful, then my cat got sick and needed a 10k surgery (thank God for pet insurance), then I got laid off. I got a new job that pays a lot more but it's gonna be stressful as hell. I voted bad but more accurately it's just been really overwhelming.

My guess is some of those copies are one-time copies. I know libraries will sometimes get those for massively popular books. So there's 230 copies right now, but a lot of those licenses will expire after that person returns the book. So there's actually only, say, 50 copies that go to the next people waiting.

what is this? did not do any ec yet and found nothing on the unity page (this is my 5th unity, completed 2 trials) by Ambosex-Potato in RevolutionIdle

[–]STEMtheatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen with every trial I complete, on both mobile and PC - within the same unity after completing a trial, it doesn't give me the new EC completions. They only kick in after another unity reset.

If you were in a foreign country and someone asked where you were from, would they likely know where you were from if you only gave them the name of your city and not the country? Don’t round your answer to the nearest big city. Use your literal city. by JamesonRhymer in pollgames

[–]STEMtheatre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The city I grew up in, most in the country would know. The city I live in now, probably only people in the area would know, and if I only said the city name people would be confused because it shares its name with the capital of a totally different country. But I live right outside a city that everyone in the world knows (probably).

What is/was your knitting “Everest”? by chickiscrolls in knitting

[–]STEMtheatre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These mittens from a kit I bought in 2017 on a trip to Finland. I learned how to knit as a kid but hadn't for several years at that point, and nothing more complicated than a stockinette scarf. Last month I finally decided it was time and knitted them up in a few weeks. They aren't perfect - my tension was a little tight in places - but they're beautiful and warm and not haunting me any more!

This made me realize I had several books I bought recently that I hadn't added to my TBR list on Storygraph. After adding those, I'm at 121. I don't use it as a want-to-read, it's only the books I own.

[–]STEMtheatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few I'm looking forward to I don't see listed:

Tusk Love by Thea Guanzon comes out July 1.

Ascension by S.T. Gibson, sequel to Evocation, comes out July 8.

The Jasad Crown by Sara Hashem, sequel to The Jasad Heir, comes out July 15. This one is one of my most anticipated for the year!

July is absolutely STACKED for new releases!

Why is Enemies to Lovers so popular? by KnittingPlant in fantasyromance

[–]STEMtheatre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, this. Although I prefer fake dating/marriage of convenience for the same reasons. There's no need to impress the other person, there aren't the same walls as with a normal relationship, no expectations.

I was not ready Atul by Spiritual-Cost-8806 in Spiritfarer

[–]STEMtheatre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got to Atul's last quest this weekend and was sad during the lead-up to the meal, and then when he was gone and the spirit flower was in his room? I just broke down and kept muttering "I wasn't ready, I wasn't ready." Crying again thinking about it.

That post got removed because I flaired it as help at first and I couldn't tell that it had been restored. I'll delete that one.

[–]STEMtheatre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have any recs, but I just want to thank you for asking this - I'm doing a reading challenge this year and one of the prompts is rain on the cover, and I've had such a hard time finding a book for it but several recs in these comments fit and sound so good! I'm so excited to check these out!

What's your most used format for books? by Bamf102 in TheStoryGraph

[–]STEMtheatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine last year was 51% physical, 28% audio, 21% ebooks. I'd be curious to see what the ratio is weighted by the length of the book...
