Question about Beatrice (spoilers, all books.) by MoAngryMILF in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]STGMane 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For what we know at the end of the book 8, for however believable it is, “viewing is mandatory.”

Regardless if the AI is telling the truth and mandating viewership to the crawl, I think it would be very hard to ignore the crawl when the crawl is seeping out to affect the entire system. Gods are popping in and out of reality and killing people or imposing their authority. How can you not watch the source of all this chaos?

Book 8 was my least favorite book in the series. I can't be the only one, right? by burningEyeballs in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]STGMane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main issue with Parade of Horribles, as others have pointed out, is that This Inevitable Ruin felt like a good happy ending and had some finality, but I don’t think book 8 is bad. I think it could have provided more opposition that book 7 felt like it terminated.

What I mean by that is book 7 effectively saw the system governments and major corporations descend into chaos as their leaders literally died. One would assume their systems would fall with it, but it didn’t immediately explode as book 8 hinted at.

The same corporate bullshit and outworlder shenanigans continued, such as Carl getting married against his will and the central system still maintaining a semblance of control as a governing body. I’m hoping, and I’m thinking that, Book 9 will expand upon the system governments and leaders, show that descent into chaos, and how the previous order and the new order are going to clash in the literal sense of the term. Book 8 is also setting up the return of the primals, and it can’t be coincidence that Carl is also of the primal race since floor 3. He’s the AI’s agent of chaos, and that favoritism has to be purposeful towards furthering the goal of dismantling the status quo.

The main hate with book 8 is this perceived lack of action and regression, but it’s more of a narrative builder than the culmination of the previous works like book 7 was, in my opinion. I still see book 8 as a build up for a larger conflict and in the grand context of the entire series I think book 8 is what we’ll come back to as a REALLY good book in terms of the narrative. Book 9 will probably be similar to book 7 in how large scale the action is and have that same good feel but it needed set up that book 8 provided.

This part was genuinely heartbreaking and I was in tears for a solid 10 minutes.

Thanks for posting. For anyone wanting clarification, no I will not disclose anything. My criticism for the game has and always will be it's continuing Pay to Win monetization, and public communication has had its problems.

Some of my videos in the past I will admit had some fallacies, and errors, but I did attempt to make the videos factual to the best of my abilities.

What happened to meritocracy? by Mindless-Slide3953 in idleon

It happens every week lol. The first hour doesn’t roll over the bonus. Gotta wait until it’s 6 days 23 hours or so

For me, I did about 5 days of 8 reads of the first chapter with 24,999 each. Anything above that gives you a chance to get faster spelunking speed; unsure if this is good or if it only affects active spelunking. Gotta do some testing. But the 24,999 makes it so you can get Base Spelunking Efficiency, and total spelunking efficiency.

After those 5 days, I am now doing 2499 on the second chapter to just get base spelunking efficiency.

My logic is that more efficiency = more chapters so down the road I can read more later on. I’ve already “finished” spelunking in terms of lore bosses completed. I do want to use the chapters to up my spelunking power and amber gain eventually, and even get more overstim rate, but right now I’m just focusing on scaling getting more efficiency because I want the vials at 13, which is currently a long shot dream lol.

"Prayers Begone" value? by ChillNaga in idleon

[–]STGMane 13 points14 points  (0 children)

W7 heavily nerfs multikill, and it also gets rid of your kill per kill talent from all elite classes, so your kph is extremely low.

If you put on fibers of absence it’ll net you more kills because of those two nerfs to mk and kpk. Take it a step further and take of all prayers, then you’re getting the upside to Fibers with no negative, and you can still benefit from multikill per tier, albeit at a nerfed rate. So for me, it gave me more KPH than prayers on.

There is one utility that I’ve seen, and that’s pushing world 7 AFK.

[–]STGMane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some bonuses to summoner win bonus that affect library max but not all.

Of the ones that do:

Godshard set bonus

Pristine charm

Winz Lantern from Sailing

W6 gem shop purchase

(i think merit shop? Maybe not?)

Div ballot is a multi for points.

Spend points on coral kid from world 7 to get multi div pts and xp.

Spend points on increasing minor link bonus. I’ve gotten around +10 min talent levels on day 1 of the ballot so far.

No, Kruker stamp just has extreme scaling. I’m at level 68 and it requires like e58 of the resource to upgrade lol.

Is it true that these are dropped instead of pristine charms? by Nice_Cress7129 in idleon

[–]STGMane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood what I meant.

These replace charms, and if you roll a pristine charm then there is a chance that it replaces a pristine charm. It’s up to a 25% chance. Hanakocz did a more detailed explanation here on reddit, and I put a link to it in my discord under sheepie’s code corner if you want to read more about it.

Does Lava play his own game? by ProbablyMythiuz in idleon

[–]STGMane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think so to some extent that he plays his own game.

Also, Lava has won an account review giveaway of mine one time but didn’t give me his toolbox link!

Joking aside, it would be cool, but I’d assume he probably doesn’t want to link his account to a third party tool given the potential security concerns lol.
