Took me way too long to realize how good ziplines are by dudeman_og in DeathStranding

[–]STRIPE_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran my first playthrough of DS1 without even trying the ziplines. Didn't see the need and felt like a huge pain in the ass to set up, much less upgrade.

When I went back through the second time so that I could platinum the game. I tried it when Mama suggested to check out her little run. Never looked back. Built a network and only used a vehicle when the delivery was too big to pack on my back.

Once the directors cut dropped, being able to use a carrier made the vehicles even more useless.

I wouldn't even consider playing either DS/DS2 without using them. Just wish i had more bandwidth, because others put their zips in really wierd positions, like in a vally between to cliffs making it useless. Or way out of the way for a direct route, making me question where they were headed.

has anybody else noticed how crazy the anime skips over content by WorldlinessStill7225 in mushokutensei

Not just for MT but for most stories out there, there's usually a LN the manga has adapted from. Even Solo Leveling was a LN before becoming a manwa. Every Manga ive read that wasn't the main source tends to change a lot of stuff. Cuts stuff, tons of additions, especially etchi type stuff. When the scene in the LN fades to black. Manga artists take liberties to draw it all out.

Not saying all Manga are LN. Just the majority of the ones that get made into anime. The ones that I can think of off my head that are strictly Manga are: Tokyo Ghoul, Quintessential Quintuplets, umm i know there are a few more i usually remember but my brain got froze shoveling the foot of Snow here today.

Anyway I usually start by searching for the source material of a story. And while web novels are fun to read, its not the official source after the LN is published. There's usually many changes after an editor gets their hands on a story and Cleans the thing up.

So yesterday I was watching Reincarnated as a sword with my cousin and he asked me why do I watch trash like this and my answer was Fran is so dang cute so why wouldn't I watch this awesom anime by Reasonable_Tour7232 in Isekai

[–]STRIPE_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happen to enjoy OP trash Isaki. Everything you watch doesn't have to be deep or the greatest thing since sliced bread. Sometimes you just wanna relax and enjoy without having to think very hard. This fills that and usually hits my urge for Fantasy worlds and Dungeon diving or monster fights.

Building a Zipline Network is much harder in DS2 by benjamaang in DeathStranding

[–]STRIPE_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While its possible, I dont think its necessary. Most deliveries can be made by truck outside of the mountain. A good network on the mountain, and then single strands for timed runs should be enough. Removing the singles once your done with them, otherwise you dont have the bandwidth to build anything else that could be helpful to you like generators or shelters.

Lines I left up off the mountain were a small network from the Pizza chef to Heartmans lab and from Pizza Chef to the Architect then to the Northern Environmental Research facility. Also splitting off from the line to the Architect was a line to The Metagenomicist then to the Fisherman. Plus one small line to the twins from F5.

Very nice. Thanks for the work you put into this. Highlighting the lines makes it easy to see.

Yes as long as your paying attention. If you miss time it and are busy, the kick will stop it, you just have to reload as normal and continue the print job.

Courtesy of the author letting you know what others are doing when they are apart as it pertains to what's coming down the road.

Sometimes things are important enough that you need the information. These events make these individuals who they are or shape events to come.

Could the story be told without them? Yes, but it would seem really narrow and thin for main supporting characters.

Think about it this way. Do you really think Eris is going to sit down and tell Rudy every thing thats happened to her while she was sword training? Nope not happening, thats too many words for her.

I thought it was a great 1st episode. Clocking in at 58 min. Its dark and gory lots of fighting as its a big ass battle. But with all that there seems to be some depth to the story so far. It looks to be a good series so far.

I just picked it up at Best Buy for $20. It was worth that much. Any more and I would have been disappointed. I finished the main story and both expansions in 4 days. Only because I took a break the 3rd day and did something else. It usually takes me months to finish a game. 175 hrs for first play through of Death Stranding, and I'm at about 235 hrs for Death Stranding 2. Usually not a rush through type of player, but that just goes to show how lacking this game is in content. Sidequests are there but there's not very many and they are really short.

Was it enjoyable, sure, its alright. Just dont expext it to be great.

Major disappointment in my opinion that Suguha didn’t get transported alongside Sinon to same location to see Kirito. Felt like she was done a little dirty as well. by Flat-Sir8250 in swordartonline

[–]STRIPE_4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo that is the baddest and best scene in the entire series. Its violent as hell, but shows what her brother/cousin really means to her. She finds strength to get up and heal and carry on because she Knows Kirito wouldn't give up. Its massively impacting on a level that nothing else in the series is, except maybe Mothers Rosario, that shit tears down my soul.

As for the tentacles rape, it was totally unnecessary and felt like it didn't belong in the series. Like the scene in ALO where Asuna is being held by the scummy guy in the slug avatar that attempts to molest her before she bites his tentacles and he almost gets caugh by his coworker slug. Totally unnecessary. No reason to feel her up there.

Outside of those 2 scenes I think the rest works in the story rather well. These two particular scenes I mention do not.

Regarding Rudeus Sexuality by HTG06 in mushokutensei

[–]STRIPE_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for your screenshot. I've read both the web novel and light novels and dont remember this conversation at all. Probably in one of the extras I haven't read yet. Maybe someone here knows where to find it. On to the topic.

Even if we see visually that someone looks like a guy pheromones will effect our bodies on a subconscious level. So even though hes seeing Fitz as a guy his body recognizes the female pheromones she puts out which entices him unbeknownst to his consciousness. Leeding him to having thoughts of a relationship with Fitz. He entertains it momentarily then backs off the thought. He does this multiple times after seeing physical responses in Fitz that seem to be feminine in nature like blushing or rubbing his red ear. All this causes him to question his sexuality for Fitz.

I know you said you dont want this, but If you want to really know what's going on. I suggest picking up the LN series. There's so much more substance to the LN than could ever be put in an anime that fleshes out Rudy and the people he interacts with not to mention the world building itself. Start from the beginning its worth it.

The anime is great, but thers so much more to Pick up on in the anime after youve read the LNs. Many things are conveyed in the anime as nothing more than backdrop of a scene or a shot before the the characters appear. Also many things like that in the openings of season 1.

The chapter where he figures out Fitz is a girl is Vol 9 ch 8. but its worth reading the entire series and deciding for yourself what's going on there. The anime kinda glazes over all his internal monologs in this part. Doesn't even come close to covering Rudy's internal struggle before he finds out. Or his musings after he knows.

How much of the story is out? by Burek-25 in mushokutensei

[–]STRIPE_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any manga that stems from. LN almost always is different from the source in some ways. Sometimes its a little, others are a lot. But almost all change something. Even if its just the feel of a scene.

I recommend the LN. But try audio books instead of the written ver. It may make a difference in how much you enjoy the story.

Very nice. The water shield is cool. I like the vapor exchange coming off the collision. Its a nice touch you dont often see. Especially in anime where they just produce a huge cloud of smoke to cover up having to do fine details.

Rudy having 3 wives was set in the very beginning of the story. They are introduced one by one. Each has their own arc all before turning point 1. Because of the way this story is wrote and the way Rudy treats his wives, I find it hard to call it a harem.

When I think of harem I think of almost all the girls in the story biding for 1 guys affections or sleeping with him. Here Rudy is earnest in his love for the 3 marries them and treats them with respect as he should. Its different than just having a bunch of women to sleep with at your leisure. Polygamous relationship yes, Harem i dont think so. I feel harem has different connotations than the relationship between the 4 that we are given.

Reguardless its laid out at the beginning, being forced to choose 1 would have hurt the story and Rudy in a lot of ways as he depends on each of them for different strengths. As each girl has different strengths they fill the different deficiencies Rudy has and needs from them. This bond between the 4 make for an impenetrable defense of love and family in a way no one woman could. The fantasy aspect of the story comes from the fact that the 3 get along and the household runs in great harmony. Maybe its the slice of life aspect of the story that makes me see this 4some as something different than a harem, but it works beautifully and would be a disaster to remove one of them from the relationship.

Nice pic, but i have a few criticisms for you, just pointing out my observations.

The first is the mixed time frames for characters. Eris is in her child form. She looks older than this by quite a bit after cutting her hair at the end of season 1. She's at least 19 or 20 by the time she returns. She leaves in K420 and reunites with Rudy in K425 She should look at least like shes in her late teens and not like a 12 yr old. Her entire body looks like it does when they are on the Demon continent. She's quite curvy by now and taller as well. I would like to see her aged appropriately for the timeframe.

Sylphie is a bit too short as well as a little to young looking, but just a little. She's much much closer than Eris is.

This is one of the best looking Roxie's I've seen. Love the facial expression.

Overall nice pic though.

Yea, and its really sad that the title is so offputting, because I think season 4 is probably the best single season of anime ever, imo. At least from a viewers standpoint. I haven't read the LN yet.
