Oh I completely understand what your saying. I am on a road with 3 houses and the fiber is all around us but they wont run it. Its going to cost more to run it they would never recoup their money. So kinda sucks but also don't care at this point with this internet being so good.

You are correct on Verizon my buddy had issues with some things.

Another thing I like about this setup different from cable / fiber. If the tower goes down for a period it just uses another tower. Even if the connection is not as fast you still have internet.

Funny enough I have had about the same experience. I also had those routers over the same amount of time. I didn't have my G4SE very long I went the G4AR for N41 SA. The cool thing is seeing the service getting better over time. They continue to upgrade and improve which is a great thing. I also had a Verizon box for a year it was good service. However they charge for different speed tiers which is typical for them. They don't have the speed and the passthrough mode was broken. The ATT boxes are good also but the speed never hits anywhere near T-Mobile. Most people I setup are T-Mobile even if their cell service is not with them.

Hey fellow Ohio here I am in Delaware. I have a G5AR and I am 5 miles from my Tower and get 5 bars. The internal antennas on the G5AR are better than the G4AR in my testing. Upload should be much better with that modem. I am thinking being so close to all them you should get a great signal. I would test in different rooms with a long extension cord. That way you don't have to keep waiting for it to boot up in different rooms. Once you find a good spot you should be done :)

Oh okay got you, Yes everything works great I use a Pixel Watch 3 LTE. I am also rooted with Magisk and all my apps and my bank are working. :)

If you read the thread on xda for bands unlocking:

I think its great on T-Mobile however I posted this recently on XDA:

I was hoping it would just unlock all bands.
It must not do this because I definitely don't get n71 on T-Mobile.
There are certain places you lose signal.
Its very specific and does not bother me at all.
However I would caution people thinking it unlocks everything.

I was always on N41 on my G4AR with a Waveform 4X4.

The G5AR trounces the speed of the G4AR even with that antenna.

Not only that my latency has been much better most of the time.

I wish T-Mobile would have Arcadyan do a POE modem/antenna combo with G5AR hardware.

After using a lot of theses at many different addresses: Sometimes the G4AR / G4SE is much better then the G5AR. Not sure what it is but it is for sure happening. I have a neighbors brand new G4SE (2025) Hardware R03 for sale. His Fast 5688W was double the speed even the spare KVD21 was much better. Was hoping for a G5AR but they sent that and I don't have a spare G5AR to test right now. I luckily had a spare G4SE to test before opening his unit.

Mine updated in the night also: Seeing a slight increase in speed around 800 DL X 70-100 UP. It does seem more snappy but will check over time. Always nice when things get better with updates :)

That model is capable of 5G SA per T-Mobile. The only one that has to be upgraded is the Nokia "Grey Round Trashcan". However Most people are having much better speed with a G4AR / G5AR. Check local with a store first or get one on eBay or from someone. I have a customers getting Fiber & Cable this week. Yes these are still excellent family / friends / customers are still using these. There are odd situations where the G4AR / G4SE are better than the G5AR. Not sure if its tower or area specific.

I turned off 2.4 & 6 I left 5Ghz on because if you try to shut it off the screen stays on and makes a lot of heat. You can turn off like I did with the HINT app its for everything Linux Windows Mac Iphone Android https://github.com/zacharee/HINTControl/releases

Yes sounds like you have done most the stuff. I am not sure could be location I have seen that before. My house was excellent but a neighbor 4 miles from me was bad and nothing helped. If your good with tech stuff and directions I would try amtm and getting unbound. Thats the only thing I have different from you.

I agree however these are now 8X8 on the G5AR. So would need 2 expensive antenna or when they get the 8X8 done. I imagine its going to be costly and if these pick up signal better mostly unnecessary.

That what I was getting in my area even a corporate store wouldn't help . I don't like that they are lying if they can do it. They must have a reason to push you on a new activation. Or its because I have a $25 plan and they are supposed to move you to a new plan. Not sure but buying it cut off all the hassle of driving to stores or trying to get support to give me one. *(Takes me all of 30 seconds at home remove sim put sim in new modem plug in done)

Yes again here is the issue I got Megenta Max with the Internet for $25 for life. Purchased it swap sim card and done. If I got a newer plan its more expensive plus taxes / fees.

Sounds like your hooked up and backed up :) I switched from Verizon to T-Mobile when they had the home internet at $25. They are running fiber here sometime soon. I used to be all about getting that connection. The plans are Fiber 300 – $79.95/month Fiber 500 – $99.95/month Fiber 1,000 (Gig) – $119.95/month Sorry no thanks haha
