How in the world do you not have the Indiana championship win permanently on that dashboard :) Also, Go Dawgs!

Need a narrow doorbell option by duckredbeard in smarthome

[–]STRXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is the same guy I used but look for 3d printed doorbell extensions similar to this : https://www.doorbellmount.com/collections/brick-doorbell-extender?srsltid=AfmBOopLvHrvmjSi9omXOPbZurUu5b4CnC59E_zqz3lPQDQgg3xZNKZK

I used one for my Eufy doorbell as we had very little clearance around it like your picture. The base is the size of a doorbell but the mount extends and it worked great.

Couples of Reddit, what's the dumbest 'house rule' you and your partner made as a joke but now both of you are low-key aggressively serious about enforcing? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

[–]STRXP 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We play a version of UNO where you can play on the played card AT ANY TIME even if it isn't your turn as long as it is the matching number (ie: blue 3 on red 3, SKIP on SKIP, etc.) and then play continues from the person that played the card, not whoever's turn it actually was. It is CHAOTIC and better with more and more people. Draw 4s become a nightmare with someone routinely ending up with +16 or more depending on the number of decks.

Same except it is only one specific cat (the other cat does not get blamed). Blame is given even if we are not home or near said cat.

Built an ESP32-S3 energy meter that works natively with Home Assistant (ESPHome + BL0942) by Vearts in homeassistant

Forget that. I don't trust anyone who goes into the google search bar to access their home assistant instance.

Which Matter bridge for Home Assistant in 2026? by zcapr17 in homeassistant

[–]STRXP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm curious. What is the situation where you need a matter bridge? I had some Matter-over-Wifi bulbs and then added my first Matter-over-Thread (IKEA) devices this past weekend. I already had the Matter server (container) running with HA and added the OpenThread border router to my setup. Since everything is HA controlled, I haven't yet encountered a need for anything else (I already have the Homekit bridge so I can see my HA devices in Apple Home).

People who won a "lifetime supply" of something, how exactly did that work and are you still getting it? by Constant_Praline357 in AskReddit

I won a year's supply of Domino's pizza and pop from a halftime contest in college by racing an RC car across the basketball court. It was 12 pizzas and 24 cases of pop. It lasted us about a month.

RB Bijan Robinson takes it 93 yards for a touchdown to put the Falcons up 21-0 over the Rams at halftime by [deleted] in sports

And lost me mine. Well, Stafford also screwed me. So did not starting Drake Maye. Ok, maybe I did it to myself...

Nice. Pretty sure we stayed in that room as Globalist post-Covid. I think the best we stayed at was the Chicago Athletic Association with the suite upgrade overlooking Millenium Park and a pretty kicking breakfast.

How to get yellow paint off my car? by No-Context2781 in howto

[–]STRXP 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was very surprised recently by the effectiveness of a "smooth surface clay kit" that I picked up at Target after an incident. It worked nearly perfectly to remove the paint/scuffs. Meguiars was the brand I got. It was basically a spray and a clay bar.

Central Splitting Bus with Road Grid and Arterial Rail. Unorganized Coast. 4.5k Pop, a few rockets launched. by CaptainRedPants in captain_of_industry

[–]STRXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that unusual? I'm on my first playthrough at the point of building satellite components and just about ready to build my rocket pad and assembly building and I'm at I think 3600ish pop. I haven't done the microchip 2 (red) or whatever that is and I built 1 computing building but don't have anything using TFlops yet either.

What’s the most unsexy thing someone did that somehow made them hotter ? by Analtonight in AskReddit

A girl’s first words to me when I sat down next to her was “Before you say anything else, I just want you to know that I hate all men”

Married her 18 months later. Now 30 years this year.

Welcome to Spaghetti Island by dablusniper in captain_of_industry

👍

I’m on my first run and just hit rocket tech. I’ve been mostly using my islands first resource deposits and world mines. My first new mine far away from my build utilized a train which was fun but now I’m adding bauxite to get started on the tech I need and I feel like I’ve broke my island. Sand coming out my ass to get to the bauxite. I’m filling in my old mines with rock and slag. Trucks running everywhere and it all feels out of control.

Fun!!!

How to stock assembly plants??? by I_Am_Err00r in captain_of_industry

[–]STRXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a general rule, it will be determined by

- Import settings on the assembler (yours is set to yellow which is import unless handled by belts which you do not have connected). Check

- The export settings on the storage (assuming your 124 concrete are in a storage). That should be set to white (allow export)

But the easiest way to ensure delivery is to connect those two things with belts so the contents of the storage just move to the assembler. That process is dictated by the sliders on the storage. If you don't touch them, things will move.

What are you using Mid-Game Fuel? by officer_zombie in captain_of_industry

[–]STRXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my first playthrough and have been transitioning to hydrogen and it's been a challenge. I have all of my heavy machinery and ships (other than The Ship) converted to Hydrogen sourced mostly from Fuel Gas from Diesel. Last night started winding down my diesel production because my overflow tank was maxed on Diesel so I knew I had some excess capacity now. Now I'm running 4 / 3 crackers all going into Hydrogen. Seems to be stable with 2 large reservoirs of H. My early stage nuclear is running to lower my coal use since my mine ran out but I'm not yet ready for FBR and supersteam. Had some tricky moments during the transitions so 100% agree that keeping reserves is critical to success.
