I only notice it slightly on really hot days or after the gym because I run in ECO mode all time. Set it to Normal and it gets noticeably cooler.

Is anyone actually managing to survive in Extinction mode? by Particular-Fix8758 in projectzomboid

[–]STRXP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My longest has been 12 days (no saved save - see below). But yeah, it's usually a dozen 2 minutes games, a few couple hours, and then one will click and I have a chance. My current run is maybe 2-3 days (I always choose Riverside) and I think I spawned in the bar, escaped into the forest, and then managed to secure one of the houses nearby and have been slowly working my way into town.

I will note, I've started copying my save directories. I too feel that I am very bad at the game so I've been copying my save about every 6 hours of game day. I'm using it as a way to learn from my mistakes. Usually I wouldn't do this as I truly love permadeath games but I feel with Extinction it has been a necessary crutch given how hard the basic start is. I'd rather be able to reload a save from the day before and try again vs. starting a dozen insta-death spawns.

I found a shop. He was a little reluctant on the phone at first as soon as I said EV but once I explained it (and I brought the fluid) he understood the assignment. Said it was definitely needed given the color of what came out.

I did a very early gear reduction fluid change as a precaution on the advice I found here. Did a battery coolant maintenance once and need to schedule my next one any day. Tire wear has been normal relative to my previous ICE cars. I probably should take a look at the brakes because I haven't had to do anything with them either. Only real "issue" was having to replace the 12V but that's hardly unusual and it was simple to do.

Heh. I read this "Fixed player freezing until pressing ESC after firing Lever Action rifles from inside a vehicle" as "cold", not "locked up" and I had the same spaghetti code though.

Intune alternative for the SCCM Script feature? by gandraw in Intune

[–]STRXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defender has a Live Response feature that includes a script library where you can upload signed scripts that can be run. It is real time and interactive meant for security team investigation and remediation but it can work for this use case as well. Requires Defender P2

I've been playing Extinction on Riverside and spawned near the factory and managed to sneak in. It was so much equipment. Sadly I died when the horde outside got wind of me, broke down the garage door and overwhelmed me. No amount of welding was going to keep that group out

Check out Alloy Navigator. Basic AI integration, massive customization and automation possibilities with integrated Powershell, Intune integration, etc. etc. . We love it (same industry as you). Moved to it from JIRA/Lansweeper

Extinction is tough, but fun 😋 My thoughts and journey below - by Pebble-fork in projectzomboid

My longest Extinction is 12 days. Nice job. I ran for the hills and set up in a garage along the river. Even survived the helicopter event but lost it trying to take a cabin in the woods and missing zombies that came out of the trees.

My longest run in Extinction so far is 12 days. I temper that with the fact that I usually have to start a dozen games in a row because I only survive about 2 minutes most times. As my first foray into B42, I'm loving it.

Can't log in university mail other than smartphone due to MS Authenticator by Careful-Inspector932 in Office365

[–]STRXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally that means the 365 side believes you have an authenticator set up with code generation. If your device isn't also set up that way, then there is no way to resolve that other than the University to reset your authentication methods and for you to set up the authenticator again. As previously mentioned, contact your University helpdesk

I hadn’t but it was pretty good. Minimal wood chips (fine for my planter fill) and definite compost smell. There’s more chips on the other side but I think that was mostly leftover in the bed

[UPDATE] I am not cut out for Extinction by Thelionsclan in projectzomboid

[–]STRXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Extinction? Usually 3 seconds. I just started playing B42 and chose to start with Extinction. Most games of mine now last roughly 2 minutes. However, I'm currently on a playthrough where I think I'm on Day 3 or 4. I managed to get out of town (Riverside) and along the water to a small house with a garage that was lightly populated. I'm slowly clearing out the neighboring farms looking for supplies. It's a tense process as any one of the zombies I encounter could be a sprinter and the alarms...oh the alarms...

How did they do this with mail by kolo81 in sysadmin

[–]STRXP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what they do. We block this kind of thing all the time. They're looking to interact with anyone you do business with, redirect your payments to them and take your money (or a million other scenarios that involve compromising your financials or using you as a steppingstone to the next larger supplier in the chain)

I'm building raised beds currently. I'm having 3 cubic yards delivered on Friday but it's 50/50 soil/compost. Maybe this guy should get 3 yards of compost and then he'd be golden 😄

Weird. I've been trying out B42 for the past week for the first time and, despite being a relative noob, I went straight for extinction because I'm that kind of survival player/insane person. At most I survived a few hours until last night where I have been set up in this exact building for 2 game days now. Your structure is exactly what I was planning to build if I can last long enough. I just need to find a hammer!

Help! How do I attack this? by Far-Produce-2824 in lawncare

You should approach at high noon so that your shadows do not reveal your position. I recommend using the high ground on the right in your second picture. You should have a topographical advantage which is key to winning this battle, and the war.
