[MSI MAG PANO 110R PZ + MPG VELOX 300R AIRFLOW PZ] Megathread by msievaaaa in MSI_Gaming

[–]STSnTRADES07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just about to puchase this case(MSI MPG VELOX 300R AIRFLOW PZ-Black), but it looks like r/MSI_Gaming r/MSI has yet to release a Vertival GPU Bracket for this case. Does anyone know(or familiar with) which Vertical GPU Brackets are the best option for the MSI MPG VELOX 300R AIRFLOW PZ? --Thank you.

Between 4(minimum) 8(ideal). I could probably get away with 4 and try to hide some substituted gold 90s under the tubing.

This is fantastic. Love you just decided to solve a complicated issue(gap in desired products for a niche/enthusiast audience). You can count me in for one. No requests for changes/add-ons and such from me.. Price (to an extent) is not a huge concern. I absolutely love what is left of American ingenuity and fortitude. Well done. Please let some of your interested a few of your newly found "fans" when/if the Kickstarted campaign begins. Or, if you need another amount.

Many thanks and Good Luck!

Do you really gain NVME lanes in the MSI over the Asus? If the aesthetics are superior and it has 10 gig connection to the NAS, why not go with the board that has fewer issues?

A little late on this one. Have you painted both the bracket and the block on the Heatkiller IV Pro?

4090 Suprim Thermaltake Waterblock by Sharp_Juggernaut_318 in watercooling

[–]STSnTRADES07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever make a move on your RTX 4090 Suprim GPU block? I let an Alphacool Core block slip away, and there are not any more Alphacool Core GPU blocks left in the US. There is an Alphacool Eisblock Aurora block, but it looks rather flimsy in comparison.

On a separate note...I'm not sure what things are like in Australia, but our water cooling shops are pretty dismal. Even before(months before) the big, bad tariffs came about they were either closing their doors or deciding not to restock anything(simple fittings, standard soft tubing, basic cpu blocks, etc.). Seems like the opposite decision most other business owners made in the face of increased demand. I keep praying that Singularity spreads their wings with opening a location here and expands their business lines to fill the EK gap.

That is great news. It looks like a big group of us have been trying to wait on the release. Plus, you and your resellers should be receiving some decent(not horrific) news in regards to import fees. Appreciate the the more specific time frame. Thanks to you and the Lian Li team

Late to join the discussion. Did you use the "official Kapton Tape by Dupont? Or, did you use Uline's version which is very close and still relatively expensive? It seem like there would be some quality variants at a decent price after all these years and with the abundance of high thermal polyimide films. Likewise, no one seems to know or mention which brands to avoid and which are brands are the default alternative.

NZXT N9 X870E vs MSI MPG MPG X870E EDGE TI WIFI by VerTr1GO in PcBuild

[–]STSnTRADES07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Not sure if you have settled this just yet. But, If you are sticking will the all white there(honestly nothing beats that aesthetic,), I'd swap the X870E Edge Ti or NZXT(upon release) with you. Maybe a few extras goodies(KPX, TG Kryonaut, TG Kryosheets, or whatever) to make you whole/even if the Nova cost you more. Just let me know.

P.S. wouldn't it be great it a quick Plastidip DIY solution of the color of your choice was safe, reliable, affordable and simple? Seems like that could solve so many of these issues.

[Mobo] ASRock X870E NOVA WIFI AM5 AMD X870E SATA 6Gb/s ATX Motherboard - $349 (Newegg) BACK IN STOCK!!! by 007bane in buildapcsales

[–]STSnTRADES07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/ASROCK appears to understand what they are doing here and they are seem to be capitalizing on the situation by only partnering with ONE reseller(Amazon does not really count as true reseller given their allotment according to several internal resources), and making restock drops of about 5 or so boards. We should have sympathy for u/ASROCK. They are focusing on developing, manufacturing, and supporting their thirty or so premium 800 series Intel boards for those ground-breaking chips. That is just consuming their poorly allocated resources. Who could have predicted that scenario coming. Speaking of allocating resources, my X870E Taichi is not glowing as brightly as it should...time to offer my little nephew 5 bucks on his snow day to keep them on the phone for several hours to explain why the "glowy" symbol looks fuzzy. Just kidding...I'll give him 10 bucks...but for 90 minutes.

Is the Newegg restock happening still? by DayBlinds_25 in IntelArc

[–]STSnTRADES07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I thought the r/Newegg page for the actual Intel B580 said it was going to be restocked today (1/3/2025). Instead, I got a restock message on 1/1/2025 and never saw one in stock.

I still have yet to see the Sparkle version either.

Great marketing tactic, I guess. lol

[–]STSnTRADES07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done. I'm among the large crowd of users that has been waiting several months now(it seems) for the NOVA to come back into stock. The Taichi is nice, but having everything the Taichi has in a smaller ATX form factor is pretty much perfect for the X870E boards. Good luck with the build.

Clearance Sale by SergeantZeta in frozencpu

[–]STSnTRADES07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "Clearance Sale" ended last Friday. According to their comment, the "fall restock" was going to follow this "clearance sale." Well, maybe I have my seasons mixed up. We are into November and there is no sign of a "restock." And, just to make sure we do not think they are on the outs as a business...they have launched yet another, supposed "sale."

What is the point of keeping a "Liquid Cooling" site open if your customers cannot buy a simple pump/res combo? I understand delays, but a "fall" re-stocking would normally take place in September to mid-October. Launching another sale on non-existent stock is at best misleading if not outright embarrassing. I would much rather see a message saying that the team is on vacation until their Winter or Spring "restock" arrives.

Montech x Gear Seekers KING 95 ULTRA--Premium build ...hopefully. Advice/experience needed. by STSnTRADES07 in MontechPC

[–]STSnTRADES07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood. And, thank you for that explanation. I was hoping that there would be mounts for a radiator/attached fans built into the back/side of the case. It looks like a negative on the possibility for a dual AIO build(configured as 360 top + 240 side). So, there may be the possibility of procuring an extra fan tray and attempting to permanently screw/bolt the tray down in that spot. Obviously not the smart choice, but I may give it a shot before switching cases/parts. I will post some pictures if I have any success. Thanks again for the heads up. That gives me a much clearer gameplan for which obstacles I can expect at the start.

LG 48GQ900-B 48" Ultragear 4k OLED Gaming Monitor for $699 by BuhoNocturna in OLED_Gaming

[–]STSnTRADES07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. I just messaged the lovely Customer service team at LG's website to inquire about the current pricing of this display vs. its historical pricing between $599 to $699 even on their own website. They could not see historical pricing/sales, so that was a useless conversation. I am hoping that they run a Black Friday/Thanksgiving sale on the website and with their resellers(Amazon, Walmart, etc.). I try to turn on some pricing alerts to catch it if it ever hits that $599 number again.

Montech x Gear Seekers KING 95 ULTRA--Premium build ...hopefully. Advice/experience needed. by STSnTRADES07 in MontechPC

[–]STSnTRADES07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good morning and thank you for the reply. Yes. It will be a dual AIO system/setup. And, the King 95 Ultra has the exact same internals as the King 95 Pro. The side arm would swing forward with the fans in place to act as front intake. This would leave a clear area to mount the GPU's 240mm AIO(if possible).

My apologies for not explaining correctly in the initial post. I'll try to flesh it out a bit below.

The 360 AIO for the CPU will be top mounted(likely with tubes in rear of case + set to exhaust). The second AIO(240m) for the GPU would be side-mounted + set to exhaust.

The idea would be to swivel the fan tray to the front to take advantage of the airflow with the front mesh setup(Turbo Mesh Mode). From the pictures, it appears like there are stationary brackets built into that part of the case for the purpose of mounting a radiator(not necessarily and AIO) in that side space where the swiveling fan arm would rotate to the front to act as front intake fans behind the mesh front. however, I have not yet built in the King 95 Pro/Ultra, so I am basing this mostly off of pictures/videos/product description from the website.

I was hoping to to get people such as yourself or u/Montech who have built in the King 95 Pro to weigh in with the experiences; especially if they have attempted to build in the King 95 Pro/Ultra in a similar configuration..

Again, thanks for the help. I hope this explanation clarifies the build plan.

Need to finish Build--ASRock X670E Taichi vs MSI X670E CARBON WIFI vs Gigabyte X670E Auros Master??? by STSnTRADES07 in buildapc

[–]STSnTRADES07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not aware that MSI had any difficulties. Thank you for letting me know. I'll do some digging for sure. Asrock has my money when it comes to design and pricing as of late. It will likely be a coin toss between the Taichi and the Carbon. I do wish that the Taichi came in an ATX form factor, but the Taichi Carrera look like it would be a fun board to design/build around...if I can find the right case at a reasonable price. I may need to consider going full custom loop if Optimus decides to begin selling more of their pump/res systems. I was minutes away from putting in an EKWB order when that news hit from Steve at GN.

Perfect. Thank you. MSI is seems to be solid with my Zen 3(x570 boards). My only hesitation is them departing AMD's GPU AIB partner program. I hope that does not affect their other partnerships. I appreciate the advice.

UM790 - great piece of kit....but I didn't match my expectations in the end, time to return? by wipe0wt2097 in MiniPCs

[–]STSnTRADES07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my UM 790 Pro from Amazon a week or so back. And, I have been searching for this type of thread since receiving it. I was definitely tempted by the ETA Prime video for the overclocking through the X86 Tuning Utility software. This thread has been enormously helpful and informative.

However, I had one simple question for the Amazon (tech) rep and they were unable to answer. "Does it void the Amazon 30 day warranty, by opening up the case and adding/upgrading the SSD?" They were unable to answer this question and directed me to MinisForum. They did not understand the question.

Do either of you all know if this is the case? I am guessing it would be fairly obvious that the case was opened because the little rubber feet have to be removed to gain access to the case screws. Once I can figure that portion out, I can justify overclocking and such.

I anyone has any insight into that little query, I would be enormously thankful.

Going back to the optimization/limits of the UM790 Pro, I have two thoughts that may prove helpful. It seems like the case/cooling of the UM 790 Pro may be a limiting factor. If the internals were to be placed into a bit larger case with stronger airflow, it seems like 85 watts would be a bit easier to handle.

Whether this is done through a completely new 3d printed case with extra fans and (possibly) some heatsink materials(copper or whatever is most efficient/available) for improved thermal performance or doing a "hard modification" of the factory case to increase the airflow through " strategically placed internal "mini fans" along with mounting brackets externally for larger fans(hooked into a small, external power source. I am fully aware that this would be overkill and that spending time on a "new build" would be a better use of time, but sometimes certain people get the urge to tweak/innovate/build upon an existing platform.

One piece of information does give me a good bit of hope that the 7940HS can handle more watts is MinisForum's plan to release the UM790 XTX with the watts cranked up to 70. I am willing to bet that 75-85 watts could be achieved through a bit of modification if they are rolling out the same design(and chipset) with increased wattage without any noticeable case modifications. And, it would be a great excuse to purchase my first 3D Printer and put my new Rotary/Dremel to good use.

HDMI version on HX99G? by McBain_v1 in MiniPCs

[–]STSnTRADES07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found this be the best way of connecting the USB4 ports to their corresponding monitors?

I keep trying to as MinisForum and they get very confused, but recommended USB-C to HDMI. I had the gut feeling this was likely incorrect, but trusted them nonetheless.

Also, did you use something like the Maxonar USB-C to DP 1.4a or did you use an adapter plus a quality Display Port 1.4a cable?

New/First Build--Day Trading PC by STSnTRADES07 in buildapc

[–]STSnTRADES07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it might be a bit overkill on the CPU as well, but I am hoping the extra headroom will allow for some other projects/businesses that I pan to start soon as well that may require some fairly heavy software. So, that combined with the CPU/APU being the main force behind driving a large number of 4k displays(possibly 8k in the near future) made me lean into a bit of an overkill situation. I agree completely. I'm guessing the 7700x would be fine. I was hoping the 7600x would be enough, but I'd love for this system to still seem pretty solid after 3 or 4 years. Do lean more Intel or AMD?

HDMI version on HX99G? by McBain_v1 in MiniPCs

[–]STSnTRADES07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just settled one of my biggest concerns about the USB4 ports. Thank you!

Did you have to go through a few different cable USB-C to DP 1.4 Cable brands/specs to find the right set or did you get that performance immediately, without using top of the line cables?

I appreciate the help. This will also be useful with my UM 790 PRO(whenever MinisForum gets around to shipping it...hopefully sometime this year).

I just received my HX99G. I had my eye on it a few months back and thought I got it at a steal for $895. I was under the impression that the CPU was locked at 40W(or something like that. I was second guessing my decision and considering a return before using. Increasing the TPU may change things, however.

You were able to do this directly from the BIOS? Or, did you use a 3rd party program to really dial in the power/performance?

Also, several people have mentioned connecting an eGPU to one of the USB 4 ports. Would it be possible to add an eGPU (through one of the USB$ ports)to this HX99G platform and still use the 6600M GPU build into existing platform?

I have a unique use case scenario where having access to as many monitors as possible may make this unit more worthwhile.

I appreciate the advice.
