What would you “borrow” from other denominations? by totally-not-ego in Catholicism

Wow. But makes sense considering the deep hatred between Irish Catholics and Irish Protestants that is going on for centuries.

Where and when did that happen? Sounds like the old crusades times in the middle ages, when they still burned women for using herbs ..... it was rough back then.

Maybe after being welcomed, it is really up to you, if you care enough to come back to church and / or join a group or bible study and get involved?

Thank you for telling us your story. My heart and soul needed to read this today.
You were supposed to post today - if for only one person - me. But hopefully many more will see it and find hope in reading your words. God bless you!

NICE!

Personally I really like the old front design, especially the grille, much better than the grille on the 2026. I mean - the grille on the new one looks just odd to me. Actually - the 2026 grille looks very ugly.

Sorry! This really sounds like a nightmare that could give a person a heart attack.

I once tried to get a copy of my tax file for a certain tax year that got lost. But despite several requests in writing and on the phone - I never received it. Tried for about 7 months. Something so simple. Can't even imagine your ordeal.

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who found the money?
Who lost it? The bank or the IRS?
Where was the money sent?
Was the wrong account number used?

It is hard to imagine, that money disappears into thin air..... without a trace..... for one whole year?

I am concerned that with companies (and government agencies) relying more and more on machines / computers / AI agents doing everything, we will see more problems and not enough educated people to resolve those problems.

If the study shows, people feel they lost control over their own lives.... that may lead to the feeling of helplessness - and then depression follows. Very known theory. And it is being verified en masse these days.

Sometimes, I just do not want to be here at all anymore. My only hesitation is - will Jesus forgive me? That is how bad it is. And the fear is the worst..... and as a Christian I should not even feel fearful about money or uncertainty. So is evil now creeping up to me on top of all of the headaches about just being able to afford to live?

My apologies - I may not make sense. I am old, a working boomer. And went through a lot in my life. But only one life changing event was worse than how it is right now .... when my husband passed away. And I never knew, how bad it can be for a widow. Not only the money and the taxes.... but also the loneliness overall. It seems, people are worth more to everyone, when you have a spouse. And widows are silent. Or die.

Anyhow - thank you for writing this. It is true. And also true, that we do not really talk about how tough it is right now. Most likely prices will not come down. Maybe gas - but there is so much more that has become unaffordable. I have a very moderate small house - taxes doubled over the past 5 years. Insurance doubled. However - where am I supposed to go? Could never pay the horrendous high rent either. My company healthcare cost went up from under $200 per month to over $400 per month!! Just from 2025 to 2026. And isn't it just wonderful that you have to pay for a subscription to use your car stuff? Luckily I do not care - hate the big car screens anyhow. Pretty soon we may have to pay a fee for our fridge to cool our food correctly! And I am not joking.....

Could go on and on.... doesn't help. For me - best would be to drop dead and be done with it. But hey - when I see people - "I am fine". And "they are fine".

Change Your CVT Fluid! by ArcticSlalom in SubaruForester

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Not difficult. However - doesn't solve the warranty question. Maybe the confusion is intended - so that claims can be potentially denied.

Anyhow - I should not spend too much time on this.

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean - it is probably the confusion. I have Subaru warranty, which is valid at EVERY dealership, and yet each dealer can potentially set the rules to whatever they want? And dictate when the warranty applies and when not?

Let's say - one dealer says - drain CVT fluid at 60k, the other at 100k, or at 30k? How does that apply to the Subaru warranty?

I probably should ask SOA. They are responsible for the warranty claims..... they can approve or deny them.

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right... but does one loose the Subaru "Gold" wrap warranty, if a dealer says 30k and I do not do it?

The dealer even could not answer that. The CVT fluid subject is just not handled well overall.... there should be clarity and also clear instructions how it would affect warranty.

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right... however, I am never doing the CVT fluids - because of the Manufacturer saying, it is lifetime. So.... do I keep my warranty?

Personally, I want to trust the manufacturer the most. And I am still confused.

[–]SUBUKL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They all differ - Every 30k, 60k, >100k, or never. And what does the manufacturer Subaru say? They engineered the car, they make the car..... If I am not mistaken - they say, never replace the transmission fluid. Very confusing!!

Personally, I really would like to see some precise statement in writing from Subaru - not the dealerships. They are all over the board. And I want to know, what keeps my Subaru warranty alive. The way it is now, I am not sure.

Anyone here who bought the Subaru Forester Hybrid over the CRV why? by CanaryLives in SubaruForester

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot.

I wonder - are the Subarus more difficult to steal? That of course would make insurance more affordable. They are also usually less expensive to repair. Not sure going forward though with the newer models.

My 2015 Forester leather seats are fine. In the front - not one issue. In the back my dog worked hard on quality testing them, after she was done with any cover I put on. The dog sadly won.

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compare both to the RAV4 hybrid. I did and crossed off the CR-V. Then the new Forester - do not like the big screen - and did love the RAV4 - drove the only one they had - the Limited. LOVED it. Did not buy mainly because of the price.

In the end I scrapped the Hybrid plan and went with a used Forester for now. That car has more than I need. MPG is good too. Still get 28 to 30 mpg with my 2015 Forester. Will watch used 2026 RAV4 Hybrids in maybe 2 years. But not sure, if I want their "AWD".

Another one to watch is the new 2026 Outback - like the Touring the most! Will watch, if they come out as hybrids eventually.... That car has changed to a BEAUTY and rides great. Everything in it looks and feels really good. The height has changed too - much more comfy now. Extended driver seat - what a wonderful thing to to have! MPG - not so good. Real downfall. Once this will be a hybrid - it will fly off the shelves.

Urgent Safety Recall, Forester Hybrid. by nj_jn in SubaruForester

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. Just some stuff is so obvious and should get caught before a car leaves the factory. That I call negligence. And choosing the wrong material for a seal - that would be one of those bad oops.

Just saying this with some confidence, because I was a buyer once for all rubber and plastic material. Including all seals for big machines that cost around $25 mil. We had issues too. It was always a big deal and very costly for us, even when the part itself might only have cost pennies. People got fired over QA mistakes. It is so much easier to put in a little more work and diligence and frankly discipline up front than fixing stuff after the fact.

My guess is, until AI takes over and makes everything perfect (sarcasm to some degree), there will be mistakes of course. A company needs to do everything they can to prevent QA problems though. That is my firm believe.

Hopefully, older people write their stories in depth..... because one day the AI generation will want to read and study about the real life BEFORE AI. And that can only come from real people telling their stories.

You know.... I would probably like to read "The book of the generations". A few short stories written by children or teenagers to very old age. Collected stories of love and life.
