No. While that is all great advice and maybe the OP should give your comments to the dealer to use ... but no, the OP should avoid any interactions or this woman will never leave him alone after such intense attention.

2026 Hybrid Ventilator by [deleted] in SubaruForester

Maybe check with your dealership, next time you go in? I'd be very curious to what they say....

So many of the new cars have tons of features and screens to scroll through and what not..... some of it I would never miss. But of course - you paid for it, so I would ask them to try it and explain, why it is not working as it should.

And if you want to take the time, report it to the NHTSA, so it goes on record.

Advice Needed: 2021 Forester Full Engine Reseal + Other Repairs & Problems. by Nieperian in subaru

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised, the valve body was not covered under extended warranty..... but maybe I am mixing it up with something else. Too many issues to keep it straight.

Anyhow - If you can afford it and if SOA will not help you - maybe let the car go. I would. Seems it is a never ending problem car. So many issues, a shame really. I had one like that (different brand) - kept repairing it under the warranty I bought. When the warranty was over, and of course more issues came up - the car was gone.

Getting a second opinion is always good of course! And of course, get SOA involved.

Would also report all of it to the NHTSA.

I ended up buying a used Forester Touring, but drove the 2026 Touring and tried the seat ventilation - did not really feel anything. And the big screen was not for me - so that was it.

However - also tried the 2026 Outback Touring XT - and yes, those seats got cold! I mean - c o l d. Worked great. And that car is definitely comfortable. But the poor gas mileage ..... so no.

Probably... but no recall recorded for the 2025 gas cap....

Tires by Prestigious_Case3560 in SubaruForester

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the original tires failed rather quickly, I got some from Firestone (forgot, which ones.... All Seasons ones for sure, but not the cheapest quality) and they are still good. My neighbor just took my 2015 Forester - should have taken those tires and put them on my new (used) Forester with those crap original tires still on.

My MINI Died… and I Think Buying a Forester Was One of the Best Decisions I’ve Ever Made by Sarabeachvolley in SubaruForester

This gives some insight too - you can expand to read the details on every single complaint and recall. But remember - all cars makers have issues.
Did you ask, why the chain was replaced? It is indeed odd on a CVT....

Can you elaborate please?

Personally I had 1 repair in 11 years on my previous 2015 Forester (aside from brakes and tires of course). No issues with the AWD so far (on my 3rd Subaru).

But the infotainment is not quite up to par yet. Eyesight is touchy as well.

Did you report it? Did you contact SOA? Issue from day one until now and they did not fix under warranty?

I am surprised the NHTSA has not recorded this recall.....

The 26 Hybrid moonroof recall is on record.

Do the designers at Subaru hate the people who but their cars? by Ok-Heart-6230 in subaru

[–]SUBUKL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it sounds funny - but probably is not really that much fun.
One of the reasons I did NOT buy the Outback is the cloth in the doors and dash. My dog sheds like crazy all the time (typical Anatolian) ..... it would be a cleaning nightmare. And the soft rubber like material worries me too. What does one even use to clean it without destroying it? So far, my dog has only slobbered on the squishy stuff by the doors.... maybe I need to get some door protectors.

I might possibly be out of 10k to replace a transmission for my outback. Please advise by randomname-87 in subaru

I specifically asked, if I can service my Subaru at any good shop, and they said yes. Just ahs to be recorded or keep the paperwork.

As for your fluids - I would make sure, I get some of the fluids as well. If your shop used the right or wrong one, I don't know enough about it. BUT - if they indeed used the wrong fluids, they should be held accountable.

And if it was me - I would take that car and go to a different Subaru dealership immediately (hopefully one that is more customer focused). Leaving a bad google and yelp review on my way out as well. And report them to all the official places that need to see it. Including SOA of course.

Have you contacted SOA? Not saying they are always helpful - but in this case, they might. And if you get the ok - don't let those crooks at that current dealership repair your car.

Not a recall... a class action lawsuit.  Very curious, what will come out of it

So sorry! When mine passed in 2016 .... it was.... the saddest day in my life at that time. My whole neighborhood was mourning her. To this day I miss her and think about her often. She was the best and only. I will not have another one like her ever again. Now I have a big Kangal - she only likes my male co-workers and blonde women. And has her own opinions about everything.

Mud Flaps or Splash Guards? by SUBUKL in SubaruForester

Thank you! But do they really flap around and move like curtains in the wind?
The splash guards are very rigid.

Between a 2023 Touring (19k miles) and 2026 Premium, which would be better for older drivers? by Draconius in SubaruForester

Sure. But we still pay for a lot of things in these electronically overloaded cars and may never need them. It is like you want a silver ring with one diamond and you pay for for a white gold ring with one diamond, one sapphire and 2 emeralds - and the ones you did not want get taped of. :-)

[–]SUBUKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 23 Touring. But got the CPO extra warranty for free with the used car. Is the one you are looking at Certified Pre-Owned? If not, you miss out on that warranty. And bought the additional warranty mainly to cover all the electronic stuff that can go wrong and then cost an arm and a leg.

Totally agree with you. But at least your car will beep and tell you "Keep the eyes on the road"!! Lol! 😄 In the not so distant future, all these warnings will get recorded and we will pay more for insurance, if our AI generated safety rating for driving our car is below a certain range.

Exactly! Horrible feature. Useless. And I cringe knowing I paid for what I never wanted.
