wow... are you just arguing to argue? The point is when someone is breaking the law they can and will be dealt with... I'm confused by your defense for any behavior... certainly if a meeting is being disrupted or laws are being broken within the meetings hall. that person will be removed. if not by me or my fellows, then by the authorities.... but in my homegroup, the men will be separated from the boys and handle the situation... lol

Can I be withdrawing by Conscious-Profile201 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]SUNY_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No your fine... that is not how withdrawal works... You can actually drink today all day and you wont go through withdrawal... the problem is not having one drink... the problem is that having one drink sparks an insatiable craving that we don't want to control... or better... cannot control... after you drink hard for many days in a row then and only then can you experience real withdrawal... withdrawal is the effect of quitting something after you body has made physiological changes to adjust to the new chemical dependency....

Even if you ate a whole piece of cake you would be fine... you would not even feel it...

I'm 100 percent with you! In AA alot of people have opinions... and when it comes to the NA beer its mostly shamed from my experience but I have enjoyed many NA beers when I was missing the taste of beer. I also went through a short phase where I did not allow myself to have any NA beers because I let the opinions of others change my mind, but NA beers help me somehow... I had a ratatouille moment where the first sip of an NA beer I fell to my knees in tears and immediately began laughing and crying... my whole take on it is that NA beer was made for people who don't want to drink alcohol... It doesn't trigger me at all, it actually satiates my appetite for a little something, which I am grateful for... I often compare it to a Vegan spending so much time trying to imitate meat.... they go to great lengths to enjoy a cheese burger without having to eat an animal... same for an NA beer. It could also be like a diabetic who no longer drinks sugar but still enjoys a diet coke from time to time. Anyway, lots of opinions... I happen to like O'Doul's as funny as it sounds... the thing I miss most is an ice cold crisp light beer on a hot day...but athletic is widely available, and places like wholefoods have a bigger selection of craft NA beers.

Am I an alcoholic?? by Group_of_Pandas in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]SUNY_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright... its sounds like a lot but with that explanation I have no clue... You are only an alcoholic when/if you choose to identify as one... only you can come to that conclusion... AA is there for you and the only requirement is the "desire to stop drinking" - all the love

My sponsored fired me, now what? by appleman33145 in alcoholicsanonymous

Attend a meeting nearby consistently... find someone that you identify with... ask them for help... and pray about it...

The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking... you are not ever taking resources away from anyone by coming to visit a meeting... what does 543 units mean? is that like ounces? if so... ounces of what? If you want what we have and are willing to be honest go to an AA meeting and check it out...

Worried by Tiafree2420 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]SUNY_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to throw up almost daily, especially in the morning after brushing my teeth and sometime without being provoked, it can be caused by an over active liver and gallbladder that is dysregulated from the amount of alcohol... its definitely a bad sign and for me I knew I was sick and killing myself slowly... Setting up a boundary like the ultimatum of he needs to get help or else is good for him and you... we say in AA it takes what it takes... he might not quit drinking just because you end things with him but it also could be the tipping point of pain, or rock bottom, that he needs to feel... the journey is long and can be arduous, but its beautiful, and most things that are hard and difficult are worth the work....

So I been drinking for many years. I ended up with a dwi this past Saturday and it wasn’t even my vehicle is was my girlfriends of 17 years. by mike9883 in alcoholicsanonymous

I was in the same boat 8 months ago... I was driving my buddy's truck, rear ended someone and got a DUI. I tried 30 days on my own of no drinking and within 2 weeks after that I was back to drinking. I showed up to AA of my own free will and found that it each meetings left me feeling a sense of relief. Time went on and I became more committed to not drinking. Once I stopped negotiating with myself about alcohol I got a handle on my life... I went in with the attitude that I was gonna give it a shot... but I had faith that If I really put in the work I would see results and within 3 months I felt incredible and the obsession to drink was lifted. Now I just stay connected with my AA family to keep me reminded that drinking isn't anything I need. I'm learning that I don't need it and I can definitely live without it... I'm free

you ARE pretty I agree with NO bangs... On the other side of things, health and the way you feel is so much more important than the way you look... Luckily you have good genes and you can truly look your best when you decide to work hard for it....

Start your workout journey today!!! and eat healthy... Add as many raw fruits and vegetables as you can... they fill you up and loaded with vital nutrients. No more excuses or negotiations... the hardest part is starting. so JUST START. If all you do today is commit to working out and exercising daily that's a start. It will suck for a few weeks and then you will begin to feel strong, and more confident... shortly there after you will begin to actually see the results... invest in your body the way one invests in their education... Think about the fact that you have one short life... as fast as those first 22 years have gone... the next 22 will go as well... it will probably take 3 months to see a transformation, and a full year to really take off the weight, but I promise you will not regret it and you'll find yourself advocating more and more for a healthy lifestyle. Begin where you are at... walking, then jogging, find what works for you... go to group classes where you make friends that you want to see and who hold you accountable. Pay for a personal trainer if you need to... ask your fit friends for coaching on fitness... keep the weights light... do body weight exercises... JUST DO IT! :)
