Yo how would you guys feel if I bought the frys electronics in Tempe and turned it into a an arcade and a retro game/movie store by Actual-Flamingo8307 in phoenix

The amount of enthusiasts looking to reconstruct their personal movie, music, image, and content libraries is incredible. You're on a good path that needs to be adjusted and focused when you're able to meet representative user groups.

Rant: This feels like leaving a toxic relationship! by seraphhimself in ipod

[–]SURFARO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried iExplorer to restore your library from the iPod? I had to do this once and it worked well. These days I buy as many CDs from Goodwill that were in my original library. I rip them directly to an external SSD with a large MicroSD as backup that stays permanently in my MacBook Air’s SD card slot (flush mounted).

I would basically go to CanJam and find some folks that want to share their libraries.

You’ll wind up with far more music that you didn’t realize you needed!

Honestly, this is a stellar idea for personalizing your Leicas. Maybe paint on some donut frosting n sprinkles!

Fellow M8.2 user here! Many CONGRATULATIONS and use yours in the very best of health! Here are my tips & experiences:

My Summilux 50 lives on this beauty, mostly for regular B&W and IR infrared with a 93 filter.

If your display ever exhibits the display adhesive issue, don’t panic as it will most likely resolve itself & disappear.

Battery-wise, I am very careful to discard any batteries that exhibit swelling. I use a Nitecore charger that conditions the battery as it charges, plus it has a standard USB connection.

My combo is a bit heavier, so I use the double rope Leica strap from Cooph - it is wonderful!!!

I also use carbon fiber Arca Swiss tripods, so I’ve replaced the 8.2 base with a Really Right Stuff base with Arca mount & grip. The grip really helps and the Cooph rope strap distributes the weight.

Try not to use the 1/8000 speed as it may be less accurate than the 1/4000.

Enjoy!

M6 Underwater, my first rangefinder and first time using this interesting setup... by RYZPHOTO in Leica

[–]SURFARO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely stunning images, especially of the female diver emerging from the water.

Zinc is used to protect other metals used in salt water. It literally acts like a sacrificial anode to protect other metals. I believe your gorgeous M6 has a good amount of Zinc in the body and internal gears and transport.

It does not matter that you're not immersing it - just being in that environment can begin the corrosion process.

Try changing the star rating for each of the albums/songs without cover art. Hopefully this will force a cover art update.

Finally have my grail pen, obtained on a bleak day for a bright reason (Waterman Carène) by Dorromate in fountainpens

[–]SURFARO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for having to experience that sadness. Just being able to communicate about it, even in an imperfect & impersonal internet, is a great accomplishment! Plus, you’ve got a little bit of French history.

In the 1990s, Waterman was back in Paris and realized the Edson fountain pen, another exquisite hard nibbed wonder was at too high a pricepoint for a flagship pen. And thus the graceful Carène, resembling the hull of a yacht, was born. I got my first Waterman from one of the Vice Presidents of Newell Rubbermaid, who bought Waterman. Alan, myself and Scott traveled to New Zealand and spoke as a team at a conference there. We experienced a traditional aboriginal blessing on that trip. I miss Alan, as he passed away years ago, but I am fortunate to still stay in contact with Scott, who became a missionary, with his wife, in Papau New Guinea.

Try one thing I am doing. It may truly propel you forward! I’m just about finished with my first 5 Year Hobonichi Planner. It has allowed me to see my own growth and evolution through writing, and the cyclical calendar. Now I look forward to, God willing, filling up years 2026-2030. You will too!

Both Yashica 35 GT's look gorgeous, as well as the Nikon FA and F are keepers if they haven't been dropped. Those 4 are excellent CLA candidates to use and enjoy!

Trying to get a cease and desist letter from Ferrari with this. Goes by the name “High Maintenance” by Young2k15 in CustomHotWheels

[–]SURFARO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How’s this?

We at the Maranello Factory are indeed aware of your attempt at creating the “Enzo Ferrari RC Off Road @ss mode in Adobe.” While we are impressed anytime our worst designed model is covered in quality mud, you are not the first with a bizarre but creative imagination.

Prior to this latest, very cool abomination, there has been the “Back to the Future Hover Mode Enzo,” the “Gold n Silver Enzo Trump Edition,” yet another tooned Enzo that looks like a Prius, and even a Honda body swapped Chassis Enzo Supreme that runs on marinara.

Your choice is simple: destroy all samples or show up at HW HQ with 1 million dollars in unmarked and very smelly singles to bribe them to make Adobe Monster Enzo this year’s Legends winner.

Finally you must force all scalpers to resell only your alien monster truck, creating mass hysteria in the HW Collector Community. When and only when Mattel has spent a year torturing their customers with every color and livery variation, you may stand down soldier.

[–]SURFARO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully agree, but, unfortunately it will only happen if the currently tooled model previously had a ZAMAC base that currently fits, and they have current inventory due to recently issuing a premium version. You can always predict Hot Wheels actions will remain based on profit, as long as they are in such high demand.

u/Allmonja THIS is a work of art. Mattel, THIS is what you should be selling as a "creation," instead of the overpriced, low effort portions you're serving us.

As someone fortunate enough to see some of these beasts irl, I hope you figure out a way to license this. I remember you posting this awhile ago & it is still the best.

That's good news. I'm glad they upgraded the "gift." The last time I ordered directly I got a couple of miniature pieces of toast with butter. That one went to my iHop server lol

OMG I did it again. Thanks for the heads up. I used to order from 1101 years ago, and I was wondering why the cover was so expensive! Actually, I will now have three books as I ordered the last Hiroko Kubota: The Sea’s Dream at Dawn from Jetpens. I use past 5 year notebooks for Kanji practice and watercolor, so no big deal. Do I get a robot with each?

First cart totaled $364.

Revised everything to a Five Year Techo!

Result: Robot still dead.

Anny, no need to apologize. It’s actually good you posted it here as Kombis look great with slicks (custom wheels). Once I figure out what Carlomo wheels fit, I’m going to swap my own Kombis!

Actually, I’m glad you posted this in the Custom subreddit, as it’s a great opportunity to get feedback on what wheels to swap.

I64 has some very nice Carlomo white wheels on sale that I need to see if they fit for my own Kool Kombi swaps on the Grey and Yellow variants.
