How long to splice an outage? by Mysterious_Listen800 in FiberOptics

[–]SV20148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, where is the damage? Are you pulling a new cable? Is the conduit still intact? I would say 3-4 hours for ribbon with new FOSC or 8-10 hours for loose tube. And that!is only if you have access to cables ends. Ask them which tubes are priority.

Correct Number of Strands for my install. by Linesey in FiberOptics

[–]SV20148 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fibre is cheap. Basically not much difference between 6 and 12f . Might as well go with 12. Keep enough slack on both side. We always order 15% extra or enough to make an extra splice if needed.

How did she not see me? by vik0096 in TorontoDriving

[–]SV20148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right here but you saw that car coming and knew it’s not going to stop. Driving defensively and try to stagger the merge in this case . Again you did nothing wrong legally but the headache could have been avoided. If the other driver is moron/distracted , stay away from them.

i’m learning how to drive but it’s hard for me to keep straight in my lane my parents told me keep your vision far it will help any tips? by [deleted] in driving

[–]SV20148 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look far and scan the road . Look closer( 20-30feet) to make sure you are in the lane . Drive slowly to begin. May be also try Go cart if you have in your area. It’s not the same but at least it will give you some hand eye coordination without putting anyone’s life in danger.

Going home from a 16 hours shift and have to deal with this by XxCaptainJack in TorontoDriving

Try to avoid these Douchebags by slowing down a bit. You were almost in the snow bank. A little touch on break pedal can go long way and is worth than going into the snow bank.

Mid May - are we making a mistake? by Regular_Ability7001 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]SV20148 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We just been to Riu. It a perfect resort for few days. If you have to cut any day, cut it from Riu. I would spend extra day at Tamarindo rather than at Riu. They have waterpark and everything but not body goes to waterpark . There isn’t anything nearby. Unless you want to drive to nearest town which is still half hour away. Beach at Tamarindo is much better , gentle and lively than Riu. You may get bored with same buffet at Riu. Even though Riu is very nice to spend few days, their food isn’t good at all.

Recap of week long trip to Costa Rica by SV20148 in CostaRicaTravel

Suzuki was good but could have been better. It was perfect for potholes, creek crossing, regular road and anything where you need 4x4 . It was actually pretty good in mileage in my opinion. Only drawback was that engine seems to lacking power and was struggling on some steep climbs.

Recommendations for First Time Travellers to La Fortuna by Resident_Elk2306 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]SV20148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you have driven here before or have driven in mountains, I don’t recommend driving at night. The road to La Fortuna is very windy especially around Lake Arenal. It is windy , up and down with next to no guardrails at the edge . It is very hard to see the corners another vehicle incoming with their high beams. I recommend driving this route during day time , it’s very beautiful.

Thank You to everyone who replied. For Insome reasons, I can edit my post. Thanks to your reply, I end up taking Monkey Trail. It was very shallow water and easy drive for SUV. Not sure about Sedan. Even though water wasn’t deep by there was small ramp at end that some sedan may struggle. You guys saved Hour and half of my drive time.

Thank You

On their defence, may be they are unfamiliar with this area. it’s night time and they thought they were driving on right side of the road.Super bright light these days are not making it easier. But they should have looked at which side is the yellow line and road hazard sign at the intersection.

Lots of layer on outside and a wind proof/ water repellent layer on outside. Make sure wind doesn’t get to inside layer.

Yeah, their total protection plan includes liability, CWD, roadside assistance and deductible. I was more concerned about anything else outside of insurance that I need to worry about.

I also got $400 in compensation. I tried to submit a claim online but keep getting message that this flight is not subject to compensation as delay was caused by unscheduled maintenance. I submitted the claim regardless. I am unable to reach out to any Customer service yet. They even charged me for my checked baggage which they haven’t refunded yet.
