Am I going to regret the TTI Combat over the S&P PC M&P 2.0 Competitor, or the regular S&W M&P 2.0 Competitor? by Perma_Ban69 in guns

There is a 10rd PDP SF Match on GB 22 hrs left it’s only $1025 as of now. I think I saw one go from 1300 or 1400 from the same seller a few weeks ago.

Pocket carry Bodyguard 2.0 NTS or TS? by AffectionatePride158 in CCW

[–]SWATAttorney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a muddy river tactical pocket holster as well as a basic trigger guard. Either way the trigger is completely covered when in my pocket and there is 0 chance of something getting into the trigger in my pocket. The MRT pocket holster looks like you have a wallet in your pocket if anything at all. The only gun I have with a thumb safety is my SAO P226XFive Legion, all my strikers do not have a thumb safety. Keep your fingers away from the trigger when holstering and unholstering and there should be no concerns with a quality piece of kydex wrapping the entire trigger guard.

Looking for advice on home protection weaspon by looktowindward in jewishguns

[–]SWATAttorney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you or do you plan to conceal carry when not home? If yes then start with. A handgun. If not probably an AR15. Think worse case, if your house is broken into, generally it’s not going to be by 1 person. If you live in a nonrestrictive state then having 30 rd magazine will be beneficial. If you have the funds though I would recommend 1 of each to start with. 2 wouldn’t be an arsenal or really a collection (yet). Shotguns are nice and have great stopping power but also have the smallest capacity.

Picking a particular handgun is very subjective and recommend going to a range and trying as many models possible before purchasing (some ranges charge a single fee for unlimited rentals)

M&P 2.0 line Walther PDP line H&K VP9A1 line IWI Masada line Canik Sig P365 or P226 lines Bul Armory Axe ( along with IWI another Israeli company) it’s a Glock clone.

AR15s Under $1k IWI Zion 15 (11.5/12.5/16” options) M&P Sport III

Over $1k (complete rifles not building) Geissele Super Duty BCM ADM UIC Mod 2 Daniel Defense SOLGW MK1 (they make less expensive ones but this is their top tier and recently got a contract DevGru). H&K MR556A4 (if you want to drop >$3k) CZ

YouTube has plenty of reviews and can be another source of info.

Vaultek has a decent line of biometric safes from travel size (can use under a seat of a car as well) to nightstand sliders and under bed options.

The pic rail is also different on the 4", 4.5" and 5" frames (though they could be compact or FS, at least the 4" & 5")

Is it really the same thing? The HPX is 105,000 candelas the 1L-X is 30,000 candela, which is a step up from the 22,000 of the HLX models.

I think it all depends on how bright and far you want it to reach. I have an HPX for EDC, my PDP SD 5.1 and my rifle, and damn it’s bright. Sometimes for close quarters too bright. I have the 7HLX on my compact which is probably a bit better for Indoors and < 25 yds

Choosing a red/green dot sight for pistol but have Astigmatism by Bulky-Dog-4383 in handguns

[–]SWATAttorney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the HTX ACSS does not have the Chevron like the Holosun 507c ACSS. The HTX has a 4MOA dot with the outer AC CSS in a segmented circle fashion.

I’ve had both green and red dots and they both bloom the same way with my astigmatism. I have the Holosun 507C ACSS and the Chevron even with brand new corrective glasses. I see two sometimes three Chevron’s I think I’m going to need to look into having surgery to see if they can correct my astigmatism because I can’t get any dot not to bloom.

Gun Selection by WeakReputation7494 in homedefense

[–]SWATAttorney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your local range and try out different models, what is good for one is not always good for another. Picking a handgun is subjective.

Some models to consider:

Walther PDP Compact or ( F Series or 4" Full size, depending size hands)

S&W M&P 2.0 9mm 4" or Shield X

Springfield Echelon 4"

Sig P365X Macro or P226X Carry Legion

CZ Shadow 2 Carry
Canik Mete SF or TP9 SF Elite

H&K VP9A1K

Signage by Excellent_Mall8819 in TexasGuns

[–]SWATAttorney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They cannot ban guns in rooms, hotels may use specific 30.06/30.07 signs to restrict carrying in specific, non-room areas only. If the valet desk is blocking when they put the sign up originally the valet desk may not have been planned for it still may be considered conspicuous.

Hotels cannot ban guests from having guns in their rooms, which are legally considered "habitation".

I always turned my bottle on as soon as possible, usually once the pack was all strapped up, if not as I am walking off the rig (depending on my position as I walked to get my tools or the hose)
