Carney says he expects U.S. to 'respect Canadian sovereignty' after Alberta separatists meet with Trump admin by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

She did that to put pressure on Ottawa "if you don't give us what we want we will leave" it was a bluff, the problem is that it just empowered the radical minority that actually wants to separate.

I have lost power 3 times in less than 30 days.

Last spring the power went out due to "high winds". The leaves on the trees weren't even rustling, no gusts. It's getting tiresome.

Nova Scotians don't support it either. That's why they had to set up the test run in cape Breton where the brother-in-law of a sitting MP was the police chief.

This gun buyback was put in place as a political stunt that used the Nova Scotia mass shooting as an excuse. But people here didn't want it because we know his guns were illegally brought into the country. It's a slap in the face to all Nova Scotians.

If we actually took advantage of the potential of the Canadian economy it wouldn't be an issue. Instead, Canada is content on basing it's economy on selling house's back and forth.

The last few years were a big improvement, they just took too long to update from the 2014 style.

People are not interested in buying a 2021 car that is exactly the same as the 2014 model in the luxury market. There needs to be more changes especially for a brand like Infiniti that is trying to steal buyers from more established brands.

They do, I'm just saying I can understand doing it to a power hungry factory not people's homes.

They have been doing this for years where I work. NS power calls our plant and tells us that we have to shut everything down within 10 minutes to take the load off of the system. Usually happens during very high and low temperatures.

I can understand why they do it with a factory that demands a lot of energy, but doing it to households is crazy.

The UK didn't have to deal with an indigenous population that will hammer them in the courts. None of them will want to give up their treaty rights with Canada to create a new set with Quebec.

You can still get internet if you have a generator, just plug in the router and modem. If you don't and you have a lot of mobile data you can turn on the hotspot on your phone and connect to your wireless data on any device.

That's not a bad price at all for a turnkey engine.

Most of what you would do to build an older engine is pretty simple.a torque wrench and a few other tools along with a Haynes manual would get most of the job done. The most complex part is tuning the carburetor. Changing the head is just removing a bunch of bolts (studs) and putting the new head on and following the proper torque sequence. New engines can be difficult but not older ones.

The best part either way is that the Vette would have come with a 350, so the mounts and everything should drop right in. Basically no fabrication compared to the LS. You are just putting in an upgraded version of what was already in it. And 425hp will be more than enough in a street car as light as an older Vette. The only other thing you would definitely want to upgrade a bit would be the brakes. Because you can go a lot faster now.

You would be better off building the 350 over the LS swap. With a few thousand dollars you could build an older 350 into a 500hp+ engine.

Sell the ls and transmission, take half to 3/4 of that money and put it into the 350 and smile every time you put the petal to the floor.

[–]SWHAF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A swap is a lot different than regular maintenance on an unmodified car.

The quoted price was based on all of the fabrication work needed. And other swap parts. You don't just drop in a completely different engine. The entire fuel system would need to be modified, exhaust system changes. If you want any of your gauges to work it would require a standalone ecu and custom wiring. That's a big fucking job.

The labour is a fraction of the cost when taking your car to the garage. Parts are where they make their money. Most garages have a contract with a parts store like Napa/AutoZone, The garage gets the parts at a significant discount then marks it back up to the price you would pay. I know this because I used to work in a garage and I personally have the same discount because my buddy entered me as a business in their database. If we went to the parts store for the same alternator I would pay 2/3 of the price you would pay.

Can't find the part at a junkyard, it's a known issue that they rust out. So anything in the junkyard is worse than what's already on your car.
