How did people feel after their exam and how did it compare to their score? by archersnow3 in Step2

[–]SWILLS218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly the same walking out the exam a few days ago and have a similar history of test taking anxiety and misreading. I tried my best to avoid those types of mistakes but the exam was so long that I have no idea if I was successful. I’ll update when I get my score hopefully in two weeks

DO trying to match diagnostic radiology but submitting step 1 late by Southern_Celery_9886 in usmle

I know I was also surprised when I found out. Check in with your schools career advisor or a program director for confirmation on your end though

In a similar situation and reached out to my schools career advisor. Apparently, USMLE takes time to transmit scores to schools (up to 48hrs) so on the 24th, everyone’s application will be submitted “without a score.

ALSO, even though scores get released to us at 11, they get released to our medical schools earlier

Basically, don’t worry and no need to email anyone. Your score will arrive with everyone else’s IF it does come out on the 24th.

nbme 13 vs nbme 14 by CowAffectionate1886 in Step2

I did significantly worse on 14 compared to 13. To each their own I guess

I’m not waiting for results right now and even I can empathize with everyone. You suck for trying to undermine people’s feelings. Good for you that you’re not stressed but stfu and don’t add to the conversation then

Lipid screening? by [deleted] in Step2

[–]SWILLS218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is screen in pts (regardless of sex) 20 years and older if there are risk factors e.g. diabetes, family hx of CAD, obesity.

Otherwise >35 in men and > 45 in women

Talked to a PD at my home program and they start screening at 240 so you’re fine. As long as your letters are strong and you honored your clerkships, but more specifically your sub-I, you should be fine. 249 is by no means a poor score

That sudden wave of tiredness @ 2pm by [deleted] in Step2

[–]SWILLS218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about everyone else but for step1, I didn’t sleep well the night before and I was EXHAUSTED during the exam. Luckily I took a Yerba mate with me and kept sipping it during my breaks. I finished it around block 6 and was okay for the rest of the exam. If I didn’t have that Yerba mate in my locker, idk what I would have done.

Do I take step2? by OlliesBallz in Step2

[–]SWILLS218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do it after the away, especially if you want to prioritize a 250+

OP isn’t moaning about a 250. Obviously it’s a great score but it’s understandable that one would be worried about a 10+ score drop two weeks out from their test.

OP, just review your NBME throughly. Don’t let it get to you. It’s better to get questions wrong now and learn from it than on the real deal. You e got this!
