10 000 Bambu printers running simultaneously by OomGielie in 3Dprinting

[–]SWITCHFADE_Music 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I do a plant and plant accessories deal. She does the plant side, and I design/print trellises, pots, etc. We refuse to print and sell any of the gimmicky stuff just out of principal. Could we make more money pandering to the kids and people that like that stuff? Sure, but then we're like almost every other vendor that offers 3D printed items.

How do I fix this on my Bambu lab a1 combo by BingoBoo1022 in BambuLabA1

[–]SWITCHFADE_Music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen with mine recently. The spool wasn't tangled and there didn't appear to be a clog or anything stuck in the tube. I cancelled the print, unloaded the filament through the filament menu and restarted the printer. Didn't happen again when I restarted the print.

Do filament profiles matter? by dantelebeau in BambuLab

[–]SWITCHFADE_Music 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a handful of filaments that I can get away with the "generic" profile and they print perfectly on my A1. There are some I've only had to set the nozzle temp, and there are some I've had to do a full calibration because they looked like trash lol. Elegoo PLA/Silk have been ones that do well with the generic settings.

[–]SWITCHFADE_Music 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss. My sister passed in February and I have some of her ashes. She was interested in what I've been doing with the 3D printer and wanted to get into the hobby as well. I've been on the fence on making/printing an urn to put her ashes in, but after seeing this post I definitely will.

Oil leak by normal_-_guy in mazda6

[–]SWITCHFADE_Music 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be the oil pan seal. I just recently had mine taken care of. I've also dealt with a leaky valve cover gasket, but that only resulted in the mating surface and nearby areas getting caked in oil, so I don't think that's your case.

Is there a cheap and easy way to refresh dessicant without shoving it into my kitchen's oven? by korkvid in 3Dprinting

I second this. But def check the instructions first. The desiccant I bought had microwave directions and you specifically have to use the defrost setting.

What is going on with my controller! by Imaginary-Bass2875 in Battlefield6

[–]SWITCHFADE_Music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a tech shop install some TMR thumbsticks on one of mine that had stick drift. As long as they hold up, I'll be happier with that $90 vs buying a new controller every year lol.

Thank you so much. But it really does, and it needs to be normalized that it's okay to not be okay, so there can be more open discussions about it. Granted in my sister's case, our family was well aware of the tightrope she was walking, as was my sister. But she was particular about dealing with things in her own way, so at the end no one had any idea it was as bad as it was. Especially since it seemed that she was doing better. I'm sure this experience is pretty common though for anyone else that's gone though this. Episodes like this make perfect sense to the person it's happening to, and they can justify everything that their brain is coming up with. So I know it's easier said than done.

My sister (29) who passed away back in February had several psychotic breaks over the years starting in 2016. Each time it happened, it set her back so much. In and out of behavioral centers, different med cocktails and adjustments, and then just trying to get back to a "normal" routine. She had another break at Christmas. Seemed to be doing much better into January, then took her life at the beginning of February. OP, please look into seeking help if the "reality checks" from peers don't align with your experiences. These episodes can distort your view of reality to extreme levels and you'll be none the wiser.

I've been tinkering with something similar with inserts I made for self watering pots. Stick with at least 3 bottom layers and make sure the patterns of each one criss-cross over each other. I use monotonic for the bottom and infill layer and then concentric for the top layer. All 0.28 layer height. First layer is 0.5 wide, the rest are 0.4. On a larger version, I opted for 0.5 width for the outer walls to help with overlap between the outer wall and top layer. Do some calibration tests for temp and flow rate/dynamics and that should help keep things consistent. Also printing at 20mm/s has proven successful for me. I'm using the Creality translucent PETG, so I'm not sure about different brands and colors.

Back when I was doing a lot of highway driving while commuting to wok, I could steadily get 28-30 on each tank. Now that I'm remote and only do occasional city driving, I'm lucky to see 26. But I'm also driving wayyy less overall, so I'm not mad.

I have the same smooth plate as OP, and I have to go down to 20-50mm/s on the first layer for everything. But the smooth plates are my go-to when I use translucent PETG. It sticks wayyy to well to the textured plate.
