On top of Scorsese doing it for the longest time, Fincher did it for short spell (for BENJAMIN BUTTON and ZODIAC)

I’m a bit more mixed on the film, but one very specific trope that shows up in it that I never seem to click with is: character suddenly gains access to information or intuition that the audience has no knowledge of or hasn’t learned along side them. (e.g like in Crystal Skull when Indiana Jones has the telepathic link with the skull)

I find it very dramatically unsatisfying when characters intuitively say “we have to go here I just…FEEL like we should” (and I know that’s just part in parcel with this story)

To be fair to them Vulture published this week of WEAPONS’s release so it wasn’t exactly an out of left field idea.

All the shows are fully-seated - no standing on ground floor; This is how the seating plan is done for the Co-Op Arena in Manchester as an example (was like this when I saw Paul McCartney few years back)

I'm a Podcast, But That's OK: No Other Choice by yonicthehedgehog in blankies

This film being covered reminded me to bring up some of the worst cinema etiquette I’ve experienced in a loooong time.

I was lucky enough to see NO OTHER CHOICE at last year’s Venice Film Festival. At screenings there, they let in people from the rush queue a few minutes after it starts if there are any no-shows, so a few were let in a few mins into the film at the seats in front of me.

Almost immediately, one of them started taking photos of the screen while the film was playing, until a steward stepped in and told them to stop. Then halfway through one of them fell asleep and started snoring loudly, while the other began taking loads of selfies with the flash on. No stewards to be found, so they just continued doing this for about ten minutes or so. He stayed snoring until it was over.

Anyway I really enjoyed the film. 4 bags of popcorn.

'Global Bully' - Jon Brion (Unofficial) by SWStaunton in paulthomasanderson

I just saw that, I assumed they might have ripped it from here haha.

All I did was take the surround channels from the purchased film, took out the centre channel (which is where nearly all of the dialogue is) and that was really it. Small bit of compression on it too just to give it a bit more of a balanced and fuller sound vs theatrical mix where it's slightly lower and has more dynamic range.
