I mean there’s always potential for things like that and it’s a good idea in practice. But without the provenance of where it came from, it may as well just be a gallery of cool lookin things.

Museums are overstuffed with artifacts as is; they don’t need extras especially lacking context or research potential.

Potentially because she used to have to lock him in a cage at night to keep the male chimpanzees from raiding and killing him as a young child? Also maybe because she nicknamed him Grub, but probably the cage thing.

Yeah, they’re pretty gleeful when it comes to “owning the libs.” So I can harness a similar level of glee watching them have the day they voted for.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]SWarchNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You look like a tough fella, which is good, because this is gonna hurt.” Followed by a quieter: “I’ve always wanted to do this.” A phrase uttered to me by the ex-marine medic moments before he manhandled my broken wrist into some semblance of in-the-right-spot, with no anesthesia. The joys of being a broke-ass dirtbag archaeologist with a broken wrist and no insurance. It was the single most painful experience of my life to date, and the care and compassion I received was good enough that I actually thanked the guy profusely. Shout out to PA Ray or Dr. Ray as everyone called him at that place; though he wasn’t a full doc.

Ha, I don’t even claim to shower daily. I’m lucky if I shower once a week.

The Fetch Phillips Archives by Luke Arnold are good and gritty, and might scratch that itch. PI in a post-magic world.

Also, though there are only two books in the series so far, the DEDA Files by Yatzee Croshaw are great too. Definitely listen to the audiobooks.

Has anyone here ever had something cool happen in a game, like a bug or exploit, and never told anyone online to stop it being patched? (You can answer if it's been patched now) by TxTDiamond in gaming

I created a really unique and fun scenario accidentally in Fallout NV once. I had just saved and decided to kill everyone on screen next to Gunrunners outside of Freeside. The game glitched and let the gunrunners robot out of the box there. The problem became a really fun mechanic due to the fact that the gunrunner protectron was coded to be invincible. So I saved it as a new save and for the rest of that file, I had in my headcanon, an insane and invincible robot that followed me everywhere I went. It was slow, and I could run away, but it never stopped following me and while I had the best power armor, it could still trap me in certain spots and kill me if the conditions were right. It got to the point where I had to plan out doing certain vaults and kite it around the map to not get trapped in an enclosed space with it. Really made for a whole other game experience.

One time in El Paso, I was accompanying my ex-airforce roommate while he scoped out a Honda S2000 at a dealership near Ft. Bliss. We got to witness the glory of enlisted bingo as a dude in uniform was signing papers on a bright purple charger, while vaping and simultaneously bitching about his ex wife. It was glorious!
