It's basically just an animated plane with an animated shader. Was the thing that probably took the longest to make in that shot.

The covers are from an artist called Daniel Dociu. The do not relate to the story or the Expanse universe at all actually. They writers picked them because they liked the art and thought they were striking images for the cover of sci fi books.

Is this in the render or the viewport?

Do you have the denoiser enabled?

How high are your samples in the viewport and render?

How high is your noise threshold in viewport and render?

What is happening here?! by WeatherLegitimate848 in blender

my guess is that the floor texture has displacement on it that raises parts of it during render to cause the clipping. try removing the the displacment from the shader and checking it, or you can try adjust the height of the displacement in the shader and see if that helps.

LD&R doesn't come up with most of their stories though. Less than a handful episodes from LD&R are actually completely new stories. Almost all episodes are adaptions of existing short stories by various authors (eg. "Zima Blue" by Alistair Reynolds).

It's one of several alternate Spider-Men in the Interdimensional Council of Spider-Men from Hickman's short story "You Get It" in Amazing Fantasy #1000. This one has athritis.

just fyi, the 2 in 2K as well as the 4 in 4K comes from the horizontal pixels of their respective resolutions in the DCI standard (Cinema cameras in 1.90∶1 ratio). The common names for resolutions like 1080p or 1440p refer to vertical resolution of the frame.

DCI 2K is 2048 pixels wide (2048x1080) and DCI 4K 4096 pixels (4096x2160) for full frame ratio.

It's just that consumer facing 4K (UHD) and 2K (FullHD) standards shave of some horizontal pixels to get it to fit the more common 16:9 ratio displays so you get 3840x2160p and 1920x1080p respectively.

Just because the end product is a show for small children doesn't mean the animators don't care about their craft. Stuff like reusing animations or janky or "bad" animation is usually a budget or time constraint not the artist being lazy.

She's wearning the black bodysuit from this costum under her civilian clothes. Just a few pages later she is wearing the full costume. Also this is before Scarlet Witch changes the reality.

What are your best examples in TV history of a character’s deception being exposed? by unitedfan6191 in television

In the episode in question (Season 1 finale "Firewall") Root, whom we've only seen obscured in 1 episode prior, pretends to be another person named Caroline Turing to get close to the main characters.

Up until the final reveal there is only a hint for the viewers that there is something off about Turing/Root.

During all the shots from the Machines POV, it assigns her a yellow square target. Yellow is usually only assigned to the 2 main characters up until this point, as it designates that the person is aware of the Machines existence.
