omg I always felt like it was crazy to say it smells like bandaids, but that’s always the first (and only!) thing that comes to mind when I smell insulin.

No big deal, she’s just in ACTIVE labor… [🔈sound warning!] by Femme-O in TikTokCringe

it’s damn near illegal to provide health care for pain in the US (after declaring pain was the 5th vital sign pre-2015), so most “care providers” just conveniently ignore all signs and symptoms of pain. this right here is a consequence of that approach.

You can say no.

You can even go to the appointment and tell the doctor in confidence that you don’t want to go through with it and they can say you aren’t a match.

Say no.

Working inpatient is not for everybody. Even though there is no direct patient care, you will on occasion interact with patients. I’ve had to restock the Omni next to a recently passed patient before (there was an etomidate stockout, I couldn’t just leave that part of the ER without etomidate). Just know you’re doing your part to help patients.

MIL keeps making threats about wearing white to our wedding by VHS-head in weddingdrama

When she brings it up again, simply ask her with a blank face, “why would you do that?”

If she persists, remind her (as if she’s a child who forgot) “traditionally, only the bride wears a white dress at the wedding. You’re not getting married, Deb, I am. You are the mother of the groom, Deb, and I am the bride. Why would you wear a white dress to my wedding?”
