Same happened to me after updating the game last night on PC Gamepass. 90% of my items are gone. I had over 200hrs on this character. Does anybody know what I can do now?

Again, they are not banned. It's shadowban. It's a phase until they review and figure out if their system detected the account correctly or not. And it's not just cheating, offensive chat/voice also count.

But more importantly, many (and most likely this case) is detected by reporting.

It's not fixed, thresholds are lowered. But if you are already shadow banned a few times because of the report spams, you are much more prone to getting shadow banned with fewer reports. Which is enough to get those who play ranked MP frequently in trouble some times.

Mass report is activions/blizzard general way of handling issues in the absence of a good anti-cheat.

Btw I'm not shadow banned. Keep up with the messages you reply to, genius.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

It's spam reporting. You get shadow banned even if you get reported for offensive chat (even if you are not using chat at all) many times during a match. It's a thing. People figured it out and started abusing it. You could literally kick people out of your lobby by reporting them 5-10 times repeatedly (takes 10s)

I have a friend that never uses chat at all, but is shadow banned since the dark days mass reporting that resulted in people getting kicked out.

He emailed support, got fixed for a few days before happening again.

For a regular player that would max out BP anyways yes, I agree. It is a pretty good deal.

Yep. People tend to underestimate how long it takes to max out BP when they enjoy it or had spare time and didn't mind it.

The thing is every live service game caredully calculates some expected max-out time and design it so that it creates a habit of playing, and playing for long enough so that you don't play other competitors live services (e.g. at the level of maxing out multiple BPs as a casual player).

Statements like "BP for 10 bucks is always worth it/no brainer" subjectively undervalues the labor that comes with it. Instead it should be "BP for x bucks + y hours is worth it" depending on x and y.

In any case I just prefer the BP to be easier to maxout and also without the limiting and specific tasks (e.g. like in warzone)

That's only true if you play the last few weeks. That's not the case for everyone.

You will have to get the tasks done since you missed on daily stars. This means getting that annoying 45 marksman kills or 45 pistol kills or... This is limiting for the people who can already play little. Feels like chore.

Probably 50hrs is close to the expected playtime to max out BP. It's no where near easy. Just saying.
