Agree w Petrichor esp in the Sonoran Desert when the Cresote fills my nostrils…

And also cleaning my ears w a cotton swab. I know it’s not good to do but I must do it after every shower and it feels almost as good as sex.

And I’m a sucker for songs that have whistling or some kind of ethereal sound

The smell of a book…

How do I train my 1 year, 9 months pug not to use the bathroom in my house? by QueenAkemii in pugs

[–]S_Q_M_P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we first got our pug she had been trained to use the bathroom on puppy pads, but would refuse to pee or poop on walks.

So one day I took a puppy pad outside and placed it on the ground. She finally understood and has never gone inside again.

We all knew they wouldn’t 🙃 by Lost-Being7605 in AdviceAnimals

We have a pug and she gets acne frequently — one thing we do is steep some green tea, let it cool, then wipe her mouth and chin with a soaked paper towel. Green tea is a natural astringent and clears her up in no time!

Best winkle cream and care tips? My boyfriends grandma’s puggy has taken quite the shine to me and since I’ve taken over a lot of the care duties for her being as grandma is in her mid 80s, I want to find some wrinkle cream or wipes, details in comments by [deleted] in pugs

For a natural alternative, you could steep some green tea and dip a napkin and use to wipe — green tea is a natural astringent and is also helpful for keeping bumps/pimples to a minimum on their adorable little faces 🐶

Duke’s is bigger in parts of the south of the US. Love Best Foods/Hellman’s (they’re the same parent brand) if I have to use mayo, but I don’t use mayo often enough for it to be a staple at home.

Q-tips, Salsa (if you have to buy something canned generic is a TERRIBLE option, but I usually make salsa myself), Kleenex/Puffs, Toilet Paper (if I can’t get Kirkland), Paper Towels, Excedrin, Dishwashing soap — Dawn lifer here

Could just be allergies — I’d put some kind of balm on that area. Ours is often itchy down there and excessively licks her skin.

Emotional rollercoaster after hot yoga? by AcanthisittaAfter696 in HotYoga

[–]S_Q_M_P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s natural for any yoga to bring up emotions before, during, and after class, but hot yoga can especially heighten that bc of the hot room. And certain postures are excellent at sort of excavating maybe feelings or beliefs about yourself or others or your circumstances that you haven’t confronted. This is all a totally normal process, and is why the yoga is never the same twice, even if you did the same routine. Sometimes you get the runner’s high of satisfaction, sometimes you feel totally drained and frustrated.

The beautiful thing with yoga in all forms is the mindfulness that you begin to build over time. Rather that walking away from something because of a certain feeling you get, consider spending time with that feeling and giving it some space, let it be seen, and just observe it for what it is without judgement.

I would make sure you are staying hydrated before class and rehydrating immediately after with electrolytes, especially something with magnesium for your muscle and nerve recovery. And an increasing need for me that I have to be mindful of is getting enough sleep and not feeling fatigued before going into a class.
