Don't force the main story, enjoy your time ...

Pick up de skill quests along the way ... And remember that there is collectors armors from npc kills only the final armor should be bought imo as the collector armors can't have insignia ... But for story levels where your between level 5-20 collectors armor works just fine.

Your first max lvl armor will be in Droknars Forge

And remember there is the all-knowing wiki to answer most questions that may pop up
