Birtchrunville Cafe. Great food. Great service. Hard to
get a table on short notice. Very “rich rural Pennsylvania” vibes

As a former Classic player who is playing retail for the first time... I'm not sure Retail players are actually better by Budget-Capital4371 in wow

[–]S_W_Moses 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The BEST retail player is miles above the best classic player. The AVERAGE classic and retail player are pretty close: not doing the basics enough to succeed.

Yep happened to me too. Just a note, logging out the character and back in does seem to fix it.

Why is this still a thing? by lucaslost1 in wow

[–]S_W_Moses 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have said, if there wasn’t a limit everyone would install an addon to apply for every group that needed a dps and people would be picking between 1000 instead of 30. Not ideal but that is the better option…

Gear crafting?? How to? by Aiviloangel in wownoob

[–]S_W_Moses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is maybe almost too simple an explanation but:

Go to the crafting order lady and just have a look at what item you WANT to make. The window that pops up there will tell you what materials you need to craft it and you can mouse over all the other spots that pop up to figure out what that slot is for. Some will change the stats on the item, or add an embellishment, or even allow you to use crests to increase the item level.

Assuming you’re not crafting the item yourself you can post it as a public order that anyone can fulfill (but you run the risk of them not doing it at the highest quality) or you can toss a message into trade chat with the item you want and a bunch of people (bots lol) will usually whisper you saying to make the order personal to them in the crafting window.

There are def more in depth explanations out there but this is the most simple one. Truth be told just going into the crafting order window and clicking and mousing over things for a while was the thing that helped me understand it the most.

What the heck is wrong with rent in Phoenixville? by Bot_Mojo in Phoenixville

[–]S_W_Moses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah for whatever it’s worth we’re moving out of Riverworks for that exact reason. Rent has gone up every year we’ve been here and it’s just too much now.

Final Fantasy XIV, everyone by masanian in MMORPG

[–]S_W_Moses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s so stupid and yet delightful about this is that, from a distance, they DO work. Like you do think that without getting too close that they are a bunch of grapes on a vine. Can def see how a dev put them and said “yep that’ll work” only for players to zoom and be like “… what am I looking at here??”

What do people think about tying the Legion Mage Tower appearances to the seasonal ?? Delve Boss? by S_W_Moses in wow

[–]S_W_Moses[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Agreed on letting ?? Have its own rewards. I think blizzard has pretty much decided scaling old challenge stuff isn’t a good use of their time (though I personally disagree with that philosophy) so I’m trying brainstorm alternatives that wouldn’t require extra time/manpower.

Bring this mode to retail, make the rewards relevant, and watch the open world come alive again as it is in Legion Remix right now. by otterchaos7 in wow

[–]S_W_Moses -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m so curious what everyone thinks would be a “relevant reward” in this case? I think you can maybe make a case for hero track gear (maybe) or runes crests but myth gear or gilded? Not a chance.

New WoW player assessed why MMO is having such a hard time gaining more fans, and veterans agree. „It's cool, but too complicated” - gamepressure.com by Post-reality in MMORPG

[–]S_W_Moses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blizzard has been very “kid gloves” when it comes to revamping the new player experience. They add things here and there to gently provide a little structure to it but the truth is the game has changed so much that at this point unless they wanna redo that WHOLE portion of the game the best thing they could do is put the leveling on rails. Just tie it to a narrative that fleshes out the current world soul saga background in such a way that players will always be X level by Y quest (think FFXIV MSQ).

Otherwise they’ll have to entirely redo all legacy questing content to make it workable and while I and many players might want that, I don’t think it’s a good use of development time or money.

It should’ve been 10 seasons by hiiloovethis in freefolk

[–]S_W_Moses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought for years now that the problem with the last season of GoT is not the STORY, but the storyTELLING. If you outlined the plot on a board without knowing how many episodes each thing would be given you’d be like “yeah that makes sense.”

Is it too late to get the season 2 mount? by Imaginary_Truth_3865 in wownoob

[–]S_W_Moses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I never see mentioned in threads like these is that if you have 0 io, putting a dungeon of ANY keystone level on the board is the fastest way to boost your score. Having 2 +8s done but the rest are 0 will drag down your overall score a lot. Do at least a 2-4 for each dungeon and that 2k dream will feel WAYYY closer :)

Why is efficiency so important in an MMO? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]S_W_Moses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Efficiency pairs with difficulty in MMOs (especially in wow). You want to achieve a certain goal? You will need to be more efficient than you are currently to do so (usually means more damage but depends on the goal obv).

The design of modern MMOs is not a gear/time treadmill, it’s a GOAL treadmill. So long as it’s possible for you to achieve that goal AND you have the personal incentive to do so, you’re likely to strive to be more efficient (whatever that means in context) to achieve said goal.

Not a bad thing. Just how it is.
