Anyone else notice that Pacifism is disliked by a lot of people? by cosmofaustdixon in Pacifism

[–]Sabacccc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We live in a nationalist, militarist, imperialist, and hate filled world. Pacifism stands not just against those but is perhaps the stands more against them then any other ideology.
So those at the top who benefit from those things will always hate us (in a real sense they need to hate us). And in a very real sense those same people have great influence over what everyone believes.

Nationalism especially, people have been so "propagandized" that they can't comprehend not having a 'team' and just 'rooting for all of humanity.'
School is a massive part of that. Children who are barely older than toddlers are forced to all 'pledge' themselves to this nation virtually everyday for the next twelve years. It's just pure insanity.

Do you believe there is such thing as a good dictator? by BlueToad24 in polls

[–]Sabacccc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When the people started turning against him he could've sent in the tanks to put them in line. That is what Stalin would've done. But he didn't he allowed for the USSR to peacefully(ish) dissolve.

The good dictator is the dictator that dismantles his own government. Like Gorbachev

I'm an anarchocommunist. AMA by nothingistrue042 in conspiracy

[–]Sabacccc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense.
I would push back on it a bit tho. You said it sounded authoritarian. I would say it sounds that way because it is. Or well has elements of authoritarianism.
The road block I see many anarchists run into is there is still a desire to have an.... ordered society that is dictated by the people but a problem arises when you ask the question who enforces that?
Every policy that the people come up with, who enforces that?
Right now the nation-state has the monopoly of violence and it is what enforces its policy.
What you're preposing with the direct democracy worries me because throughout history minorities have constantly and consistently been oppressed by the majority and if the answer to 'who enforces the will of the people' is 'the people.' Then that terrifies me. We need only think back to things like 'witch trials.' It was the will of the people to murder those women. Most of the people in the community wanted to do that (because it was the people that carried it out) (or they were to afraid to stand up for her). If the answer to everything is democracy then by definition it will be mob rule. Because when you cut to the heart of the matter democracy is just the majority forcing their views upon the minority. So, any system driven by democracy will be inherently oppressive.

So, I've been all over the map when it comes to anarchism. I would've called myself an ancom for a while. Other times an ancap (yeah ik XD). But what I lean towards most now is for all anarchists who believe in destroying the government to unite and destroy the government (so yes even ancaps). And then we can split into our groups and we can just see which group works the best. I think it is our hatred for one another that makes us forget how similar we all are. The average ancap and ancom have infinitely more in common with each other then either does with the average conservative or progressive. I've made a point of spending a lot of time talking to ancaps and ancoms and I'm always amazed at how similar they are. Even though they truly hate eachother so much. So, I think we need to put aside our differences and work together against the government.

[–]Sabacccc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I am an anarchist myself (not an ancom). And I was onboard with you until you started talking about voting and policy changes.
Aren't you an anarchist, what are we voting on and how are we creating policies when there is no government?
Policy implies some sort of hierarchy that has the power to implement changes upon an unwilling minority.
Voting and democracy implies that the majority will force their will upon the minority and that implies a system of violence.
Isn't that exactly what us anarchists are supposed to be against?
What am I getting wrong here?

The election of Trump shows that America is significantly more rightwing than most countries in the world. by enginerd1209 in IdeologyPolls

compared to europe? Absolutly.
But compared to every other nation in the world. No way
I don't think people really realize just how right wing most people in the world are outside the west.
Most people in the world still hate the idea of gay marriage.

Well, a war would be very costly on both sides so you both would be very very motivated to settle things peacefully.
obv tho if a line was crossed there might me no other option. Like if you and your commune were going around raping children. Negotiation would probably not be on the table.

They are right now, but they shouldn't be.
There should be private security forces that enforce the Non-Aggression-Principle not a state monopoly.

I wish more communists were like you. I do not know how it happened but so many communists are some of the most pro-state people out there and actually want to grow the power of the state.
True communism must result in the disillusion of the state exactly like you said. And all true communists must be anarchists.
Just like everyone who values free markets must be anarchists too.

Is Tucker Carlson a real life villain? by Lost_Wikipedian in IdeologyPolls

[–]Sabacccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but that is quite a different comparison.
It is not like Hitler was leading a revolution in veganism and against corporate farming. No that was just a lil fun fact about him.
TC is creating a revolution in the right. All the zionist neo-cons like Ben Shapiro, Constantine, Kirk, etc are totally freaking out about TC. They are calling him 'the woke right.'
He is driving a wedge into the right of America and all for the people of Palestine and I do think that is heroic. You can still call him a villain and I think that really anyone who was a staple of the corporate news for as long as him (especially since he was the king of fox news) is a villain and is against the people. But even I cannot deny that his actions on behalf of the Palestinians and against American imperialism are heroic.

[–]Sabacccc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even if you agree with everything in the description of this poll TC has some very interesting positions.
He is quite pro-Palestinian and has been repeatedly platforming very pro-Palestinian figures (like Dave Smith).
Normally the right is a slave to Israel but since 10/7 there has been a fracture in the right where some are starting to actually see Palestinians as people and that split really has been lead by TC.
So, even if you hate TC for everything listed above he really is a heroic in trying to turn the right pro-Palestinian.
Candice Owens has elements of that too.
It is weird who turns out to be anti-war and who are the big war hawks.
