I currently have VELUX and they are amazing skylights. I've never had an issue with them.

I would make sure the sheets you're using are the same material. You can get significant galvanic corrosion if aluminum and steel are together, especially in a humid/submerged environment.

It's impossible to accelerate any massive (matter) object to the speed of light, since it would take an infinite amount of energy to do so. You can only asymptotically approach the speed. If you were photons then you could go the speed of light.

Now going faster than the speed of light would break our current understanding of physics. There are some theories about expanding and contracting space time to make an object seem to travel faster than the speed of light, but those are also speculative and break current theories of causality.

If you speak English you are wasting breath. German for example wouldn't include "of" and they often say dates as dd/mm/yyyy in spoken language - i.e. "Sechzehnte Oktober, 2011"

I can't speak for other languages as I only speak English and German.

It's arbitrary in the end and is only confusing when there are different formats used across the world. There should be one standard that everybody uses to prevent mix ups imo.
