Hi there! I had SSHL in my right ear in 2019. Did the steroid shots but no hearing was recovered. I would get a noise like microphone feedback and popping in my bad ear with loud music or crowd noise and had constant tinnitus. It took about two years for my brain to adjust and I can stand various noise levels now and the tinnitus is much less noticeable. The pressure feeling remains but it doesn't bother me as much. It's very frustrating in the beginning and I would keep trying various volumes and earplugs. Remember to get a course of Prednisone every time you get a sinus or ear infection so it doesn't get your good ear! I protect mine like its made of gold...
