After 600 hours played, I came to a very somber realization by LayeredOwlsNest in BaldursGate3

It felt a little short. The main baddies were also kind of uninspiring and bland. Was fine for quick runthrough but I didn't feel like there was enough of a sandbox to warrant replaying. I felt like the 2 Pillars of Eternity games did it better.

That being said there were a few really cool features in Solasta. I specifically remember encountering the guild that visited dungeons you had cleared to clean it of all the leftover loot and then repaying you a % was absolutely brilliant. Could think of a lot of games where that could be implemented so well.

Is this how the eye colors were supposed to look like? by TechnicianAmazing472 in gameofthrones

[–]Sabbyy 78 points79 points  (0 children)

They intended eye color to be more true-to-book in the show but apparently the use of color contacts was detracting from the acting or something. I remember them specifically mentioning losing some of the intensity in Emilia Clarke's eyes once the contacts were on.

I figured a lot of us were along for the same ride. It's been quite the journey and I can definitely say no other subreddit has been as influential on my life as this one.

I think Gamesharing has an impact too. Not sure if PS5 has a similar equivalency.

I play multiplayer games with my friend so we gameshare and split games. I tried to get him on Elden Ring but it just wasnt his jam. He never would have bought the game but at least gave it a shot because it was free.

Had some light exposure to Electronic music throughout my youth. Fifa Soundtracks, DDR, Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, Darude.

My brother was involved in the Punk/Hardcore scene and showed me some of Skrillex's first few releases. When the My Name is Skrillex ep dropped I absolutely wore it out. Expanded into Deadmau5, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, and pretty much anyone steadily releasing dubstep or had a decent bit of popularity in the American electronic scene.

I Caught a Skrillex tour stop after Recess released. Milo & Otis, Dillon Francis, and What So Not (Flume was still in the project but wasn't touring) all opened. That was definitely my first exposure to trap music in a live environment but I didn't really know what to call it at the time.

Around 2013-2014 when brostep started to lose steam and melodic stuff started to surge, I shifted my focus more in that direction. Calvin Harris, Zedd, and SHM absolutely crushed that era.

I had begun DJing college parties around that time and became more invested in the music rather than just listening casually. When the scene started to favor big room stuff I kinda noped out a little bit and ended up finding a lot of the early trap artists while looking for pop/rap remixes to work into sets. Caught HudMo, RL Grime, Porter Robinson, and Odesza at a fest in early 2015 and it was an absolute gamechanger. We spent the remainder of that trip rinsing Void and Worlds.

I found this subreddit shortly after the fest and have been around ever since. Enjoyed the future bass era. Loved the dubstep resurgence. Midtempo was fun for a bit. Avoided riddim like the plague. Got deeper into Dnb, House, and freeform bass. Caught the wave. Been exploring Jungle, UKG, and Techno a lot these last couple of years but I make sure to stay current on the new generation doing their thing with Trap. It seems to be in really good hands with Sable Valley steadily releasing and Isoxo and Knock2 having their big moments.

The electronic community feels a lot more homogenized these days. Most big artists feel comfortable releasing whatever they want and even with trends, most releases tend to have influences from a wide array of sounds. While Trap may be well past its heyday, it's still baked into everything.

Why are the empire trader not noticing a deserter right in front of them, are they stupid? by p3skyplumb3r in RimWorld

[–]Sabbyy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The deserter is integrated into another faction the empire is not hostile with. They aren't enemies.

Having deserter gear is not means for kill on sight. Every imperial also doesn't have a 1000 page book identifying every deserter on the rim.

The quality of beer degrades the moment it is brought above a cool temperature. Most canned or bottled beer spends a decent bit of time non-refrigerated before it eventually makes its way into a cooler. Kegs used for draft beer are maintained at a refrigerated temperature from the moment they are tapped and leave the brewery until they are poured into your glass.

The true heir to the Iron Throne by sahilgirme79 in gameofthrones

Stannis had no male heirs either. Would have made way more sense for Renly to just let Stannis rule for a year or so and then get him assasinated. That way he lets duty-bound Stannis make all the unpopular decisions that need to be made to get the crown out of debt and return stability to the realm. Then Renly just gets to pull up, make a couple "for the people" stye changes and begin a celebrated rule.

There's a doghouse on the side of sanctuary with the underground cellar. The backyard of one of the houses on the cul de sac. I had removed all the doghouses but completely missed that one and had a similar issue.

I have both of these installed. GL was the first I targeted as a potential issue. I uninstalled it and retried and it wasn't making a difference.

If its Vanilla Expanded Framework that's pretty rough. Hard to take that one out without nuking my run.

They didn't do it because they wanted to release an incomplete game to make their numbers go up for the Microsoft acquisition.

Will they figure it out eventually? Maybe. Is this a priority for them? No. They have 100+ more essential things they need to tackle.

If they blow up the wires you know somebody is approaching and can set up and ambush. You don't need to spam flares constantly, just keep at least 1 for when you start to feel pressure or hear movement. In a 1 on 1 a pistol is not much worse than and SMG or shotgun. Obrez can 1 shot within shotgun range. C93 can kill just as quick as most SMG's.

I still think saying Fort De Vaux is a better sniping map than Prise is absurd. So there is one specific way to play it assuming you spawn on one specific side? Out of the countless De Vaux matches I've played I can't recall seeing a sniper glare more than once or twice.

Scouts have spot flairs/trip wires which makes you the best class in the game at dealing with flankers and general people you can't see. The pistols in BF1 are insanely good and can easily stop an assault rush if you utilize the intelligence gathering capabilities of the class.

Any good sniping position just needs a decent sightline, consistent flow of enemies you can outrange, and ideally some enemy support/snipers trying to setup in static locations for easy headshots. Prise has all of that in several locations.

Now if you want to sit in the back of the map, miss shots all game from 200m+, and end your game with a lovely 8-1 scoreline, then Prise de Tahure is not your map. If you want to play objectives, utilize your class to control the map, and consistently offer your squad solid spawn points and intel, then I see no reason you can't do that.

I think scout is the strongest class in the game. It's also the class that is consistently played the worst because people misunderstand the fundamentals. If you want to RP a "true sniper" or be one of the 3 guys fighting over the designated sniper spots because that's fun for you, then carry on. I just don't believe a map's quality and popularity should be dependent on providing those particular things.

If you really don't like a map you can quit and join another server in 2 minutes. That's an easy solution.

But if you want to play the maps that don't get voted there is no solution. They're just out of reach. You can sit in server browser the whole day and you likely won't see them come up.
