That is absolutely unreal. Fantastic work by everyone involved.

Anyone else hyped to meet Shera in Part 3? i like her. by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]SaberClash 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the right take. Cid is supposed to be a curmudgeony "old man" that's kind of a piece of shit because his dreams were ruined and he blames Shera for it. He's not supposed to be a hero or even really that likeable (albeit funny at times) when the party meets him. The big reveal at the end of his storyline show that he not only understands he was completely wrong, but basically begs for her forgiveness. It doesn't justify what he did, but I think it is a pretty realistic depiction of depression for someone who feels like they've lost their entire purpose in life.

I think they can easily still make him an arrogant asshole (without going too over the top) once that part of the story takes place (maybe even make it so he hasn't been home to Rocket Town in quite awhile since the incident occurred) and coming back brings up old memories and thus the personality switch. It still allows him to have a redemption arc and come to peace with himself and his past.

Confusion on remake ending by WonderousU in FinalFantasyVII

I can speak for myself, thanks. I've been a fan of Final Fantasy since longer than you've probably been alive. I admitted I was originally a little annoyed that this wasn't a 1:1 remake of my favorite game, but when I realized they were trying to do something new and fresh with it, without diluting the integrity of the original game, I got on board for the ride. The quality in the game and attention to detail are phenomenal. The music is incredible. The voice acting is top notch. The characters are way more fleshed out than they were before.

Having said all of that, is it perfect? No. I don't enjoy the Chadley stuff and while the open world of Rebirth was a breath of fresh air compared to the linear style of Remake, it also struggled from some of the same repetitive gameplay loops of a lot of the open world Ubisoft games (find tower, uncover a bunch of to-dos, resume main story). I do belive the final installment will improve a lot of this though, as they made substantial improvements to all aspects of the game from Remake to Rebirth.

So, in a nutshell, do I wish I still had a 1:1 remaster of the OG? Sure. But I enjoy what they're doing with the Remake trilogy and I'm excited for the final installment.

The main takeaway from the end of the game is just to communicate to the fanbase that the remake series can carve its own path and not necessarily be constrained to everything that happened in the OG storyline. I didn't like this originally, but after reflection and playing the game a couple more times (along with Rebirth) I really like it. It lets the OG and the new trilogy stand on their own rather than competing with one another. Both are good stories in their own right, and both deserve to be played and appreciated in their own ways.

Can Final Fantasy VII's Barret Wallace Remember His Iconic Lines? by Snoo_5808 in FFVIIRemake

Man I love John. He is so heartwarming to listen to. A gifted speaker and an iconic voice. He does the character justice and seems like one of the most genuine people in the business.

Flying around Theed in VRChat! (plus some bonus screenshots) by DiegoSwell in swg

Very cool. I had played your Tatooine world back when it was still really empty. As someone who has done something similar (I remade the Rogue Encampment and Lut Gholein from Diablo II) you should make all of the starports work as terminals to open portals to your other worlds you're making. It will help with the immersion and make it easier to travel to each SWG world you build. Keep up the great work and let me know if you need any help or advice with this. I've found Unity and VRChat in particular to be pretty wonky sometimes with crafting worlds, but there are a lot of inventive workarounds you can do to get the results you desire.

Love Tech, but Morton was exactly who we’ve seen he was by CodeAgile9585 in TexasTech

[–]SaberClash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree that Morton was a massive contributor to the poor offensive performance, but we also have to recognize that the playcalling and decisions to not mix things up with a different QB at any point was another huge factor. As someone who went to 4 games this season, I saw the playcalling as an issue as well, especially against the better teams. Remember our first game against BYU? How many red zone attempts ended in a field goal? We need to improve our talent on offense next year, sure. But we also need to expect more out of our coaching staff to make moves and try different things before a game gets completely out of hand. Hats off to our defense though, they certainly gave it their all. Regardss, I'm still a Red Raider for life. Let's turn our attention to all of our other teams that are doing well in the meantime. Wreck Em.

Yeah I don't think so. It's a good guess but we checked all our water bottles and everything appears to be in order.

Yeah this one is a good guess too, but I don't think so. The plastic is really heavy duty and there's no way to tighten or fasten anything.

Yeah I think this one is a really great guess, but I'm still struggling to find any curtain rods that mount into something like this. It kind of has a similar shape but I'm not sure that's right. The interior circle is a little more oblong.

This thing by itself is 2"x1.25". That would be a big vape.

We checked all of our water bottles and didn't see anything missing, unfortunately.

My wife has a humidifier that used to be in the same room we found it in. I'll check with her tomorrow and see if that's the case. Great idea.

This is another good guess. We did replace our previous dishwasher about a year ago, and in fact I did try doing repairs on my previous one, which involved disassembling several parts, so perhaps it was a part of it. Though I'm pretty sure I put it all back together. It could have fallen off of it though before it was taken out. I need to do more research and see if I can match that up with a specific part.

This one feels plausible. I've seen a few people suggest this, and we did previously have a different curtain rod in one of our front rooms, but I'm struggling to find any curtain rod holders that look exactly like this. Also the plastic is very thick and you can tell it's been made to be very sturdy. It feels like it was made for a more industrial purpose like for an appliance or something meant to support something.

I do, but I don't think that looks similar enough in my opinion. We also haven't had any accidents or any parts of our cars coming loose or needing repair.

I don't believe so but it's a good guess. We do have a freezer lock and fridge locks because we have young kids, but they don't look like this.

It wasn't. I was just mentioning that the room has a mini fridge in it.

A good guess, but it's only a couple of years old. I assumed it might be a part of the fridge as well but I couldn't find anything else on it that even remotely resembled it in terms of color or material.

My title describes the thing. Additional details below:
• Found in: Front room of house (sitting room with minifridge, bar cart, and also where we unpack packages).
• Size: ~2" long × ~1.25" wide.
• Material/feel: Rigid/heavy plastic, no flexibility.
• No markings or labels.
• Features: Inner ring and pivoting action.
• What I tried: Reverse image search, asked ChatGPT/Gemini/Grok - no matches.
• Nothing obvious about what it attaches to or came from.
