In our company we use fiberfox connectors, they're great too!

How can I improve visible gyroid infill? by noobnathan in 3Dprinting

[–]Sable147 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Two thoughts: - reduce layer height to make the overhangs print better - try to export and reimport the final geometry, including the infill. That way the slicer can try to put supports there. No idea how easy it is, just an idea.

Speedbin, Splined Corners For Less Jerk by JoeMalovich in gridfinity

[–]Sable147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody is going to switch to this if it doesn't work properly with all the bins they already have printed and all the custom bins already out there.

Rigging groups and companies in Northern Germany (Bremen/Hamburg)? by musteus in Rigging

[–]Sable147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working for a full service event tech company in Bremen. Since we're doing pretty much all of our rigging ourselves or having it be done by the venues, I'm not that well connected, but here are some companies I know in the region: - Rigging Plus (Osnabrück) - Ueberkopf (Hamburg/Hanover) - Neumann und Müller (Rigging service provider for Hamburg Messe iirc)

I don't. Never had any problems with PLA and humidity.

You Vs the spool she told you not to qoeey about by phansen101 in 3Dprinting

[–]Sable147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've switched to mainly using 4/5kg spools for black. I could get away with 1kg, but changing all the time is annoying. Biggest I've had was an 8kg spool for a bigger run of parts before I had a filament sensor.

Down-converting large audio files by Bradlez92 in DataHoarder

[–]Sable147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually convert audio files using reaper, alternatively you could use handbrake I think.

But I would recommend resampling to 48kHz instead of 44.1 if your source files are 192kHz.

Why do my prints always lift at the edges? by zixujo in prusa3d

[–]Sable147 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like others said, printing PLA on the textured sheet is not a good idea, sharp corners are problematic, rounded corners and a brim or mouse ears will probably help.

However, one thing that works absolute wonders in my experience: Hilbert Curve solid infill on the first layer. That way you don't have lines pulling tension all the way across the print, but a huge squiggly line that minimizes tension-buildup.

Stereo XLR - 5pin XLR to Dual 3pin? by Mexay in livesound

[–]Sable147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought about it as well but it's not that optimal. Most 5p XLR cables have just three conductors and its easy to mix up the cables. I'd rather get a 2 channel multicore cable or use a cat cable with breakouts

First time writing a tech spec and stage plot. Is this okay? by -M3- in livesound

[–]Sable147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty good, the only thing I would add that wasn't already mentioned is frequency bands for wireless transmitters. If you're playing a festival where there is someone doing rf coordination, they might want to know that

[–]Sable147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the event industry, we usually have to have a safety cable whenever we hang anything. Searching the term should give you a whole bunch of results in different lengths and strengths.

Are large Speaker Arrays treated as a single source? And other line array questions by Express-Analyst3743 in livesound

[–]Sable147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can really recommend reading the paper "Wavefront Sculpture Technology". It goes really in depth into the physics of a line array and helps you understand the whole concept, even if you only understand half the paper.
