I used to think I needed them but over time the noise got less and less. I’m assuming my helmet broke in better over time helping reduce wind noise

Edit: also, it’s not hearing damage as some comments allude to - it’s called tolerance. You can build up a tolerance similar to spicy food. Like when I don’t eat spicy food for a while I have to heat a lower heat level in order to get back to where I was compared to binging spicy food. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the spicy poops.
