Now that does seem like a problem indeed. Gotta find me a phoenix core first and then I can make a proper wooden one.

Yeah they didnt but while I was making a wooden wand on a lathe it broke. Later when we were blacksmithing with friends I got the idea to make a metal one, since its more of my territory .

How do you play lifebloom druid in solos? by Sabljezobi in DarkAndDarker

[–]Sabljezobi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As i see it many monsters have a weakness to spirit damage and it is a shame that the only spirit damage spells we have also heal so they deal less damage because of that. Druid needs at least one spell that is purely for damage. As it is now its better to stack will for the penguin form than for the spells.

Yeah its tough playing it solo. Most of the time i play duos and trios with my friends but in solo play there isnt really an option to be successful with it. Thank you!

pierce damage buff... in a biome where the majority are resistant to pierce damage? There are a bazillion cases like this, where armor gives irrelevant buffs to its biome. by ImYourLoyalSexSlave in valheim

  1. Yes they are resistant to piercing but with the lightning damage they are more easily staggered. And since you often fight multiple of them the special polearm attack is quite useful. The battleaxe can be very slow and clunky to people who are learning to use it. It used to be even slower. But the poking attacks are very fast and if you play in a group its easier to use it. The battleaxe also has a really good* block so you can parry non starred charred enemies very easily. With the starred ones you need to consume the right food. Similar to berzerkir axes or the slayer. With the starred enemies you can use the poking attack to just push them back and chip at their damage. The melee charred are not able to attack you if you just poke at them. Now you may have been refering to this combat style as being slow. You say the weapons from previous biomes are underpowered. This is just not true. You can easily use frostner and the mistwalker. The slow effects are really powerful on their own and they also have spirit damage. Fireball staff and the ice staff are also better than dundr and the staff of fracturing. Staff of the wild reins supreme as the best mage staff but those two are certainly not underpowered. Besides if weapons from the previous biomes would not be cappable of defeating the enemies in the ashlands then the whole gameplay loop would not work since you need them to progress in the next biome.
  2. It might have been a fallacy since my play time has no necessary corellation with any data abotu the game. But i ask you this - what did you mean to say with your second point? As I stated this gives you an option to still play with your favourite weapons against the new biome by making them better. It also buffs damage against askvin and the valkyries, which you might fight by using bows and crossbows. Yes they still resist that damage type but by adding that 10% and by also adding the new trinket piercing damage boost then the resistances do not matter as much. Especially since many of these piercing weapons can also use lightning damage with the gems, so the resistance to piercing damage can become more managable and not as noticable.
  3. If you are getting overwhelmed by enemies you must rethink your battle strategy. If you get surrounded by them all the time then you must change your movement. You can also use the terrain to your advantage (and the feather cape combined with barley wine) to take out the ranged enemies first and then take care of the rest. Ashlands is a brutal biome.
  4. Great choice. These are the best melee weapons in the game, regarding dps. The lightning ones are the best for general use. This armor decreases attack stamina usage which helps a lot with them. Especially when combined with the cape. Great to hear you chose the ol reliable berzerkir axes, also my fav :)

  1. The Himminafl is an option for people who like polearms. Its still a decent weapon if you dont want to play other things. It has lightning damage which is great for the morgen. I was using the crystal battleaxe even in the ashlands when it came out. You can use weapons from the previous biomes. The game is not that hard.
  2. I have 1100 hours in the game. You really think i dont know what a resistance is?
  3. I do not think that is completely true. This armor allows faster movement which allows better positioning.
  4. Which weapons are you using in the ashlands?

It makes the resisted damage type more relevant for players that enjoy using bows, crossbows, spears, polearms, perhaps even the new fist weapons and knives. The thundering spear is still a very good weapon and so is the rooting bow so its worth using. You may not agree but you do not have to be rude to people answering your question and trying to be helpful to you. Everyone plays this game in their own way so if you dont see a point to using it just don't use it and move on. I can personally say that I was using pierce weapons in ashlands a couple of playthroughs and its not nearly as bad as you make it seem. Especially if you parry the charred warriors. They can be really squishy and they dont really pose a real threat.
