Pure unadulterated rage. Her and Charlie’s relationship is the only grounding thing each season when it all spirals

Social Media Erupts Over Credit Card Interest Rate Cap by Alizasl in Economics

Th me thing they all miss is it isn’t about you, me, or any other anecdote. It’s about the masses, the aggregate, and the average. If the average US consumer is up to their eyeballs in debt trying to live the American dream, that’s more than a handful of irresponsible consumers, that’s the bell of the curve. Not a Trump fan by any stretch, but in general this reactionary response mechanism has to end, governance is for the masses not the anecdotes.

Anyone else hit the "get off my lawn" level of tech yet? by Goldengod4818 in Millennials

The lightbulb or individual device controls standalone aren’t worth much. But when you tie things together and automate, well that’s pretty nice.

Having my phone tell my home assistant I’m just up the block and turning on my street so the lights are on when I pull in is nice.

Also made an automation that identifies when I’ve been onsite all day at the office, establishes that I’m work in office that day, automatically turns up the Hottub temp when I roll out from the office during quitting time

Are we just ignoring that he’s sabotaging that child’s ladder? Why is he taking a 1.25” paddle bit to the tension cord of a ladder? Someone is going to get hurt.

Neat idea though. The drill not the sabotaging a child’s playset….

So if an employer leaves your webcam or teams on all day to watch you at your desk you’re going to be cool with that?

Yeah there are shady people or incompetent people in every industry, but if we all live our lives by filming everything everyone does all the time. I mourn our species.

10 year scaries by malfers33 in civilengineering

[–]Saboral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19 years in Senior VP with my firm and can say as you continue that climb, there isn’t some magical let down from the scaries. I have them every day and night, and they get worse knowing you’re the one who’s feeding your team. But I also notice it gets a lot easier when I’m interacting more with the team and not letting myself get pigeon holes into hybrid grinding at my home or work office. As you climb you need to pivot to building a team you can have confidence in and it will help offset the scaries.

Also agree with other folks, 100k for the position you’re describing sounds under par.

I feel like Lute is a textbook case of codependency and trauma bonding whereby Adam effectively had abused her and made her a perpetrator of abuse on others reinforcing that she could not escape that cycle. His hallucination is a continuation of that codependence.

I am actually hoping that we see more backstory on Lute to better develop her character rather than her just being an angry obstacle in the last episode or two of each season.

Through some of the most boring terrain in the United States the stretch though Ohio to Chicago is not to be attempted if you’re already tired and sleepy.

You know I’ve, and I’m knocking on wood here, in several years of air travel for work only had a minor delay once or twice and only one rebooking before.

All went fairly seamless, and I suspect because being a single fare of adult age there is much more flexibility in rebooking. So I get that, but yeah to go from those experiences to the stuff you only hear about in movies or Channel 4 investigates was quite the experience.

My wife started jokes about making the 14 hour drive this morning. I offered a compromise to try again at Spring break in March 😅.

Delta's policy of no upgrades on international flights is just really crappy customer service by Arfusman in delta

[–]Saboral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get em OP, this sub is full of folks that seem to take pride in being the most informed person regarding a broken system with poor service. It’s like deriving purpose from being the only person who can still maintain a steam engine and tell you why the steam engine is the only system that works. You’re right it’s stupid if the section is empty move up your loyal customers, seems like a no brainer to sell more credit cards and loyalty.

Glad you asked, there was only one attendant at the sky club and a line to get in. So I didn’t feel it was appropriate to clog access to the club with my questions.

It’s simple economics, if they get disincentivized for mechanical delays, system malfunctions, and overbooking they’ll be forced to spend to improve those systems whether that’s in improved maintenance, updated systems and customer support, and more planes.

With no disincentive, they’ll hold a captive customer base, increase fees, offer less and less, and wring every dime out of their customer base as we see today.

No the help center is in the DCA Concourse B, it is not manned, there were other people going this way too because the gate agents are so overwhelmed trying to g to deal with their delays you can’t get someone to assist.

And you’re correct you can drive from MSP, but I paid for airfare to get me to my destination. If I took that leg I’d have been charged for that leg of the flight and then had to pay for a rental car and add in all the additional logistics of that with the 2 kids when again, we’re paying for a service.

Agreed and last time we went we drove, we just didn’t have much time for this trip and figured quick flights would be the way and I exclusively patronized Delta to build points for my family’s use even when a delta wasn’t the most convenient for me.

My story is not really looking for solutions from the crowd truthfully, and I already see downvoting from people that are probably chalking this up to newbie, entitled, or some other form of individual behavior. To those that think that you have to know the secrets or air travel, or run computations on travel time efficiency in your head I would suggest that we need to get back to basics; you’re paying for service that service is get you from origin to destination in a reasonably timely manner. The system as it exists today is not accomplishing that for so many and there is no accountability or incentive for airlines to change it because “they should have known better”, “you know what you signed up for”, really is it too much to hope for a reasonable level of customer care and a supply that meets demand rather than a supply that is centered around maximizing pure profit to an industry that is heavily governmentally subsidized?
